Has anyone found a way to make DOGE transactions private? Not at the protocol level (although it would be cool), but rather a separate solution like a CoinJoin market. I understand Dogecoin is a "meme" coin and all (not meant to be taken seriously), but having a little privacy doesn't hurt. Especially with increasing government surveillance. What do you think? Is it worth making DOGE transactions private? If not, why? Can you achieve optional privacy on Dogecoin? Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

I have highlighted the first in your topic as to why it is waste of time and money to make Dogecoin transaction private. There are many privacy coins that can do the part and not all of them are being chased by the government agencies or are getting delisted from exchanges. If the government comes after all privacy focused coins there will be someone in these times who will come up with a new coin which will be completely untraceable.

There is one old Dogecoin mixing service that existed before. I haven't used it personally, nor do I know if they are very active or not. But back then, there was some speculation that the service offered privacy' protection, which I don't know how effective that is. Since it's a matter of funds, you need to be careful. You can search on Google for "Dogecoin mixer." But there were also several warnings from users who doubted the transparency's legitimacy. But if you really care about enhancing your Dogecoin privacy, you will need to do a little work either by migrating your holdings into layer 2 (like ERC-20) or under the Omni network and operating only on Dex-supported exchanges, or you can swap it to privacy coins like Monero using Dex, then later convert back to Dogecoin and withdraw it back to a sperate wallet, breaking the bridge between it and the old wallet.

The resemblance of the blockchain level is same as Bitcoin in Doge too, so transactions are public so if someone wanted to create a service to make it harder to trace then it's definitely possible although I don't find anything yet available of similar kind. So if someone wants to break their trail then deposit to an exchange then withdraw it to another address, since funds goes to the exchange get pooled with hundred others and definitely you're receiving from different sources.

If a mixer for Dogecoin exists, it would be centralized. Haven't found a non-custodial solution yet. Speaking of privacy on-chain, I think it will never happen. Especially with the US government going after developers of mixing platforms. I'm yet to see whenever separate L2 solutions with built-in privacy will survive. If the developers/creators of a privacy-oriented crypto project are publicly-known, we should expect it to fail soon. There doesn't seem to be much demand for privacy on DOGE these days. This is not surprising to me, considering that Dogecoin is a "meme" coin. At least, everything is open source. Hopefully, Dogecoin will remain decentralized for generations.

Nope, not worth it.
The reason as simple, the only things we can do just use (MIXING) and using the addresses are not being identified. To be honest, every transaction is recorded in blockchain even if you are using mixing (not 100% privacy) is more called pseudonymous.
If you are really care about the transaction, using privacy coin is the key while every transaction from address transaction to destination is not being show up into the public on blockchain explorer.

Interesting and just as with any other protocol I guess it has its merit. Knowing most people who own doge probably don't even have it in a custodial wallet because they still don't know how to generate or use one I don't know how useful anon would be. If it ever becomes useful in terms of p2p transactions then I guess yeah it would be good to have.

You already said it that it is a memecoin. Further methods to make dogecoin private might raise even more suspicions from the government. There are privacy coins out there that you could use but then again they are also being subjected to government’s prying eyes. What do you think? Is it worth making DOGE transactions private? If not, why? Can you achieve optional privacy on Dogecoin? Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much. Not really as it might just raise even more issues than when it didn’t have any extra features that implemented privacy

Since you are not looking for the dogecoin protocol privacy then it should the transaction privacy like bitcoin p2p and Luke the mixers. I have not even seen any altcoin having a mixer to mix their coins. And if there is any then it will be a good thing to implement and if it was existing then some would have mentioned it in the forum. And o e thing I also understand in dogecoin is that upon all these longevity in the ecosystem all these years, the population is not encouraging and, the uses is not active like other even new coins.
Well for now there is no privacy in the coin but probably when the coin do well in the future mixers companies will look into it and add it to their system and mix it.

