Alot of the sentiment on this thread over the last few days have been largely centered on Madrid winning the title for the second time in a row. As much as they're the true kings of the tournament and are in a really great place right now where they can perform and compete with any team right now, I'm not 100% certain that they can win it yet. A lot of twists and turns are gonna be there and like all football games, the best teams don't always win and I can see that happening with Madrid. There are teams that could still handle them well in the UCL.

My options are still open even though my default, biased choice is going to be Liverpool.

The current Real Madrid squad is not bad, all the players are in their best form, the arrival of Mbappe makes this Los Blancos squad even stronger as others say, I believe the game statistics have improved again.

Of course they will be much more stronger when Mbappe joins up with them but the only problem i see is how Ancellotti will manage the team with Mbappe, Vinicius and Rodrygo, will they all start? Or will he still stick to his usual 442 formation with Bellingham playing as a false 9? Because he’s already got a midfield of Tcheomeni, Camavinga and Valverde and also Bellingham. If Endric also joins up with the team it will be very difficult to manage them all.

The last few seasons Real Madrid's player purchases have never failed, maybe what failed was the purchase of Eden Hazard in the past but now they are investing more in young players who have talent and in the future will have high market value.

It’s similar to what Chelsea is doing signing young players and giving them long contracts because they know they are the future. I like the scouting department of Real Madrid, they know what they want and they always go for the best that what have kept them ahead of every other team in the world. All players they have signed so far always suits their style of play perfectly.

It’s good for Real Madrid as it is also good for PSG because they’ll save a lot in some returns they’re suppose to give to him if he had stayed for another season. This was the best time for the move and the two clubs I think are okay with it.

It’s good deal for Real Madrid but i can’t say the same for PSG because all what they have invested in him seem to have wasted. He was paid huge amount for wages and was not signed for free and all these years the only benefit they have had was winning the Ligue 1 title which they would eventually win even without Mbappe. They also might have benefited from his jersey sales but other than that i don’t see what else they benefited.

I know with the way Real Madrid enjoyed Ancelotti performance, they don't want to leave him now or anytime soon until they sight a more impressive manager as time goes on. Maybe from next season, they will scout for another manager. Winning the UCL as well as the La Liga was a great winning streak for Real Madrid and it showed their prowess in this season and I'm most convinced that they want to do more next season.

Leaving Ancelotti is something real Madrid may not want to do at this time but just like Liverpool, a time will come when even the team can't help it but to let him go probably for purposes of resting, retiring or on health grounds, either way they are definitely going to have a point where he will leave the team and the team will get to capitalize on his legacy hence look for a replacement for him. Like you did mentioned, if they start scouting for a replacement now it will be a gree idea a d I'm very sure even if they start so early, they are still going to find it really difficult to get a perfect replacement.

A manager that will get them to win the UCL and la Liga at the same time with much ease, is someone Madrid will definitely find difficult to get because such a manager must be very experienced and on a very different level of performance than other coaches who handle other teams, he must have a really different mentality that is geared towards winning mostly and not just to head the team a d having to settle for less, Madrid typical suffered only one loss this season in the la Liga and another two in the champions league this season too.

I don't know if you missed the part that they are actually trying to switch their manager and we all know the effect that normally holds in a club and for the case of Liverpool I just hope it's positive rather than negative because jorgen kloop is actually a really good coach and I find it hard to believe that someone would easily just implement or even do better than what he has done in Liverpool.

Real Madrid did not win the league in a row. Before this there current wining Manchester City were the winner and they were also one of the strongest competitor in the UCL semi finals stage. I still believe they are the strongest team in the world. If they still retain tis squad and include. Mbape they are almost concluding deals on then they will win the league again and again.

Liverpool current squad are no match to Madrid unless there are more threat added to the team that i do not know. If you would mention a team that can hold the defense of Madrid you should be talking about Arsenal.

I don’t think we are that far away from Ancelloti departure from Real Madrid, last summer there were concrete rumors that he was set to leave for the Brazil National team with which he also hinted that it wouldn’t be bad to go there and manage the selecaó. Perez did a U-turn and offered him a new contract extension although what I noticed was that it wasn’t for a very long term with three years at most added (included an option to extend). This to me speaks that Real Madrid aren’t at the moment planning anything way too long like other clubs commit with a Manager with an Ancelloti. Looking at this I think once the gaffer contract expires he might be leaving to Brazil.

The manager that comes to mind to replace Ancelloti at the moment in my opinion is Xabi Alonso. He definitely lacks the experience that Ancelloti has but his Aura will pave way for him to become the next Real Madrid manager. Something even tells me his rejection of offers from Bayern Munich and Liverpool this season and to prolong his stay with the Bundesliga club is as just to wait more for Real Madrid. It’s a huge risk but to me a good one, if he gets a stellar season like last season then he will be the favourite to take it. My other wild card will be the return of Zidane

In history of UEFA C1/ Champions League, there are very few clubs which could win three titles in three consecutive seasons or within several years so to catch Real Madrid's record, Manchester City will spend a long time to get it. They can win some titles but Real Madrid will be able to win more Champions League titles in future too.

