New Bitcoin BTC users are getting hacked
And due to holding small amount, their media publicity is less.

Newbies may be much safer if they follow some simple rules/method described below.

1) Stop visiting pornography websites.
Reason: These sites have the most traps or nets for hacking, moreover, these sites stimulate people's brains, then you will be restless to click anywhere, which is a trap for hackers.

2) Different types of apps/notifications on social media/Facebook like: Future check/What would you look like if you were the opposite sex? / How will you be in the next year, etc., refrain from such activities.

3) If you use an online wallet, always keep the wallet's email address username and passwords separate from other accounts.

4) Do not login to your wallet with mobile if you are new to crypto.

5) Do not download or install unnecessary apps / software.

6) Do not try to update anything too quickly if you want to update various apps or software at any time. Take enough time to verify, check online, then update very coolly.

7) If someone wants to share data or work with team viewer, be careful, if you do not have enough knowledge about team viewer, do not give access or share with team viewer software.

The best are offline wallets like wallet on airgapped devices and like Electrum passport hardware wallet. But be careful of clipboard malware.

Some people can go for multisig. There is a member on this forum that has a passport hardware wallet and using it as 2-of-2 multisig with Sparrow. This is good for holders. It is good if you know what you are doing. I mean knowing the perfect way for recovery and also how to store you seed phrases. Although, generally, you need to protect your seed phrase backup irrespective of the type of wallet.

For online wallets
You can have devices which will have no connection with each other. Be it bluetooth, cable or whatever.
You will disable the app store not to download any app
You will disable the apps not to install any file
You will not use it for downloading
Just for wallet and exchanges purposes
No Whatsapp, no telegram and other social apps. Just for wallet purposes
Use it for small amount of coins.

3) If you use an online wallet, always keep the wallet's email address username and passwords separate from other accounts.

4) Do not login to your wallet with mobile if you are new to crypto.
For your point number 3 if you use an online wallet, do not save the username and password on your browser. You can never be sure of who is watching you remotely or who has remote access to your browser.

For point number 4 , do not log in to online wallet using public wifi either at the bus station, coffee shop, airport, train station or anywhere regardless of how safe you think it is. As long as it is public avoid it.

IMHO, in relation to this matter for most of the newbies it's because they've been attracted to airdrops and it's not just Bitcoin being hacked to them but related to ignorance that they possess.

4) Do not login to your wallet with mobile if you are new to crypto.
How they can access their wallets on their mobile if they won't login? This is making it scary to login to wallet apps. I think rephrasing it into not logging in and connecting it to unknown websites is enough.

And this also applies to the web wallets or anything that you have with your wallets. Just avoid unnecessary websites that you don't know and avoid connecting wallets where you funds at.

Though I'll agree with most of your points but what really matters is knowing how to keep your coins safe. The bast way is by using good and standard wallets and avoid storing your keys online. Most online wallets are valuable to hacks so if you chose to use them, you might consider using little amount in them. Most times if you are visiting such malicious sites like those of pornography you should make sure to use secure browers and avoid clicking allow to some unknown permissions that might be requested. In all, make sure you are able to manage your security well.

1) Stop visiting pornography websites.
Reason: These sites have the most traps or nets for hacking, moreover, these sites stimulate people's brains, then you will be restless to click anywhere, which is a trap for hackers.
Stop visiting ANY website on the device you are using to handle Bitcoin business.  Bitcoin shall be treated the same way you treat any thing else of significant value.  Keep it secure and fenced from the outside world.

2) Different types of apps/notifications on social media/Facebook like: Future check/What would you look like if you were the opposite sex? / How will you be in the next year, etc., refrain from such activities.
Why is that?  I am actually curious, has there ever been such cases of being hacked due to these small quizzes?

3) If you use an online wallet, always keep the wallet's email address username and passwords separate from other accounts.
Do NOT use an Online Wallet other than for negligible amounts you would not mind losing.

5) Do not download or install unnecessary apps / software.
This is a good point.  But again.  I would not advise any body to use the device they use to store Bitcoin for any thing else other than strictly Bitcoin business.  I would not advise using it even for Centralized Exchanges.  All I would store there is the Wallet.