Blockchain analysis companies, for the time being, have not shown much interest in monitoring dogecoin. You can use it somewhat privately by avoiding KYC services and not reusing addresses. Dogecoin development has not been very active either at the protocol level or wallets and services level so I would not expect any advanced privacy features to be implemented any time soon.
Like other UTXO coins, Dogecoin could have coinjoin or MWEB, like Litecoin, but users mostly prefer it because they want the price to pump or it’s a temporary solution to high BTC fees. Its users aren’t very concerned with privacy.

Dogecoin or Bitcoin or just every crypto has been mostly preferred for it's volatility or simply to bump and dump. You are right that people use Doge to avoid the high fees on bitcoin network but Dogecoin made it's existence and I won't even surprised at all if people started using it for payments too since fee on BTC on the higher side for year and half.

Switching to a privacy coin is an option. But I'm more comfortable using DOGE directly for P2P transfers. My best bet would be to create a new address for each DOGE transaction. The coins would need to be bought on a DEX or F2F (Face to Face) just to avoid leaving a trail behind (no KYC). I don't think this is hard to do. Maybe someone has the "guts" to create a non-custodial mixer for Dogecoin? With recent government crackdowns, the developer (or group of developers) must be careful not to reveal his/her/their identities. It's an uncertain world for crypto, so I can only hope for the best.

Cryptocurrency is not everyone, we should learn this basis. The volatility is here to entrapped those investors who appeared to be pretty smart but end up losing huge funds due to trading. Dogecoin will always eliminates other coins when it comes to transactions, it's been really a tough time dealing involving BTC to crypto transactions, their gas fees is high enough to make someone annoyed. I rather settle for Dogecoin because the transactions fees are small and very affordable on our ends.

I don't think that there is a need for it. Let Doge stay on its own as many don't want to see it getting delisted in several exchanges. We've seen what will come to privacy coins nowadays, they're going to get delisted because of the government move and we don't want that to happen for Dogecoin. So, whatever it is with Dogecoin as of the moment, it's already enough and good to its own and the features that it is having right now. As a memecoin, it's already no doubt what it has got.

Has anyone found a way to make DOGE transactions private?
I really don't think there's such an option, no. What do you think? Is it worth making DOGE transactions private? If not, why?
Privacy is always good. But who is really incentivized to make a privacy option for DOGE? As it's mostly a temporary hold coin on centralized exchanges anyway. Can you achieve optional privacy on Dogecoin? I think your only option is to do the typical deposit and withdraw from some shady no-KYC centralized exchange lol.

From what I understand from this market, people don't care about Privacy, once they are able to make money from a token they are fine. I don't think Dogecoin need any enhancement to it, the Memes theme is what makes Dogecoin what it is, if you want privacy, it is better to go for coins like Monero

if there is a demand for it, maybe there will be a doge mixer one day. there is nothing yet to be serious about doge but it's picking up though. it's still fun to keep riding the trend of this coin.
for now, you can just use other coins for your privacy. getting your doge on DEX might be an option for you, that's at least the most sensible to keep privacy.

DEXs and P2P exchanges would be the way to go for me. Since there are no privacy solutions built for Dogecoin (yet), my best bet would be to use a new address for each transaction. It will be much harder to trace the owner of the funds this way. Obtaining "virgin" DOGE from the block reward, is also an option. I wouldn't expect much from Dogecoin since it's a "meme" coin. Most people these days don't care about their privacy, so having a mixer or built-in privacy protocols would only be a distant dream. Who knows? Maybe Dogecoin will surprise us...

Inputting privacy into its protocol would be a long process and not everyone might even agree, however for those who want to achieve privacy with dogecoin external tools would be the best option. One can use a wallet that has privacy on top of its features. Wallets that has address randomization can be a good tool if you want to achieve that privacy. You can also use vpns as well.

i don't think dogecoin needs such a feature since people don't take dogecoin too seriously since it's a meme coin. and who wants to hide their transactions through dogecoin anyway? it's much more efficient to use alternatives like monero or other privacy coins, than having to hide your transactions through dogecoin which wasn't designed for that in the first place.
