I think the reason for this is the economic factors which is affecting the youths in Africa. As I read through the OP I expected to see the OP provided links to his assertion but I am disappointed that there are no links provided to support his points. Basically what the OP has done is just an assumption that hasn't been proven. Once the OP reads more literature on the topic of gambling and its addiction he would come to realize that there are only three levels of addiction and by extension gambling addiction. He would also come to realize that the reason why he may think that people in other continents /races are more addicted to gambling than the African continent is that those people have a better system to monitor, report, and document gambling addiction than their counterpart in the African continent.

I have not travel out from country to know if the other continent gamblers are more committed than the African countries.  Op I don't your observation is correct because the way I Africans playing gamble is more that the white. And the only different I can see on them is the quality and quantity of gambling. Each an every one has his gambling addiction be It black or white, African or Asian or European, addiction is addiction and it does not have a direction. I don't think we can get the correct details on who gambles the most whether Africans or other races, but having done some research, not Africans are the most gamblers, as we likely depend on sport betting than casino and their many options. In the grand scheme of things, it is not about race that separates people from becoming addict- it is about the opportunity and environment on how they were raised. You specifically mentioned "Africa" on how they have little-to-no addicts on their country. Perhaps you should consider their status affairs and opportunities available.
If you put an African person in the same setting, same status, and same opportunity as a person living in a first world country, then most likely the result would be the same.

That is a very bizarre look at gambling and race doesn't really seem to have any part of it. If all was equal I would imagine that all races would be predisposed to gamble. However there can definitely be a societal and country specific stigmas associated with gambling or ease of access to facilities. Defining it as a "race" problem is wrong, when people are simply using the gambling facilities that are available to them, it seems like plenty of African gamblers use phones to place bets and not local bookmakers like you suggest. You're approaching the issue wrong in my opinion. It's not so much about race. If you think of more affluent African nations where people of African decent can be rich, do you see them being gambling addicts and having widespread problems?

No. Wanna know why? Because it's not about race. It's about class. People of low to mid income have little to no of their needs met. Yes, maybe they won't starve, but they still spend their time working only to remain poor with no prospects. Doesnt matter if theres tons of casino places or just one, because you would really be able to determine about the demand basing up on the numbers of gamblers who do really get engaged with it because if you do see that there's no gamblers who are really that playing despite of the availability then this do signifies that demand isnt there. They have what they call quoran, which indicates that gambling is one of the forbidden practices in their religions. Everyone is prone to be addicted to gambling. Many people who knows that gambling is prohibit in their religion still playing gambling, although some of them playing gambling secretly. They thinks that if they can responsible in gambling, they don't have any problems playing gambling except losing their money and they already knows about that. A huge part of it can also attributed to ease of access to these platforms. Without gambling platforms, people may be interested in gambling to get more money but won't have the means to do it.

In Africa, AFAIK they do have gambling shops that are offered locally to them. It's also becoming a thriving industry in the continent, so eventually this region will produce addicts since they now have access to such platforms. The region is ridden by poverty, with a lot of people wanting to get out of the rat race and looking for easier ways to do it. For most people,  the fact that they don't have enough money is the more reason they gamble and the only motive for gambling is to make more money. You know gambling with the sole aim of making money is not really safe as many would invest alot in gambling just to make money, this might eventually lead to a gambling problem. Come to think of it, how much does it cost an average person to gamble? The irresponsible ones will even do the unimaginable just to gamble.

If you say those in Africa do not often get addicted because they don't have enough resources (money) to gamble, then you are not different from the OP who thinks Africans rarely get addicted because they do not have more casinos around. Irresponsible gamblers will always face gambling challenges and anyone whether rich or poor, white or black can be irresponsible and still face gambling problems.

It's clear that there are many people who gamble because they want to be able to make a profit using only the money they have, hoping that gambling can give them a win, but in reality this only puts them in trouble, such as losses that can be large. when they cannot control themselves when gambling, such as chasing wins or even a ridiculous alibi, namely wanting to recover losses. Who would have thought that such ridiculous hopes would actually get them into serious trouble.

It's true, there is no difference between poor or rich gamblers, it's all the same if they gamble excessively or irresponsibly. This has happened a lot, there are many cases of bad effects caused by excessive gambling. it makes no difference about race, religion, financial level, or even gender, it all depends on the approach. If they are really close to gambling then they will experience big losses such as losing a lot of money just for gambling.

The people of Africa are not able to gamble that much or get addicted easily because they lack the resources that they can use for gambling, whether it's about having a lot of places for gambling or having enough financial capability. According to a report published in 2020, about 60 million Nigerians aged between 18 and 40 were already actively involved in sports betting, spending almost N2 billion daily. Nigeria also has the highest average monthly spending on betting in Africa and is the second highest participating country in gambling, after Kenya.

There are several reports of people who, despite not having money, sold cars or houses to feed their addiction and even after losing everything they continue gambling because they need money to solve their problems, but they often lose much more than they win.

I had the same thought because I don't believe that gambling problems have anything to do with the race of gamblers but more like how exposed they are culturally to such things, what kind of a society they have been raised in, how their financial situation is, and a bunch of other factors that might affect someone's life through gambling. A person who has been raised in an environment and with a culture where gambling is prohibited and no one around him has ever gambled or even if they did, they never did it in front of the children, such children would grow up having no interest in gambling at all.

On the other hand, if the same child grows up in a society where gambling is normal, almost every other person is a gambler and gambles regularly, people within the family are involved in gambling and they don't care whether children are watching or whatever and they do it whenever they want, such children would surely have a lot of interest in it when they grow up.

So it's barely about the race or anything like that but it's mostly about how much one has been exposed to it from the beginning and how much accessibility they have to the tools and stuff that can help them gamble.

First what do you mean by full addictions?
I can say that Africa has the highest and worst cases of gambling addicts because they have been a virial of public display of addictions problems and characters this make the whole of the thing to be a mess since we have seen multiple cases of incidents that are influenced by excessive gambling, sometimes you see suicide because of gambling loses and other times you hear cases of dunkely indebted individuals all via gambling.
So we can't outrighly take Africa away from that list and as a matter of fact we should consider rating Africa among the top continent with long history of gambling addictions.

Maybe you should use word "region" instead of "race", since you obviously mean that as you are talking about different parts of the world, local gambling shops and such. And these days we speak of about different cultures rather than race, in context like this.

But answer to your question is no. Why would race have anything to do with that? Different genomes can affect into addiction, like in situations where you inherit ADHD from your parents or grand parents etc, but no proof has found of a singular gene that would affect to that. But again, that has nothing to do with race.

Region however can affect to it with culture and attitude towards gambling, and obviously laws and regulations can determine how much people are subjected to advertising, what age limits there are, how easy access they have, and if there are any support in these areas for the addicts that are easily available.

Gambling I think has nothing to do with race. Gambling is a thing of choice  and nobody is forced to do so. Before anyone gambles, they must have made up their minds to do so. I don't think Africa is that behind right now,after all didn't they host the World Cup in 2010 in South Africa,this means that the technology of information is available to many persons worldwide now with no different races being at discrimination like you are pointing out some to have better chances of becoming addicted.I think everyone of us has the same level of probability of getting into addiction because that is deep in our DNA,human nature,we are all based on greed and greed is our greatest enemy yet we keep being led by greed and this has only bad consequences.Maybe the technology and innovation is not at the same level in Africa compared to developed countries yet I am sure they have a lot of online casinos out there too and they can all access for example our reputable crypto casinos here in the forum.
