At current prices - what would be your choice?

The two coins you mentioned are both great project if anyone ask me and I can not advise any body not to invest in those coins if the person actually wants to invest into alt coins. For me, I can as well invest into those two coins if I wanted to invest into altcoins but am not a fan of altcoins now and it's for a reason best known to me. If you want to invest into altcoins, don't pick only one, the reason is because you might not be right about the pump of that token or coin but if you invest in a few of the altcoins, you can be lucky to make profit from any of them but you must invest only the amount you can afford to lose. Take for example that I want to buy some altcoins now, I will buy SOL and MATIC and a few other strong projects like BNB &, ETH.

Why these two are choices? It's not like they are in competition with each other. Other is a token in ethereum and other is a whole new chain. But if i had to choose, matic has more room to grow and adopted by reddit. Without reddit's endorcement i would choose SOL in a heartbeat as i don't really see value in matic, even though it has more room to grow with lower marketcap.

Layer 2 solutions seems like too many steps for newbs. New people don't understand L1 vs L2 and what needs eth and what not. Nor they should be expected to. So i find that sol is more newb friendly, at least for now.

If you look into the hype factor then Solana is good investment. For long term hold matic will be the right crypto to invest. Solana is a blockchain and slowly and steadily it's ecosystem is growing but the issue here is that it doesn't have a lot of utility projects. The hype currently is due to the fact that meme coins using Solana network are a hit.

The crypto markets fluctuates just as the volatility of the crypto coins itself. So, I don't think it's a good advice to facilitate on Investing in any of the coins just because of the current market price attractiveness.
SOL had been a great coin and doing well within the AltCoins in the Crypto sphere so for that I consider investing in the coins based on my research of understanding the coins future values.

The only stupid traders will still hold or trade matic. Matic represents a lack of hype and whales, as you can see that it was rarely having good tokens. Many whales are concentrating on solana rather than holding their money on matic. I'd rather sell all of my matic and buy solana instead of keeping a token that has reached its peak performance like matic. Matic is only useful as a payment system, but think about the potential of these blockchains. In comparison to the matic, I believe solana is in the lead caused by it can give you various benefits like airdrop, yield and many more.

You can compare solana and matic using metrics such as daily volume, marketcap, or even TVL on the blockchain itself. In comparison to the matic, I believe solana is in the lead. Matic represents a lack of users.

We've seen many meme tokens from Solana become major cryptos, with market capitalizations in the billions. What about Matic? I will definitely choose solana over matic.

Solana's token performance has shown that it is currently superior to the matic.

Yes, it is too risky for RNDR, but not for solana.

You must always use ATH as your primary consideration when determining the size of the risk for investing in any token or coin. Rndr has reached a new all-time high and continues to trade at a high price and the risk for you to lose your money is so big. Your money can be dumped at any time after it has fallen back down after it was always upwards. Solana has not even come close to reaching its ATH and the chance for the coin to increase even higher is still there. This was my primary consideration in choosing solana over RNDR. I must say if solana is less risky compared to the rndr.

It should be noted that you will be able to stake your solana to receive a free airdrop through platforms such as https://www.sanctum.so/ and many liquid staking platforms, which will provide you with the infrastructure to obtain new tokens from your solana.

Rndr is rapidly increasing due to the hype. You may see a major crash with rnder after it loses its hype. It's just a matter of time. Investing in a token that has already reached a new all-time high is undoubtedly a risky decision.
It's best if you replace it with another token.

One year ago everybody praised MATIC

One year ago people were contemplating whether Solana, will survive, this is the irony of the crypto market, a developer team can make all the difference, if they're proactive like the Solana team. As it stands today, Solana, is ahead of MATIC, and almost every comments on this thread has attested to that, but MATIC, dev. team can come out strong with new innovations like Solana, and change their naretive, because nobody is talking much about them now.

If you notice that Solana's market value rose above $200 this year, you look at the one-year gap, and you can see how Solana has outperformed. Prior to posting saw MATIC at $0.686 and Solana at $149.53. While SOL made a huge difference in the market in terms of value this year, MATIC remained stable. I think solana coin may enter new ATH in future. However, it does not mean that Matic Coin will not be able to make a difference in the future, the value of this coin is likely to increase in the future. Here only the relative difference between the two coins at the current position can be analyzed. But it is up to you to make a personal decision whether you invest in the coins.

Solana and Matic both are doing great. Solana is currently the leader in L1 networks while Matic is the leader of L2 both by transaction volume and frozen coins.
In long term I guess Solana and other L1 networks would overshadow matic. Being a L2 on a network like Ethereum is both good and bad in several ways but in long run people would prefer speed, cost and flexibility. Matic is still a good hold for the next bull run but I don't recommend holding it long term while Solana could stay here much longer as it's just rising and rising. There ought to be newer competition in future but its ultimate killer is far from sight.

i don't really think about matic these days, too many L2 being released it obscurred my views of matic as an investment, i think investing in newer L2 means its gonna be more prospectful investment than matic, despite the fact that matic has been trying hard to make their coin relevant but really its only good for its cheap tx fee but other L2 also having the same cheap tx fee anyway and the dapps in newer l2 are just better.

now we are talking about solana, this blockchain among the most used it has so many meme coins, the dapps are valued by hundred millions like jup that could compete with uniswap despite just newly introduced.
you can guess that the growth of this blockchain is significant, it is still below BNB but it also has the history of overtaking whatever blockchain that are valued above solana except just BTC and ETH.
i'd bet my life saving in sol rather than matic, it has more potential to go high in the future.
but then again its just my 2 cents take it with grain of salt since i could be wrong.

     They are both okay for me, and both are good long-term holds. Now if I'm shopping, I think it's better for me to hold the Matic. Yes, the performance that the Solana is showing now is good, and the Matic is not really that noisy.

     But I believe that before Bitcoin really rallies, it is for sure that Polygon will surprise the crypto community with the opportunity to start taking off, and then Matic will follow for sure.
