Greediness or Addiction -which one is more disastrous?

Well, I believe that both Greediness and Gambling Addiction make our lives terrible. I was thinking about which one of the two reasons causes more disastrous in our life both in terms of mental health and finances.

When it comes to life (in this case, gambling), I don't see greed as such a terrible thing as addiction. Maybe it's because it boils down to my perception of greed being a second skin to mankind. Every man has that character trait and I don't use it loosely in this sense. I equate that greed with ambition. It's greed and the lure of chasing what we don't have that has thrown man into labouring everyday to make ends meet. Anyone who isn't greedy won't struggle to be in a better place/employment, and that's what we all seek; whether we admit it or not.

As for addiction, that's a cancer that has derailed so many and wrecked homes. I rather be greedy than addicted.

In fact, the two things that you have mentioned, these two things can never be observed separately in a gambler, these two things can be observed in a gambler in conjunction with each other. Everyone says gambling addiction is bad and horrible for a person but I think what is worse is the greed gambling addiction is a gambler because of this greed.
When people gamble, if the issue of greed sits on them, then it will be seen in the future that they will become addicted to gambling due to greed. And people don't just gamble because of greed, but greed is a big reason for the downfall of people in every case.

Gamblers who gets addicted are not satisfied with the outcome of their bets and they keep on gambling because they want to make profit by all means.

Some gamblers are even making little profits but they are not satisfied with it and they will continue playing till they lose it all of it and the next day, they will continue chasing their losses.

So gambling is not suitable for such public, I will also say that trading is not suitable for them, because in this case, if their greediness is high and for this, if they lose their self-control and start taking trade or wagering based on emotions, then they are the last. It is normal to face loss. And in most cases such incidents happen more.

I would say that in order to avoid this problem, a budget or a limit should be set at the beginning that after the end of this budget no more gambling can be done or if this limit is touched then you have to take a break from gambling. And that's how I think gambling is best where you can combine fun and sometimes profit.

I think so many of us will be quite confuse on this particular notion of your view about greed and addiction, well personally I feel greed is what actually fuel the engine to one being addicted although there are many ways people get to control their greed but at the foremost of all greed is what drives that feeling of wanting to try again thinking the next try will yeild something positive.

I could make the argument greed is actually one of the first steps which are taken by anyone who partakes in gambling and push them into getting addicted. Itself, gambling addiction is about a psychological dependence on gambling, the thrill which is given to one to face uncertainty. There are gamblers who are addicted to wagering their money everyday because they are indeed greedy and they cannot stop thinking about the possibility of wealth, on the other hand, there must be a relatively small percentage of gambler who are addicted because it is their way to cope with reality, their escape from their own perception of existence.
It is similar to people who are addicted to playing videogames, for example, they do not do it because they have the chance to earn money from it, but rather because they desire to ignore reality for as much time as it is possible for them.

All could start by being greed during a gambling session.
