First of all, I am not an active reporter, but I know there are many reputed users, even low ranked users, who actively report fake, spam, scams, irrelivent, and abusive posts, making the forum cleaner than ever.
So my question is to those who have 90–100% success in reporting accuracy, how do you guys report a post? To be more specific, what rules/guides do you guys follow when reporting, and what do you write in the comment section? Is there any format for reporting?
For example, if it's a low-quality post, do you just write "low-quality" in the comment section and be on with it? Or if someone is trying to buy-sell merits, do you write "merit abusers" and report it?
1. Spams 2. Off topic 3. Scams 4. Low quality and so on...
I would really appreciate it if you guys gave me some advice on this. Currently, I have only 9 reports with 89% accuracy. Ignore any mistakes or choice of words!

89% is good enough for your first 9 reports. When reporting, I try to make the job as easy for the mods as possible so they do not waste too much time on that report. The user must have broken a rule or made an honest mistake for me to make a report, that rule is what I use as a reference;
• Consecutive post from the same user, • Post made in the wrong board, • Low quality post (spam) etc.
I also recommend an action sometime;
• Wrong board. A better fit in altcoin section.
I add links to my report if it will help. This I mostly do if I'm recommending a user to be nuked. I share a link to the post history so the mods can glance through the reference and decide on an action.
Try to keep your reports as concise and straight to the point as possible.

Here is a guide that's created with all the details : [Unofficial Guide] Reporting effectively
I don't report a post unless it's completely wrong, shit, AI or made in wrong board. I will add detailed description about why I am reporting in the comment box, for example if the thread is created in wrong board I will type "Wrong board - please move to 'xxx' board/child board."

I will usually just write a brief description of what the user did wrong in the report. You don’t need a long drawn out explanation, a few details is enough for moderators to understand the reason why somebody is being reported.
If a violation is egregious enough, then it might be necessary to write a post in one of the dedicated threads for AI spammers, malware links, etc. or creating a new thread in the Reputation section when somebody has alt accounts they are using for behavior that is detrimental to the forum or a campaign.

Usually I wrote short comment e.g. off topic, delete, post in a row etc. If I'm not mistaken, there was someone report a post just fill a number on the description, let's say someone post in a row, he only wrote 32 and then click report. but I know there are many reputed users, even low ranked users, who actively report fake, spam, scams, irrelivent, and abusive posts, making the forum cleaner than ever.
I disagree, most of users didn't care to report a post. I've seen many topic that was posted in a wrong board and there are some users post "@OP this is not the right place, move to X", but after next few days, the topic is still there. If they really report the topic, it will be moved by moderators in less than 24 hours. 3. Scams
The moderators didn't moderate scams. Some low quality scam topic (copy paste) usually it will be deleted, but other detailed scam topic sometimes didn't being deleted.

If it is made on a wrong board, you can just report 'move to altcoin board' etc or mention the board you want it to be moved to. If it is plagiarism, just report 'plagiarism'. The moderator will find it easy to understand. If it is spam, just report 'spamming' If it is off-topic, just report 'off-topic' If it is scam, just report 'scam'
These are the common ones.
Make the report as short as possible so that moderators will easily understand and not see it exhausting.

Currently, I have only 9 reports with 89% accuracy.
When you are about to report a post, there is a message there that says you shouldn't worry about the accuracy of your reports, as one accurate report means more than many inaccurate ones, so 89% accuracy from 9 posts is acceptable, and as long as you are not reporting posts that clearly do not break any rule, then you're fine. If it is scam, just report 'scam'
I don't think the moderators are going to do anything with such report because the forum does not moderate scams.

Start to report scam posts and see that they are deleted if the moderator see it also as scam. But there are few that are left, this is when some people have posted on the scam thread with warnings that people should avoid the person because he is a scammer. Even moderator still always take some down despite the post warning of other members. Scam is not moderated is just a warning for people to avoid scam by all possible means and that the scammer will not be banned, but his posts can be deleted despite the warning.

