The time you mentioned was the year after Bitcoin was created. If we take a look at the history of Bitcoin, we can see that Bitcoin was created in 2009. You mentioned that in 2010 the price of Bitcoin was only $0.09 (this is according to the history of Bitcoin).

The time you mentioned was the early days of Bitcoin creation then maybe Bitcoin was not that popular and no one could have imagined that Bitcoin would be so popular and so high in value. I think it's normal to regret that you saw the price of Bitcoin when it was created at $0.09 and now see it rise to $72,000. It seems to me or as per your statement that your friend did the right thing which is why he is a millionaire today. You may still have time to invest in Bitcoin so that you don't have the same regrets in the future as you did when you created Bitcoin.

Think about it this way in the future:

If you have $100 laying around that you wouldn't mind throwing into a fire pit, why not put it into something that is innovative and would have a first-mover advantage? At worst, you lost $100 which is one fancy dinner. At best, you could have 333-1666 BTC now (depending on when in 2010 you would have bought).

Also, playing the what-if game isn't helpful beyond you seeing what lessons you could have learned and how you can chart a different course in your life going forward.

I don't know I feel if you were still friends there's no way you wouldn't be convinced to buy especially when it started printing out profit. If your friend like you said became a millionaire by holding bitcoin for 14 years it means they know very well the potential of bitcoin and at some point should have convinced you to buy btc worth atleast a $100.

There is no problem with making mistakes, after all as they say "to err is human". The problem is when people don't learn from their mistakes. In early years it was easy to believe the propaganda and FUD about Bitcoin because it was small and too early with little adoption to know any better. But from early years till today a lot of things have changed and so should have the opinion of those who fell for the FUD.

So the only thing that you  didn't mention here is whether you learned from your mistake or not...

If you had followed the valuable advice your friend gave you 14 years ago today and invested in Bitcoin, we wouldn't be regretting it today. But there is still time to invest in Bitcoin and you should invest before 2030 Bitcoin reaches million dollars. If you can invest now then you too have a chance to become a millionaire after 2030.

The ability to do your independent research on an investment and decide if it is legitimate or not is a prerequisite for any good investor. But I guess other factors can influence that decision. Someone who recently fell victim to Ponzi scams will be more defensive, ruling out any investment without giving it a second thought.

You have the next 14 years to maybe not be a millionaire but grow your investments.

You could have buy or mine bitcoin in 2010 when yout friend introduced Bitcoin to you, but I bet that you would have sold it long ago after holding for a while, 2010 is very far behind and few bull markets have took place at the time.

There are many people who are fortunate to mine Bitcoin in the very beginning but they lost their recovery seed and some sell very early, it's all human mind and their emotions, only very few people hold their Bitcoin all this while.

Anyways, it is really not too late, I know it's very easy to buy Bitcoin in 2010 because it's very cheap but maybe in the next 10 years to this time people will look back and say that it was easy to buy Bitcoin in 2024. Think about it and start buying some Bitcoin today.

You were not alone on that mistake, most of us also thought that Bitcoin was a Ponzi scheme, we had the money to invest in it, but we're too skeptical to do so, today we know better that it's a store of value that will continue to increase in price. The good news is that it's not too late to start Bitcoin investment journey today, because in the next 10 years, people that were skeptical about it now will look back and wish they'd bought it when it's price was $70k. I don't blame people that failed to invest in Bitcoin earlier even when they were convinced to do it. Their decision might be because of the happenings in their location. There was a time when there was an increase in the rate of Ponzi schemes and scams in my country. Many people were scammed while others lost money in these Ponzi schemes and shitcoins projects. This negative condition made people to be too cautious that they had to miss viable opportunities to make money through valid investments. However, there is no need to regret it because Bitcoin still provides opportunities to make profits and even become a millionaire.

Many people had the same regret in 2014, 2017, and 2021, you think it's too late? You aren't thinking straight, there will be people regretting that they never bought Bitcoin in 2022 when the price was sitting at 17k, they are already regretting right now because Bitcoin is over 50k already, wait till 2025 ATH.

There is no point regretting the past, it's not coming back, instead, you should reshape your future by accumulating a few strong assets, like Bitcoin, and a few good altcoins, the next ATH will create a new set of crypto millionaires and I plan to be a part of them.

Take actions, and reap the reward later, there is still a chance now, and I believe that with the involvement of the ETFs, this could be the biggest bull market ever, start accumulating right now.

Out of the millions of people you see in crypto ecosystem more than 50% of them have will have the same story to tell you, how they almost got into bitcoin when the price was just a penny, how they thought bitcoin was meant for only the rich, how they sold their stashes of bitcoin at a low price, how they did this and did that they later made them missed out on bitcoin. The list goes on.

According to the quote “almost never kills a bird” I almost bought bitcoin will never be the same as I bought and kept my bitcoin - so, rather than complaining about something you can’t go back in time to change why don’t you just focus on the ones you can do presently and yield a different result?

What if I say Bitcoin will reach $100,000,000 someday, will you believe it? it's similar when 5K Bitcoins was worth for a pizza, but now one Bitcoin worth $69K. If you buy Bitcoin at $69K, I will not be surprised if you sell it when the price cross $100K because you will think it's already high and you already make profit.

You're not almost become a millionaire, but didn't take a chance to change your life, it's not only limited to Bitcoin, but in every single day.
