This is a true story: after learning about the forum, I went to see a friend for assistance. He helped me set up an account and then, when I tried to ask him for help posting, he refused and told me that since we are not close, I would have to learn how to post on the forum on my own. I found it difficult to ask him questions about how the forum operated, and after several months, his number was unreachable. Finally, one Sunday after church, we got together, and I took it upon myself to ask him for advice on the platform, all he could say was to post on the beginners' forum if you needed any help. Since then, I have been posting, watching, and learning from the community, but I still want to say that even though I'm learning the hard way, it has given me a lot more confidence that I can succeed on my own with perseverance and hard work.

I wouldn’t call this learning the hard way. What’s really hard in reading the guides in Beginners & help? You’re here to improve your knowledge of bitcoin, studying is the only way to achieve that. I believe this is how most of us learnt to use the forum, we didn’t have someone spoon feeding us. I suggest you remove that thought from your mind. Your account was registered months before mine but you have been inconsistent in the forum hence the merit/rank gap between us.

I wasn't informed about the forum in the same way, and it took me some time to figure out how to use it. I would have been more consistent if I had known that the beginners' and help forum could aid me with my issue. The only thing I was worried about posting would have been having my account disabled.

Op, to be frank I saw your topic title as weird, I don't know how anyone can acquire knowledge the hard way especially when you are referring to this forum because knowledge here is free and open for everyone even non-members of this forum. What I can see is your problem is from the fact that you don't learn yourself but wants your friend to teach you whereas he already introduced you to where you can get the knowledge yourself, actually I hope you understand now that with your past mentallity you have totally limits yourself to almost nothing when you could have just be learning for years and become knowledgeable like your friend or even more than.

I wasn't informed about the forum in the same way, and it took me some time to figure out how to use it. I would have been more consistent if I had known that the beginners' and help forum could aid me with my issue. The only thing I was worried about posting would have been having my account disabled.
I do you expect us to believe this, when your post history shows you were a frequent poster at the beginners & Help board

Yes agree with you, if OP wants to be active regularly and study he can be as knowledgeable as his friend but it will cost a lot of his time. From what I understand from his post history, he created the account about three years ago but he was not active in the forum regularly and did not study. So OP now thinks knowledge has to be acquired the hard way.

To OP I would say if you want to gain knowledge about forums or currency you need to study more because. There is no option but to study. Because you have already wasted a lot of time, it is not right for you to waste any more time. Harden your mind and mind setup you will learn it.

You (not just you though, I noticed many newbies presenting it that way) are talking like using a discussion forum is some sort of a rocket science, something very complicated. I mean, all that you need in order to use is to be able to read and write and that's basically it.

I guess for majority of newbies, they really find it hard starting to learn in the forum most especially if their eagerness and interest are not that deep, and they aren’t highly motivated to learn even out of the context. But all throughout of the learning process, you get to become used to it and learn new words and insights every now and then, until you can finally say that learning is not actually hard, as long as you also do your part of going into extra research and studying.

Again, I don’t think you made the effort to be part of the community. If you did, you would have read the forum rules and learned that posting frequently cannot result in your account being banned. The only reasons why an account can be banned is if the account committed plagiarism or is evading a ban. Also noticed you started posting in your local board today, I guess you just found that out as well.

if you read the rules and regulations of the forum very well even without your friend telling you on what to do I'm pretty sure you can find your way around the forum, because from there you're going to know the dos and donts of the forum. However I could remember the first time I was introduced in this platform, it was through WhatsApp that I got introduced, I was not familiar with the forum I don't know the dos and donts of the forum so for me to find my way around the forum, what I do is to go through those  rules and regulations that is governing the forum and as well reading threads of high ranked members about how the forum works. that's when i started finding my way around the forum, if you read the rules and regulation of the forum you will see some certain things that you need to avoid, so as to avoid your account been disabled.

