it's always important to do your own research when you want to invest in something and even if a celebrity influenced you to invest in something that they are promoting, you still need to do your own research and understand what they are promoting. sadly a lot of people do not do this and just blindly follow what their idol says and the end result is either they lose their money because they don't know what they are doing or lose their money because it is a scam.

Research has become a necessity prior to investing. Even if most celebrities prefer to invest in that type of investment, still the risk to lose will always be there knowing all investments don’t have guarantees to end up profiting. So don’t just be a copy cat, but do your own diligence to learn. Investment will be more successful if you have the good knowledge and have good strategies to make it work, and not just like you rely on other people’s decision making, regardless if they are celebrities or not.

Taking a decision based on your own research is a wise stance. Listen to everyone and do whatever your heart wants. That is, you can convince your heart and mind that it is beneficial for me to do it. But all these stances should be within a principled circle, because acting with trust is not wise but foolish. Educate yourself first, then get experience and then act with your own mind. according to your research take a decision. So if you have chosen the right thing, then indeed you will have profit. 
 
Most of the people sometimes follow people i.e. they follow the research of influencers. It is true that they indicate the right time, but they can also give the wrong informstion which can cause you to lose. So it is not better that you act on your own research, which is the mentality of a wise person. 
 
So it's meant to say that taking a decision based on your own research can lead to a better result for you.

No, celebrities might have influence Bitcoin to be mainstream, but I doubt that is the main reason why some of us are in this market. And if I'm not mistaken, this celebrities just went out around 2017, whereas there could be members here who have been in this community prior to that. I don't understand what you mean by better results, Bitcoin has been the prime mover of crypto and so it's the first crypto that everyone will invest and it involved itself from payment system by Satoshi to a investment, as an assets or hedge. And for those who haven't seen the roast of Tom Brady, it's even mentioned by someone.

It normal for most people to be easily influenced by their favorite celebrities so I think if one is a fan of a celebrity who's big on Cryptocurrency especially Bitcoin them they could easily be lured into the market if they financially stable to purchase it, take for example during post halving there were lots of talks about the halving from celebrities, Crypto whales and paid actors now come to think of it, don't you think those who got little knowledge of it could be easily influenced easily when they heard it from their favourite celebrities? I've come across someone who comes from a family where tattoo is not tolerated but because of his love for a certain artist he had to tattoo his skin now such person could decide to invest in Bitcoin if same celebrity preaches about it. Nevertheless I won't advise anyone to invest in Bitcoin or any other Cryptocurrency without a proper knowledge about it, cause I things go wrong those influencers won't be there to console you.

First I'm not excepting such a question.

Yes I know a lot of people are fascinated by the likes of their celebrities but does that really make any sense? Like to jump into something because someone you don't know or know as a result of constant watching in movies or music does advertise or show off his or her achievements via a thing that you don't really have good knowledge about. It's more like looking in to a river and decided to jump in then to realise that it's more deep than expected.

Although one way or the other it's good to try out things whether you know them or not but buying bitcoin or investing in bitcoin when you don't really know about it is only going to end up putting the person in a hot soup as when it's volatile nature shows up it will seem like the world is over for such person.
All I say is it's best to research and find out how things work before putting a dime into it instead of trying and then regret your actions.

I did not come into the Bitcoin space because of any celebrity or influencer. My curiosity brought me here and that the success I have had all these years is what has kept me going. Celebrities do not a sway in my decisions because most of the celebrities promote stuff that they don’t understand. They promote anything as long as they are getting paid, very few of them make research on the stuff they advertise on their platform.

Personally, I would never invest into something just because some celebrity or influencer talked about it because in the majority of cases they have no idea what they are saying and/or promoting, they just care about getting the money. Or is there anyone in here that believes that celebrities who live in a different world from the rest of us actually care about normal people? I can't even stand commercials with celebrities, why should I buy a tv or a beer or get a certain credit card just because an athlete or a singer is promoting it? Guys, think using your own brain, don't live caring about celebrities.

Celebrities promote many things in exchange for money which we call influence. they create video content only to show people with no guarantee that they will engage in it. So of course it is important to do your research before investing money in anything. But I am always encouraged to invest in Bitcoin. but I don't invest in influencers when they promote them for anything else. and Bitcoin has no regulatory body so I don't think the influencers get paid to promote Bitcoin. so I will definitely invest in Bitcoin

Of course not. Making Bitcoin investments is something I came to understand properly and like when I joined the forum as well as spent more time here. During my newbies days I had a vague understanding of how Bitcoin investments work mainly because of the wrong and funny explanations made by people like social media influencers out there. I can bet you that although a great deal of people have heard about Bitcoin and it's potential, only a few of them are fully aware of how it works.

To answer your question I would say I never follow any celebrity when it comes to investing in Bitcoin. Investing in Bitcoin is a purely personal matter where I do not follow anyone else's predictions or suggestions. Celebrities often make announcements to hype up Bitcoin and investing according to their announcements will definitely lead to losses rather than gains. Moreover, an ideal investor never invests in Bitcoin by watching others or following a celebrity, rather he invests in Bitcoin by doing his own research and market analysis. An investor does not invest all his capital in bull market according to someone's suggestion but he invests in Dollar Cost Averaging i.e. DCA method where there is definitely a high probability of profit in that investment.

If that's the case for me then I would've lose huge amounts of money already. It's because there are many celebrities who are promoting different coins in the past, and even until now (although it's way fewer already).

I have been influenced by the fact that I can make money if I invest into Bitcoin that's why I learned at least the basics of it and invested on it. After all, many look at Bitcoin as an asset that many believe that they can make money if they invest into it. On the other hand, I also look at it as a currency as well. Investing not only on Bitcoin, but with other projects as well just because of a celebrity isn't a good idea because you might lose money in the end. I remember when John McAfee continued to shill some ICO's back in 2017-2018. Many made profits off of it, but most of them lost their money because they invested on a project he shilled.

Overall, investing just because a celebrity told so isn't a great thing to do. You must have your own reason as to why you should invest into Bitcoin and any other coins out there.

Exactly. Bitcoin aside, many celebrities are being used to promote something, and of course, because a celebrity endorses it, expect that many people will be attracted to it and start to follow it, even if it is not just bitcoin or crypto currency-related. For me no, I started doing bitcoin or I have know bitcoin because one of my classmate in college introduce it to me by offering me side jobs related to earning bitcoin and from that I started to dig deep and widen my knowledge when it comes to bitcoin and crypto currency and I'm thankful to the person that introduce me to this industry because it keeps me making extra income.

But I don't usually follow those celebrities who're promoting or endorsing some other coins because it's a trend now. Just a mention of a certain currency by a celebrity can be enough to attract potential investors, but I don't believe in that because I follow my own analysis, and before I engage in a new currency or project, I do my own research.

Following celebrities/influencers in the market is not too bad because through it we will be able to access or know projects that may have potential. But whether to invest or not will depend, we need to research and fully analyze the potential of the project before making a decision. I invested in Bitcoins back in 2016-17 when Bitcoins were not so popular. I hardly doubt that at that time any celebrity was aware of this fantastic crypto.
