I must admit that the pizza of Ale88 is a piece of art. I didn't even know the existence of purple cauliflower  Shocked

Yes it exists, in Italy it is a very well-known and consumed variety of cauliflower, the taste is honestly the same as the others, it just has a different and beautiful appearance to look at. I agree with you though, his pizza is really very artistic, it looks like a painting by Michelangelo Buonarroti  Wink

Self-Custody is a right. Say no to "non-custodial"

I agree that the Ale88 pizza is quite artful and detailed, yet my main question remains whether Ale88 had actually cooked the pizza and provided a picture in cooked status since the art may well not maintain itself within a cooked status, yet at the same time, having the pre-cooked art in a pristine artful look would still have some value even there would be changes upon cooking.  Maybe I am missing something since it seems to me that none of the pictures look cooked.. because the cheese and some of the other parts of the pizza shouldn’t be able to stay with such details and form upon cooking.. so then repeatably, aren't the contestants supposed to submitting cooked version of their pizza?

Or is the submitting of cooked versus uncooked just a question that relates back to how much weight does their pizza get in the eyes of the voters in terms of actual votes that it gets based on the voters' sentiments and weighing of their claims of what they did and if their claims are reflected in the pictures (once we get past the ideas about if the pictures are real and if the explanations about what was done is credible).  It does seem that non-edible pizzas would likely receive fewer votes even though voters may well have differing opinions in regards to what has merit or not (or deserves votes or not).. and surely Ale88 had proclaimed that his artful pizza creation had been within a realm of edible..yet at the same time seeming to having had been accomplished with a lot of good carving skills from seemingly little hands, difficult to imagine the accomplishment of such from the perspectives of some of us (am I just talking about myself?) merely clumsy mortals...

Edit: by the way, upon reading my criticism again, I made a few mostly stylistic changes to my above post, and also I went back to try to find a clear outline of the rules (in OP for example), and some aspects of the rules regarding "what is a pizza" are not even very clear to me.. and surely I know that there had been disputes regarding "what is" pizza definitions over the years.

1) Self-Custody is a right.  Resist being labelled as: "non-custodial" or "un-hosted."  2) ESG, KYC & AML are attack-vectors on Bitcoin to be avoided or minimized.  3) How much alt (shit)coin diversification is necessary? if you are into Bitcoin, then 0%......if you cannot control your gambling, then perhaps limit your alt(shit)coin exposure to less than 10% of your bitcoin size...Put BTC here: bc1q49wt0ddnj07wzzp6z7affw9ven7fztyhevqu9k

This is actually a good question! Well done!
In fact, from the photos it might seem that it is not cooked but if you look carefully, the frame or edge (depends on what you like to call it) of the pizza is obviously cooked.
In Italy, certain foods for pizza do not need to be cooked, such as Parma ham, bresaola or rocket, just to give examples. maybe Ale88 cooked the condiments such as sauces separately to preserve the appearance and taste. And maybe even the cheeses were added after the pizza was cooked! There are some pizzas where the pizza base with the tomato sauce are cooked separately from the toppings, maybe OP replicated this method
These are obviously my suppositions and only Ale88 could confirm or deny what I said! Maybe he himself will explain to us the method he used.

Top 10 Votes – Bitcoin Pizza Day 2025  ( Current Results )

I have seen very few people use ascii tables like you do, this brings me back to the past with a hint of nostalgia, I love the terminal and I loved chats like irc
back to us, thanks for the recap
maybe it would be better to remove the names of the pizza makers to ensure fairness for everyone, maybe just leave the number. what do you think?

I second that request (I already posted it on a similar post on his local board): icopress made an incredible effort trying to make this contest as much fair as possible removing all the names from the voting thread.
But maybe taufik123 had previous agreement with ico.

Using the Ascii table looks neater and thanks for reminding me about the deletion of the name 🙏

No intention to interfere with any judgment, just various Euphoria Voting occurs.
At your suggestion I removed all the names associated to keep it anonymous in person.

Thanks.

Top 10 Votes – Bitcoin Pizza Day 2025  ( Current Results )
Honestly I'm surprised with the current results, I thought the Dorian Nakamoto pizza will reach top 10 votes because it's really unique, I intentionally votes other pizzas because I know the obvious winners. Cheesy

Overall I agree with the top 10 voted pizzas, even though there are few better pizzas, but we still have 2 weeks voting duration, so it might change.

I second that request (I already posted it on a similar post on his local board): icopress made an incredible effort trying to make this contest as much fair as possible removing all the names from the voting thread.
Yeah he even crop or paint it in order to obscure the username of each pizza.

So my suggestion to @taufik123 should use the pictures in voting thread.

I understand that you made this post with good intentions, but with this post you are influencing the opinion of others, thereby interfering with the unbiased voting process. Users see the current leaders ranked by the number of votes received, see the photos, and will be biased towards other pizzas.

Please remove the photos and the voting summary.

Right, true, sacrosanct.
But do something smart, vote now. You can also change your vote later.
Don't wait until the last minutes and I'll tell you why, managing things like this is very time consuming.

For icopress, I don't think it's necessary to close the thread
look at the time and you're all set

if people post 1 second late their vote is invalid, FORUM TIME, so you avoid hassle my friend

as I love icopress, I recently held the altcointalks community award and I understand his pain, it's really complex to manage so many things
so my advice is due to that, avoid constraint to run into problems

I don't know if this question has been asked before. In the pizza contest thread, what was supposed to be the pizza number 30 is labelled "exposition"
Can I vote "exposition"?

I didn't see all this understanding but maybe I'm the one who doesn't see well, and it's ok given that I'm a person who doesn't even understand sarcasm, as LoyceV could see (I define myself as Sheldon Cooper with respect to sarcasm)
Back on topic, there are some solutions that we could put in place, or rather that icopress could put in place to avoid hassles, if you have ideas.
I started mine, let the thread be free but use the forum date to determine who posted in time.
So he doesn't have to stay awake to close the thread

What do you guys think? I was aware with this, but trying to remain calm.

Unfortunately I don't see any rules of giving merit in voting thread, unlike in voting community awards. It's fine for users to give merit for their effort to create their own pizzas, but this one doesn't looks okay.

From the last three pages, I think those users are intentionally vote him because they're from the same locals.

I have noticed an issue in this year's pizza voting, where one person is dishonestly increasing his pizza vote, the voting system should be made in such a way that everyone will selflessly vote for the deserving person, but currently a trend has been created where everyone is voting for pizza number #114 for 1 merit. It has become like a temptation, most people are voting for pizza number #114 for only 1 merit, it looks like a bribe, through this the fairness of voting is being violated and people are voting for number #114 just for the sake of 1 merit. I think this is definitely an illegal issue, where he is getting votes by showing everyone the lure of 1 merit. This issue must be properly judged, because he is trying to win illegally.

It's not okay to Merit votes, they're not "good posts" no matter who they vote for. There's a reason the pizzas don't have a name attached to them in the voting topic, and Meriting users who vote for you is at the very least unethical.

I didn't see if the participants can vote too ?

Of course, participants can vote.
I guess they can even vote for their own pizza as well.

I can add that self-voting, even if not explicitly forbidden by the rules, would be a highly frowned-upon action.
There is an ethics of fairness toward the bitcointalk community that has a higher standing above the letter of the rules of this contest.

Better to discuss this in the discussion thread, and leave this on clean for voting.