And if you STILL need to install something, make sure it is from a reputable source, the official version and download link and VERIFY.  Can not verify?  DO NOT INSTALL IT on the device that contains your Bitcoin Wallet.

6) Do not try to update anything too quickly if you want to update various apps or software at any time. Take enough time to verify, check online, then update very coolly.
I think this is vague.  The proper explanation is that updates sometimes contain Zero Day Bugs.  This means the Developers missed a bug and overlooked it, released the update with the vulnerability and it gets patched quickly, typically within hours or the next day.  This is why it is important to usually skip updates the first one to three days.  Unless the version you are running has a significant vulnerability itself.  At that point, I would stop using the Software entirely until a proper solution is found and a patch is broadcasted to the Internet.

7) If someone wants to share data or work with team viewer, be careful, if you do not have enough knowledge about team viewer, do not give access or share with team viewer software.
Who even uses Team Viewer today.  To be honest with you, last time I heard of this Application was when I read about some Indian Scammer who used this or a similar Application to gain access and create a false Virus to Scam some body out of their money.

I would not give ANY BODY remote access to my computer.  The idea itself sounds very dangerous to me.  You are giving a stranger complete access to your computer, which most likely travels through a Server between you and the other party anyway.  Why do this, particularly on a computer which has sensitive information on it.

New Bitcoin BTC users are getting hacked
And due to holding small amount, their media publicity is less.
Nebies in Bitcoin are getting hard because they acted ignorantly to learn about Bitcoin and its security before starting their investment. It is a criterion to know how to keep our wallets safe. For years now there has always been awareness on various crypto blogs, bitcoin forums, and social media, where individuals share information on how to secure their assets yet many persons ignore this and just rush into buying bitcoins. Why won't they fall for traps?

In conclusion, I still believe more and more people will still fall for scams and hacks because of ignorance and lack of awareness i just hope the experience teaches them a good lesson so that they will take security in cryptocurrency seriously.

This is not about pornography websites, but you're pointing out a pirated sites. If you access a legit pornography sites e.g. onlyfans, pornhub etc and you subscribe them, you will be fine.

Quote
2) Different types of apps/notifications on social media/Facebook like: Future check/What would you look like if you were the opposite sex? / How will you be in the next year, etc., refrain from such activities.
I'm not sure you will get hacked by clicking those popups, instead you probably end up wasting time for watching the ads.

Quote
3) If you use an online wallet, always keep the wallet's email address username and passwords separate from other accounts.
Not only for exchange, but you need to use different username and password to any websites.

Quote
4) Do not login to your wallet with mobile if you are new to crypto.
There's no correlation at all, login using PC doesn't make you safe.

Quote
5) Do not download or install unnecessary apps / software.
I agree.

Quote
6) Do not try to update anything too quickly if you want to update various apps or software at any time. Take enough time to verify, check online, then update very coolly.
This related to phishing emails where they ask you to update the apps, but if you update your apps using Play Store (Android) or App Store (IOS), you will be fine.

Quote
7) If someone wants to share data or work with team viewer, be careful, if you do not have enough knowledge about team viewer, do not give access or share with team viewer software.
I agree, better to avoid it.

5) Do not download or install unnecessary apps / software.

from the points you gave, this is the most important point that beginners need to pay attention to. because installing applications carelessly is very vulnerable to the security of the device where the bitcoin wallet is installed, especially installing applications through untrusted sources, one should avoid this. there are many cases where devices are hacked by hackers because they carelessly install applications from untrusted sources and if bitcoin owners don't want their devices to become victims, they should not install applications that are not really needed.

It means login with pc or computer not with mobile which have used different types of apps like whats-app messenger etc

All these you have mentioned are not something new to everyone here in the forum, although I know that there are newbies that may just join and they will actually find this thread useful, therefore, thank you for the reminder.

More to what you mentioned, if there is no orientation, all these will happen without any doubt that is why it’s good to have orientation before venturing into cryptocurrency.

