In every country there are certain rules for gambling and in many countries it is illegal to gamble in public places. Even if it is legal to gamble in public places, in my opinion gambling should never take place on the streets or in public places. This is because gambling may not be enjoyable for everyone. When you gamble on the street, children can see it and they can emulate it. This is the beginning of an irreversible path for them. Gambling is a powerful game that has the potential to influence good or bad people. Because it is very tempting for everyone to make money quickly. People also don't like it to be obvious when they gamble.

You have a point, also gambling contains monetary exchanges so it's better to do it in private area to avoid any conflicts and accidents. As you've said, if gambling has been done in public places, there's a tendency that some minors will see you doing that kind of activity and it may gives an idea to the children how's gambling works which is not good because gambling is strictly available for adults and it's not suitable for minors. We have different likes and dislikes when it comes to our activities and As a gambler, I prefer to gamble in a private area with less interaction with other people so that I can do a lot of things without worrying what other people will say about ny actions.

Since gambling is not a crime i see no reason to why they should hide before gambling or while doing it, that shows that anyone engaged in this kind of act has something he is hiding, this may be from the public or from other people around where he is gambling, i don't know what other dirty secrets we keep away from people, but we should clearly have the understanding of this that gambling is all about having fun and nothing more than this, it's not a crime to do so in a country where its being accepted as a legal thing to do.

I was walking down my street this evening I saw some group of guys in a hidden corner of an uncompleted building playing WHOT games ordinarily I felt they are just spending usual time as friends and that they are playing the WHOT game to keep themselves busy while discussing.

There are couple of things that could cause gamblers to hide away from people when in engagingin gambling activities, or don't want people to see them gambling, is because of the way the society see someone into gambling (gamblers) as being irresponsible basically people who don't have job, secondly some hide because of their age , so boys that are not upto 18 years wouldn't want people that know see them engaging in gambling activities being an under-age person, lastly some category of gamblers that make money don't just like people to know their source of income and this is why we have majority of gamblers engaging in an online betting platforms than the they patronize the physical sport bookers.

It is quite obvious that people are not participating in gambling in just a way because they feel like it or because they want to, they do so because it is very likely there is much stigma against gamblers in your country or even in your town, so for them in order not to get in trouble, they decide to bet/gamble in secret and using cash (which is fungible, so banks and their family members won't suspect of them betting or gambling).

This is definitely about upbringing. There are gamblers today who grew up in homes where there both parents and relatives condemn gamblers either because they are religious or tradition don't allow them to gamble. So when these set of people see themselves as gamblers they want to hide away from people knowing exactly what other parents and people who don't subscribe to gambling would be saying on them. It is just the way it is that when you see people who hide to gamble, you just understand that such factor can be responsible for that or they themselves are not ready cool with it but they are only trying to double their money in secret whilst they criticize gambling in public.

Yes you are right these could be their reason why they are hiding to play gambling because I don't see any other reason why one should be playing playing gambling and hiding. For them not to come out freely to play gambling it means if they are being caught they can be punished because it is only when one is not doing the right thing that is why the person will be hiding. Gambling is not for everyone and gambling does not suit everyone's status. And gambling can affect the children in the family because children always follow other family members and learn from them. Your view can be right sir but you need to look back at some cultures and norms that gambling is a bad activity and gamblers as very bad people in some parts of the world, you may need to re-read why some people why someone wants to hide their gambling activities from people and prefer to enjoy it alone or only a few people they trust.
And you also need to see why people here prefer to gamble without their identity being given to the casino, yes because gambling can be said to be a sensitive activity by some people which makes them choose to gamble secretly without anyone knowing, besides that we also know that gambling is made not only a place for fun, many of us make gambling a place to launder money and or make money there, this is also included in why someone wants their gambling activities hidden. Of course this is not the best way to enjoy gambling, and it is clear that they want freedom, as it would be quite difficult for someone to express pleasure in gambling if their activities are restricted. There are several reasons why they hide gambling from family, relatives and friends, the main factor is that gambling is not supported by environmental behavior which is still viewed negatively or gambling is still illegal in some countries, another factor is because they consider gambling to be private so that it is not known to other people. So there are various reasons people hide gambling but it all depends on their individual goals because if you win at gambling then they will be very close to you but when you lose big then they blame you for being too greedy and they will not help with loans to gamblers without collateral.