Bayern Munich and Ajax can win the 3 titles in a row, too. But only Real Madrid who could win 5 titles in a row (1956, 1957, 1958, 1959, 1960). This record is unlikely to be repeated by other teams because it will be very difficult to win UCL in 5 consecutive seasons. That's why many people claim that UCL is Real Madrid league, Real Madrid is too dominating this competition. 

Last two decades, Barcelona had some dominating seasons with their golden generation with Messi is a core player but they did not maintain it and they are still far to catch Real Madrid. It's explainable for all clubs as players come and go, start as young players, grow up, succeed, get old and retire. Success for one club can not be from only one generation of players but must be maintained with different generations and Real Madrid do it best so far.

Even the golden generation of Messi can't dominate UCL. They are defeated by Ronaldo era that was managed by Zidane. A change in the Liverpool team would be good, but such an experienced coach should not be changed.  Although the performance of Liverpool team players has been very poor at present, as I have placed two bets on Liverpool team in the last month or so I have lost there. So I will definitely talk about their performance but it will be best if they change and the team can perform stronger.

Well I don't actually know where you driving at but Liverpool has never been a team just that they heard some set backs as the league was drawing close to an end but of which they actually bounced back but that isn't the center of focus for now, what is being talked about is the effect of them actually having their current coach jorgen kloop leaving the club and this is reason why am being skeptical about @nelson actually giving Liverpool a better hand in stoping the likes of Madrid this coming champions league.

It's true so and three consecutive Champions League titles of Real Madrid with Zidane as a head coach, is very magnificent achievement for their club and it's an impressive club performance in Champions League history too.

Despite not winning back-to-back matches, Real Madrid are a team and they are the team with the most trophies in the Champions League. Additional slots for two best leagues are good enough because these clubs have good quality too. In Premier League, if Chelsea or Liverpool miss Champions League, it's bad for them and for Champions League too. If Premier League completes a season as one of two best leagues, a strong club that ends the league will be able to join Champions League next season.

It is good if the fifth club has good performances but if the fifth club has many problems like Manchester United, their appearance in Champions League with that special extra slot won't help to increase quality of Champions League.

To say 100% that Real Madrid will win the Champions League next season, I'm not that sure either. However, here we can only see that their percentage of winning the Champions League title again is very high compared to other teams. I think this is a very normal thing, with the status of defending champions and the addition of their strength, one of which is by successfully bringing in Mbappe in the season.
If you calculate the percentage, last season Manchester City was the team with the highest percentage, but in fact they also failed because Real Madrid managed to beat them. Real Madrid overtook them in percentage terms and managed to become champions.
This could happen next season, even though Real Madrid may be the team holding the highest percentage, but that doesn't mean they can automatically become champions.

Yes, I agree with your sentiment about this, the chances of real madrid winning next year uefa champions league is still very high, because in as much as they are very good now, they are still adding more quality players in their ranks, and the addition of Kyler mbape in this real Madrid team will definitely makes them the team to beat, and probably the most strongest team next season.

Though Manchester city are still there, we all know how good they are when they are in their full flow, and I actually believe that they are the only team that has the capacity to put a stop to the dominance of real madrid, because they also possesses quality and experience in their ranks the way real madrid is, so next season competition will definitely going to be fascinating to we the football faithful.

So it is normal if the discussion here is centered on Real Madrid winning the UEFA Champions League trophy for the second time in a row. With Mbappe joining Real Madrid on a free transfer, football fans believe that Real Madrid is unstoppable, and that is another reason why they see Real Madrid as a club that will still retain the UEFA Champions League trophy. I don’t like the new version of the group stage, to be debuted in the 24/25 season but it is what it is. After missing out on the CL last season I am looking forward to seeing Liverpool back where we belong.

It’s very much unknown territory with Slot but I guess you never know what can happen, it doesn’t cost anything to dream.

I don’t like the group stage either, you could say that they combined the old group stage with the last qualifying round and it turned out to be such a mess. But if you look at the essence of the competition, then everything still starts at the playoff stage and here everything remains as before. And yet I hope that spectator interest in the group stage will wane and the old format will be returned.

Any idea how Leverkusen is going to perform in the Champions League competition? 

I actually want to see Leverkusen from well in the Champions League competition. For some reason, I also want to see a final between Real Madrid and Leverkusen. I think because I want to see how great coaches, Alonso and Ancelotti does against each other. I understand that this is not a good comparison and probably there is a very high chance that Real Madrid is actually going to win very easily. Because of the track record that they have in the Champions League. But it will still be something to watch. The expectation is really high from Leverkusen. I hope they will be able to deliver properly on that.