~snip~ So my question is to those who have 90–100% success in reporting accuracy, how do you guys report a post? To be more specific, what rules/guides do you guys follow when reporting, and what do you write in the comment section? Is there any format for reporting?
First of all, you must know what you can/need to report, and for that it is best to be familiar with the unofficial rules of the forum. As for the reports themselves, I think they should contain the reason for reporting the post, and in some cases a link that can help the moderators make the right decision. For example, if we report plagiarism or AI content, we should not expect the moderators to check such content themselves, but we should make their job easier and direct them to a link that shows concrete evidence. There are two topics where such evidence can be posted, and then a report can be made with a link to a post containing relevant information. See links 1 & 2

Or if someone is trying to buy-sell merits, do you write "merit abusers" and report it?
I just want to bring up this part of your post. when it comes to buying/selling merits or merit abusers, I think a thread is more appropriate since the person who is buying or selling merits needs to be negatively tagged and preferably by a DT member (at least that is what I think) so the negative feedback is visible or maybe a flag created against them.

Nobody is even going to make a topic that they are selling merits, so there are no such topics for you to report to the moderator. Merit abuse is very difficult to prove on the forum, and unless you have concrete evidence, it is better not to make a thread falsely accusing users of merit abuse. If merit abuse involves a merit source, then it is a bigger case and if proven the admin would remove the user from that position and they will be tagged, but if it involves a non-merit source, too many users won't even be interested.

I encountered one or two times in our local board where a newly created account was seen posting about merit selling in the open via telegram. That's why I bought that up.

As simple as possible, noted.

I've made 24 reports with 96 accuracy. I understand that moderators are humans, sometimes they may have many reports on their desks and they may not have the patience to skim through lengthy walls of text. So whenever I'm reporting a post, in my description, I try as much as possible to make it very brief and to the point for it to be understood. For instance, if someone is spamming, I simply write spamming.

Many active reporters are dubbed as scam busters because they are quick to point out scam and act on it. However scam is not moderated on the forum. The community has to do deal with scammers in our own way so you can take that off your list. For reporting, I follow the template by Welsh and it’s been working well for me. So far have 245 good reports and 4 bad reports.

When we are making a report, it is important that we are been specific, avoid beating around the bush, go ahead straight to the point, if possible you can include a reference or state the reason why you think the post should be reported, just as OP has made the category on how we could term a post from a user to fall under, them also, if we are not sure of what we want to make report on, then we should rather desist from making such than reporting on a baseless accusation, that is why some of our reports could not be hundred percent accuracy because sometimes, we judge out of our personal emotions and that is far different from what should be expected of us to use in making a report.

Many members violate the rules of the forum, especially Newibe members, and post unacceptable things here. Therefore, it is the responsibility of every member, when he finds one of the topics or posts that violate the rules of the forum and the rules of each section, to report them to the moderators and administrators and enter the comment and the reason for your report. The reason must be clearly, accurately, and succinctly explained as it facilitates the time and effort for them to review it and take quick measures against it. Every member must be honest and truthful in his reports. He should not report members’ posts based on a personal conflict between him and the one who reported his posts or because of malice, animosity, or the like.
Through all our efforts of our dear moderators' and our honesty in providing these accurate reports, the Bitcointalk community will be safer, more prosperous, and without any flaws.

I would like to add that the moderators are not responsible for either fraud or the transfer of merit if we talk about sending reports to them. You can create a topic, and there will be a discussion about whether your judgments are correct or not. But the point of consistently sending reports is also important. After a certain amount of sending reports and receiving certain ratings from moderators, you will see for yourself what you need and what you do not need to send and how to format them correctly. Don’t let bad reports scare you at first; you don’t need to strive for perfection. Chasing numbers sometimes completely kills the whole point that you want to help keep the forum clean.

I'm sure there are other categories for reporting. I mentioned the buying and selling of merits and scam because those were the only topics that came to mind at the time of my writing. Yes I have seen that, at certain times, people would create threads in reputation board about merit abuses.
Many active reporters are dubbed as scam busters because they are quick to point out scam and act on it. However scam is not moderated on the forum. The community has to do deal with scammers in our own way so you can take that off your list.
A small question, how did some people came to be known as scambusters and spambusters? I can only relate to scams since many user create threads, which gives them recognition as scambusters. But for spam, isn't our reports only visible to us? How did the community knew that I had 1k good reports or 10k good reports? Just a curious question.

Some members of the forum published such information publicly, and some names appeared in Top reporters. Also, if you look at the links from my previous post, those who make reports in them are usually recognized by other forum members and awarded in the Bitcointalk Community Awards