This forum is a good place to ask question so that you will get response from experience users that are already into crypto, always avoid taking advices from social media, and avoid being greedy.

Or just buy a hardware wallet to store your bitcoin and other cryptos. Most of us here, have good safety practice already, to the point that they have separate machines for their "regular" activity, and then another one for let's say bitcointalk account and other crypto related. Others go to the extend of using Unix flavored OS or MacOS as they are seldom targeted by cyber criminals. So good advise here, but it's just basic that majority here have been doing that for years. And you can say that you also need to double or check multiple times the address that you will be sending as there are malwares that can change the recipient address.

All these tips are good, but the most important advice is not to keep your Bitcoin holdings in a computer connected to the Internet or store your seed phrases in it. If acquiring a hardware wallet is difficult regarding cost or shipping to a country that does not legalize Bitcoin, the solution is to use another alternative device for your wallets and for matters related to your investments, where the mistake is to use your primary computer connected to the Internet to browse websites, whether adult or otherwise, as they may contain malicious advertisements and put your computer at risk of automatic download of malicious files. In addition, installing fake extensions or downloading software from unofficial sources or cracks is undoubtedly one of the most reckless actions an investor can take.

I would also like to add that you should be more cautious with email messages. You must check the links before opening them, and it is best to avoid participating in airdrops through received messages. There have been incidents in the past with many phishing emails that appear to be official from various companies. This also reminds us to stay alert about the latest attacks and enable multi-factor authentication.

3) If you use an online wallet, always keep the wallet's email address username and passwords separate from other accounts.

4) Do not login to your wallet with mobile if you are new to crypto.

If you use a noncustodial wallet you don't need an email address all you need is your seed phrase and if you keep your seed phrase in a safe place offline and outside of your device, you're okay. The problem comes when you go about clicking different unverified links. You don't need to click different links you see online. Aside from compromising your wallet, you can also compromise other personal data on your phone and even your phone itself.
If you must use a link, try and verify it.

Also, airdrops are another way of compromising your wallet. There are airdrops that hackers use to compromise your wallet. I'm not saying all airdrops are scams, but if there's a way to verify the airdrop and the links before clicking.

It is very simple to go by, take note of the following steps for safety as a newbie and you will be free.

1.Just avoid unsolicited links in which you don't know their source.
2. Don't make unnecessary downloads as well from random sites.
3. make use of a non custodial wallet and don't keep your passwords or seeds safe online.
4. if possible, make your wallet to be on an air gapped device which is not connected to the internet.
5. Maintain a privacy use of the device you're having and don't let anyone have access to the device than you alone.

Just to add. While browsing through a site be vigilant enough not to allow or permit certain cookies online as some do raise privacy concerns through the tracking of your browsing activities. There are sites when I want to make use of i do go incognito for privacy sake. I think this could be helpful in preventing certain data hacks.

1. People have their rights to masturbate, science claimed its healthy if done right, I think the best advice should have been that they should not store crypto on the same PC or computers that they use to visit any websites online, crypto should be kept offline.

2. Its called online survey, the activities you advice people to stay away from is what is making some people money, like I have said, keep your crypto assets off your online activities.

3. You shouldn't be using online wallets in the first place, if any crypto projects are offering online wallets that's a red flag, because even the team can betray their investors and steal their funds putting the blame on a hack, meanwhile its an inside job.

4. Any crypto wallet that requires login can't be trusted, a reliable crypto wallet need your recovery seed to access your funds, and it must be a airgapped device or a paper wallet, the ultimate goal is to stay off the internet.

5. Correct, some apps have malicious attempts in them and after you installed you will give access to your data without you knowing, only download apps that you need and make sure you go through the app official website for the right link, too many fake apps with the same name are on app stores everywhere.

6. If you want to update app that is already installed on your phone or PC you must wait for the app to bring the update itself, and update using the official website or through the installed app itself.

7. Team viewer on PC I guess? Just don't store your crypto on your PC, get a open source airgapped hardware wallet or generate the wallet using Electrum wallet with no internet access available.
