If we abuse it then it's certainly highly addictive.
I do believe you are talking about casino games because for me when someone says "online gambling" then even sports betting is dragged into it.
IMO, sports betting is not highly addictive because once the game you bet for ends, there's really not much to do but wait for the next game to happen, it could be tomorrow or after two days so there's rest between those times.
I played sports betting for a long time that's why I could say that, I can do house chores and my work after the game ends, and all I do is just think about my next strategy or analyze the next game when the schedule comes out.

I think it is part of the beauty that has been made by the internet and digital growth. Wrong, Gambling is old skool, its been around for a very long time and my grand father says a lot about gambling when he was around in his 70s.

In my personal case, I have not had much experience when comes to gambling in brick and mortar casinos, most of my accumulated wager has been placed thanks to my interaction with online casinos and bookies. Though, I do not completely abandon the idea of having a good time in traditional casinos, as you call them.