We are came from starters and I understand your friend don't want to spoonfeed you so that you can learn on your own. Learning that way is quite hard if you don't know where to start but your friend has given you the path and direction of where to start. And as you initiate, that really helped your way out of it and learned the process. Good job if you've gained your confidence because that's what you have lacked of from the beginning when your friend has directed you what to do. We're all continually learning here so, I wish you the success not just from learning but actually why everyone is on this community and market, and that's about our investments in the crypto market most especially by holding Bitcoin.

OP, it's been a while since you opened the account, the first thing you need to do is become a forum regular. The important thing is that if you are in the habit of reading where the senior members of the forum are discussing what topics, what threads they are writing, then I don't think you will have any problem with posting. If you go from being active in the forum for 2-1 days and then come to the forum after a month or two then everything will become difficult for you, then it will feel like I am learning the hard way. I say be regular, give it enough time, the more time you give the more you will learn and the later it will seem very simple.

To be honest, it's not as easy as you make it sound if the person has absolutely no experience with forums such as this. The ability to read and write doesn't make a person understand everything they are seeing, they can't find specific sections and where they need to make their posts, they find it hard to understand the rules, and are always afraid of getting banned or blocked, etc.

I know one can learn all these things if they spend some time experimenting with everything, I have learned everything myself after joining the forum, never had someone guiding me through, I did have some difficulties initially but since I was an internet freak, I figured out everything way earlier than a normal person would do.

Bitcointalk is quite different from what many are used to and I would understand if this was maybe the first or second post made by the OP but look at his post history, he’s made a lot of posts in B&H, gambling board, and Politics & society. Someone with this much activity on their profile should have understood how the forum works by now.

Why most newbies are seeing the forum as something difficult, the forum is a place of discussion, where ideas can be shared not just Bitcoin discussion alone which is the main reason of the forum but in many other areas. Their is nothing difficult and you do not require a friend to help you post unless you are not ready to learn new new ideas and totally against the forum rules. Your account here on the forum should be personal and should not be accompanied by a second or third party.

When you find it difficult to be creative with limited knowledge, courage will give you more freedom in making decisions. After you have registered on the forum and are having trouble finding ideas for making your first post, you must first study and read the topics pinned on several boards to look for information that can help you determine the right board to create a new topic. I'm a little curious about the true story you tell here, your account has been registered since March 21 2021, you should tell me about your difficulties since then when your friend gave you the suggestion to make a post on the B&H Board.

Op, to you I will say your friend did the best for you, he didn't want you to depend on him rather he showed you how you can help yourself which every good friend would do. Learning takes determination, when you set your mind to learn something you won't see it as hard instead as being enjoyable.
Reading and understand is the best to do and then asking questions that disturbs you here in the forum to get helped by seniors.

I can't say it's hard at all. You must study to gain knowledge. I can't find it difficult to gain knowledge from this forum. If you don't study it will be difficult for you to learn anything. I wouldn't be wrong to call you lazy. If you had studied regularly from this forum instead of taking help from your friend after neglecting him, you would have gained knowledge about Bitcoin more easily. I am very surprised to see that you have registered in this forum long ago and have low knowledge about this forum. I won't say I've learned everything, I'm not very old here. But I am trying to broaden my knowledge by studying from sites made for beginners. Hope you stop laziness and study and be able to gain knowledge

It's not going to be nice but I think you really bored him to death with your questions, it's just a forum not quantum physics , (since somebody else took rocket science) , you don't have to write essays from the first posts and there is nobody judging you on every single word you write, or at least nobody judge me so much I would care. I might be different but I'm surprised why so many are so focused so much about the inner forum life, it's a discussion board not second life! Am I the weird one or am I missing something important?

Learning how to post in the forum is not hard but the thing is that we have to understand that forum education is quite different from the knowledge we acquired from other people outside forum, because when looking at it very well you will see that most of the reputable forum members their thread is informative and reading their post always will make you to understand more.

So Learning in the forum is something of time and seriousness, nobody who has taken forum serious that fails to understand the procedures of forum, as a beginner what you have to do is to engage in reading different articles made by other user and make a research before you post, because this forum you have to be innovative before you can come out with something tangible to read.
