Elliot was a twisted an sick individual and honestly, I did not expect to see his name here in this forum, each time I recall what he did and why he did it I almost feel sick to my stomach. ugh.
Anyways, back to the main topic: I completely agree with you; it does not matter what social and economical status one has, the whole point about continuing working and existing is to hold onto a dream or an objective which would bring us happiness and joy. Perhaps, that is why so many celebrities and rich people end up losing their focus and try drugs, because all their money has led them to experiment all they wanted and felt unsatisfied with the outcome of their lives, so they turned to drugs and even to crimes.

I used to see documentary films of people living on unhumane conditions in very empoverished countries of Africa and Asia, and every single one of the when interviewed has something to look forward to, in spite of living in mud houses or not having a job. Something having a dream and having hope is all one needs to keep up going in this long travel called life in such unfair and cold-hearted place this planet can be.

I would have agreed with you if you had said that it is easier for a woman to make money than a man but saying that money buys happiness to majorly women is not actually true at all even though we know that women becomes more happy when they are given money or when they have their own money and every body generally is very happy when they have money but that doesn't mean that their money can buy them happiness, infact let me put it straight to you majority of women that has money are not really happy in their life as most of them fakes their life for people to believe and think that they are happy and living alright.

Women pretend a lot and cover their dark and painful side all the time but they are the ones that get emotional easily because of what they pass through in secret so saying that money buy happiness to the female gender is not true. If some successful women open the chapter of their lives you will feel so bad for them because they go through a lot even to get money because men literally work hard for their money but most female now are into prostitution and are using it as a way to earn a living and take care of themselves but do you think that this females are happy about the job they're doing just to make a living because if they consider the stress they go through it makes some of them get into emotional trauma and they feel so bad due to the fact that they are being slept by different men just to meet up life obligations so it's not easy for any of the genders at all because we all are going through some things that money cannot really afford for us. Some girls after making a lot of progress in life, they are not happy due to the nature they pass through to get to the top, they cry secretly and pretend everything is fine but deep down in them they are not really happy again when they keep reflecting on their past lives.

This will depend on anyone perspective but in a general terms money can buy happiness, money can cover 80% of the happiness of a human being because money solve almost 80% of the our problems, his only few that are suffering from that, for a example, a rich person who is suffering from disease or sickness and money couldn't do anything there, or a wealthy family who are not on the same page etc, actually in this regard it very hard to find happiness even though you are the richest person on earth.

OP's point is funny, and I just want to say that gender does not determine anyone's happiness from birth. The great process we receive in life to adapt/resist is pure nature to lead us to self-improvement. Simply put, it's a balance that we don't realize, perhaps it's just the OP's worldview that is entangled with this issue that makes the distinction. I see my grandmother, mother, sister, and female friends.... they have their own happiness and it is not material issues that dominate their emotions, I also learned that material things are just that means to happiness, but in truth we have many different means to happiness.

but all of these are materials.

the funny thing that growing in a poor family and neighborhood I always found that boys my age can be happy with a simple stuff such as finding some animal or even a stick while girls where harder to be happy since there parents can't buy them beautiful dress and shoes.

The rate at which one can be happy is not as a result of gender or achievement but how you assimilate socioeconomic activities around around you.
