Why do some people hide to gamble

My curiosity led me closer to them I was interacting with one of them and at same time observing what they are doing , one thing I observed was that they stake with huge amount and they don’t give you change even when your money requires change instead you will use it and bet for another round.

So at this point I decided to bring it here to know or see different views from different intellects here on why do some people hide just to gamble or if it is the best way to gamble ?.

It depends on a variety of reasons, such as:

• Tax implications of gambling;
• Lack of necessary permits that makes it illegal;
• Embarrassment/bias from the general public;
• Avoiding any form of attraction and crowd from the people; or
• Religion implications.

Again, there are a few reasons on why people hide their gambling activities from the public. Obviously, if they gamble on the streets and the police discovers this, they may be questioned about their activities given that there are countries that contain strict gambling laws/regulations. Additionally, there are also countries which prohibit gambling on their practice and this may have implications on their safety and security.

But when I got closer to them I discovered that there was a dirty container close to them and inside the container is money they bet for the game they are playing , and if not careful observed you will never believe that they are playing bet games .

There are a lot reason why gambler didn't gamble in public one of those are in their country didn't allowed their people in gambling so they will hide to gamble in order to prevent  themselves. Second is they will not comfortable enough to show in public that they are a gambler even thier family they didn't want to expose their habits. And third is that they are hiding because they will know that is and iligal from thier family which is thier parents didn't want them to gamble but they want to gamble so they will need to hide .

There are many reasons why people don't want to be exposed for their involvement in gambling, one of which may be that they don't want their family to know and they don't want people around them to know about the gambling they do In my opinion, hiding gambling is good as long as we don't engage in excessive gambling. In some areas, gambling is considered a bad activity, so they are forced to hide their involvement in gambling.

The rest is about comfort because without people knowing, we will feel much safer when gambling. I think there are many perspectives on this but generally people will hide gambling from their family because maybe they don't want their children to be involved in this activity.

If it's not because they don't want their habits to be known, maybe it's because they appreciate it or because gambling isn't legal so that the act of gambling in secret is the choice that must be made.
Gambling online does not require hiding because it can be done anywhere as long as the player has money and is connected to the internet. If online gambling is also prohibited, players also have alternatives to play.

Really I don't know the reason why people gamble in hidden if they really understand what gambling really is and if you are not gambling irresponsibly to be ashamed of and fear of not being publicly seen gambling since you already exhibited such mental understanding and character of not being a responsible gambler.

To be frank I have never considered this reason and  just did some research about this now, the tax policy on gambling varies from various countries while some may focus on getting tax from gamblers wins or may focus on putting taxes on bookies and probably others.

I think those whose main source of income comes from gambling may tend hide their gambling records more than any other gamblers paying tasks though this also depends on the percentage they are expected to pay for their wins

But this action and gambling decision will only lead to misunderstanding and a common issue of separation. If we are a responsible person and a family man, we should never hide any from our partners. that's true, because there are countries that don't legalize gambling, and those who gamble in secret may be one of the factors because of this, now if they live in a country where gambling is prohibited, and when they are found out by the government maybe they will get into trouble because it has violated the law established by the state. because in my opinion gambling can destroy someone's life, but it is also because of their own fault for gambling excessively.

Here in PH, there are a lot of prohibited gambling activities going on in private places like inside a residence. These people usually play Mahjong and Chinese poker. These are the kind of activities that are considered underground gambling events and these are being seized by the authorities. However, the police aren't so strict with these policies and aren't so active in catching these kind of gambling activities. so these has become rampant overtime.
This is one of the reason why some gamblers are hiding or keeping in a secret so that authorities won't get a hint about there whereabouts. These gamblers may not also tell their family members about the venue to avoid
getting exposed very open publicly.
These kind of gambling is one of the leading reason about family problems in the country, as they often operate 24/7. A person may walk in with full of cash today and get home on the other day or two with empty pocket.

That's right, it's true like that even though in some countries gambling is prohibited and there are people who still do gambling secretly, because gambling has its own charm so that there are people who do it even though their own country prohibits it. But even so, in my opinion, all people are aware of gambling activities like this even though it is done secretly because it has circulated outside as well. Even on social media today there are many who do it live streaming and I think many people also know about this busy online gambling.
As you said, even though many do it secretly but it has spread outside but the authorities such as the police are not active in this matter, maybe it has become a common thing too, so they allow it, but I have read and seen the news, there are indeed those who are arrested too. But the arrests do not match the number of people who are doing gambling secretly.

I feel like it is important not to publish every single thing you do in life. I understand that we are at a modern age where people share their toilet schedule at this point, we literally have no privacy and it wasn't taken from us, we willingly gave it, and I get that. But some things has to stay private, not a secret, not like I wouldn't admit, just that you do not go broadcast it.

If one day someone ever asks, then you can say yeah you do a bit if you want to, or maybe not even share that, because you are not forced to share anything ever. I personally believe that gambling is a private thing that I enjoy and I do not like to invite anyone into that discussion, it's what I do with my own free time and only matters to me.

You have a point, also gambling contains monetary exchanges so it's better to do it in private area to avoid any conflicts and accidents. As you've said, if gambling has been done in public places, there's a tendency that some minors will see you doing that kind of activity and it may gives an idea to the children how's gambling works which is not good because gambling is strictly available for adults and it's not suitable for minors. Actually gambling isn't something that's generally accepted by everyone especially if you are not a gambler, you really are going to find it comfortable enough to see gambling as something you would just accept and get to flow with it without have some sentimental taughts about those who gambles so it's usually not something that's generally accepted a d that has been one of the main reasons most persons have got to hide whenever they are gambling because they wouldn't want to be faced with the backlash and criticism that comes with others getting to know about their habits.

Wow, if that's what you ask, the answers are varied, you could say that everyone who wants to gamble is different, there are those who like to be known and are great at it, there are those who are too shy not to be known by other people, the point being that the reasons are very varied.

Some countries and people think that gambling is part of their sin, if someone gambles, for that reason many people, the majority of whom are Muslims, choose to hide from gambling, they are embarrassed if their neighbors find out, family and so on, there are also those who think gambling is a disgrace to the family.

Upbringing is one part forward for good or bad human behavior. A player who decides to hide while gambling with friends has his reasons. But in the context of upbringing, could it be he was never allowed to openly associate with people growing up? Humans display a huge part of their childhood, as adults. There are multiple factors as to why these people chose to stay in segregated areas to gamble. As they say, correlation doesn't imply causation. We only would guess the reason, in my previous thoughts, I think they're running from the cops. But I still wonder if a gambler running from the cops is serious about this, he'd be in closed doors.

In further thoughts, while writing this, I think of it as valid. Staying outdoors allows the gamblers the freedom to see clearly who approaches the environment, and it's easier to take off. So, it's unrealistic to use one person's upbringing to define the reason behind the behavior of multiple people. The players in that circle may not have similar parental training. This makes the thoughts of upbringing not completely acceptable. However, if they are teenagers who just started their gambling, they could be, truthfully, hiding from people who may report to their parents.
