No! You're probably wrong in your research or you just consider few people during your research to derive general conclusion. Chasing loses or playing for fun has nothing to do with the method of gambling, it's more of individual habit than the process used in gambling. Personally, I find playing online more entertaining and fun than playing games offline because of the nature of my environment. I find it embarrassing entering offline gambling shops to place a bet. I have witnessed for several times where people playing at off line shops chase their lose to recover the lost money and end up crying home after spending every penny with them. Likewise, people who play online games finds happiness in doing so while also protecting their reputation in the society without people knowing they play gamble. It's an individual involved that matters, not how or where you gamble.
