People scared to Invest online because of the failures of Ponzi schemes

My people make una good evening, today I wan bring up something wey I notice for this our country Nigeria when it comes to this crypto space, We know say sometimes ago we been get plenty Ponzi schemes wey been dey collect money from people they double am, The most popular one been MMM, so after sometime MMM crash, and many people been really buy into the idea of investing online because MMM been dey deliver, but with time MMM come crash and most people money come hang,
Today i been dey discuss this Bitcoin halving with one of my female colleague, I been dey try wan convince say make she follow me Invest as I foresee a bull run by next year, but she come say she no go fit invest her money for  any online business again after waiting MMM do her,  I asked her why, she say she lost over 900k, I come dey try give her reasons why the two they completely different but she no gree , she say online business Na online business no matter how I want paint am, so my people I no know how una see am.

I know these kind of experience has discourage alot of Nigerians to invest in Bitcoin or even cryptocurrency as a whole or do any online business but some have been to come out of it, since they now know/see the reason why is good to invest in Bitcoin and also avoid ponzi schemes, scam coins and token including knowing how to keep their coins save.

Though many are still living in fear but with time they will know better about these scams and true investment like bitcoin.

the thing be say because of the ponzi schemes wey don affect people for the country, many people come see anything wey concise internet and investment as scam related thing and na why people no even wan hear or understand watin Bitcoin dey all about. Some people dey even class am join say na yahoo something and na watin dem get and so far as you do anything related to internet dem don call you fraudster.

My brother, the best thing you fit do na you do so. If she dey hell bent on it, then nothing you fit do than to leave her be. I been dey like her because I lost money to a ponzi scheme back in the day na why I been no dey too optimistic about Bitcoin when I first heard about it until I joined the forum. MMM, Twinkas and the rest of other ponzi schemes were big hits to all Nigerians who invested into there scheme that crashed long time ago. But however, that one don become long story as many people don dey vibe into online investment little by little after since stuffs like affiliate marketing, Cryptocurrency investment and many more legit other investment & online money making medium came into place. But the only problem we get now be say many Nigerians no wan work, but yet them dey expect to earn, which is why til today many people still dey fall victim to scam, simply because they don dey use to the MMM style wey you go invest 2k today to get 4k in next 3days.  And the sad truth be say nothing like that exist, as they are all potential scams

Correct me if wrong. MMM was not a ponzi scheme but a pyramidal scheme. It was a pyramidal scheme.

People that are scared to invest online not because of ponzi or pyramidal scheme but because of ignorance (lack of knowledge and experience). We all know that MMM was a pyramidal scheme and not legit as it was a pyramidal scheme.

Or was MMM offering any product or services? It was not than being a pyramidal scheme which the CBN or the government even warned you about. But some peoole may not want to believe as government can lie sometimes but if you make the research, you will see a lot of warning online about MMM.

We knew it was going to collapse at the beginning of the scheme because no ponzi or pyramidal scheme will continue to exist without collapse. It will collapse. And it collapsed.

First of all, in situations like this especially to an individual who have encountered such problems in their previous investments you have to lay a better foundation by explaining thoroughly with evidence and the success rate of bitcoin over the years and making them understand properly about investing in bitcoin and the difference between bitcoin investment and the previous one's they have invested in . You can share some resources and information to help your colleague feel more comfortable about investing in bitcoin, you can encourage her to do some research about bitcoin on her own for proper knowledge of it.

You are correct @ the poster, Ponzi scheme has really thought people lot, but I think Bitcoin is solid and doesn't seem to be a Ponzi or scam, yes because of previous experiences from online that didn't end up well people are now being more careful, i will say it will good for us to do things based on our decision so that when things didn't work out the way we want we will not blame anyone. For me Bitcoin is not a ponzi neither is it a scam this is my own believe I don't care about yours. It is Bitcoin I know.

Don't try too hard to convince someone about btc investment because if you persist such person go think say dem don come again  

Wetin you go do na to allow the person monitor the flow and fluctuations of your wallet if you can show the person oo. Otherwise, you fit give the person link to CMC or coingecko so that them too go begin do their own research. Many people have been scammed online and so when you begin introduce am to strangers like that wey no get anything to do online, it becomes difficult for them to listen to you.

After reading everything, I decided to make a little research about MMM and according to my research Nigerians lost billions to MMM and I'm not surprised. I don't know the creator behind the MMM project but I heard alot about the creator and everything but all what I got to understand during that season is MMM is a ponzi scheme. No investment is risk free or anything associated with the internet is not risk free. Bitcoin alone is different but the funny thing here is anyone can fall victim to some scam method sometimes, scammers  will not even come direct but sometimes if an investor fails to choose wisely like wallet choice etc it's likely such investor might be a victim. Where to store your coins matters a lot cause some of the newly wallet are ponzi scheme but unknowingly to an investor or random exchange. At the first place why will anyone trust an exchange or a third party to store their coin. Dear op convincing someone who has fallen victim through online stuff is difficult but the honest truth not all investment will stand as a ponzi scheme so people like this should change their mindset
