This is a sad story but it is a common happening in a addicted gambler's home. With gambling the person usually gets mixed with private moneylenders and bookies and eventually it takes a bad turn when they cannot pay back the money. Also depression comes in with the guilt of having lost money and having to show the family who depend upon that person an empty wallet for the month.

It's obvious that your elder brother is already addicted to gambling as he didn't think of his family first, wife and children waiting for him and he should be the one providing food in the table. Of course there will be arguments if he came home without his salary and he gamble it everything and lost. So the question is, what will happen to the family now?

Your brother is just an irresponsible gambler based on your story as he literally use all his hard earned money given that he has a family to feed. I don't do that kind of thing because I already learned from my past mistakes in gambling. Obviously this person is addicted to gambling, because he participates in gambling all night without thinking about his family. Especially real gambling is the worst, because even when his wallet is empty, he has the opportunity to borrow from others. But in case of online gambling, once the balance runs out, there is no other way to gamble, that's why I hate offline gambling the most. “Irresponsible Gambling is a fatal mistake” should be the correct title for this thread, gambling alone is not fatal - it only becomes detrimental when the punters don’t know how to gamble properly. Take this case as an example, if the husband was a responsible gambler he would have been able to tell what his limits were and also know when to call it a quit when he hits those limits but due to the fact that he was clueless he didn’t know when to stop.

If you eat food too much, it will affect you. If you drink too much it will affect you. If you abuse drug it will affect you. The problem has never been the game of gambling, rather it has always been the attuited of the gambler towards gambling, according to your story, it could be said that your brother was not disciplined enough to control his gambling habit to the point of knowing when to stop and when not to stop any more because they always thing there's an opportunity to win by the next trial and he keeps trying till he gets all his money exhausted and then end up in regrets which could have been avoided if only he has controlled himself to the point where he knows when not to continue gambling again.

One of the classic example of addiction going out of control. I'm sorry to hear that your brother has become a gambling addict, hopefully this will not end into the family getting broken apart because the effect on the kids is really devastating.

I guess by now the biggest reason is that he is out of control of his gambling and he is not thinking about his family anymore. It should be "irresponsible gambling" is a fatalk mistake. What happen to that guy cannot be blame to gambling because gambling serves a lot of people, it's considered an entertainment but if we don't see it that way, then this thing will happen. This is really unfortunate for a person which cannot control their emotions towards the activities they are dealing with and this is the result of over expecting on something that can possibly give them a lot of money. So a lesson needed to be learn since if people will not have a critical thinking dealing with their vices then for the same scenario would also happen to them.

Your gambling senior brother is definitely an irresponsible gambler because he puts gambling first before his financial responsibilities to his family. If I were your elder brother's wife I would have left him alone time ago see I noticed that he is struggling with gambling addiction and doesn't look like he's trying to getting help. I would leave him and take the kids along because I need to protect our children from the physical manipulation, emotional pain and trauma that he wants oir kids to go through. Well I tried to understand as the content is differs from the title, of a Truth gambling and society view is basically as result of gamblers who are addicted to it way if behavior, because no gambler that is not addicted that will spend all salary in gambling even with family of the number you described in your text, it's the set of person that make society condemn gambling and see people as tout it hoodlums when they see gambler.

That's all easy to say but if you're the one who's addicted, you wouldn't really be saying that kind of thing because addiction isn't something that you can easily just seek out help because when you're addicted, you're still in denial about your problem and you don't want to ask for help because you think that you're still doing fine and that you're still not addicted. so what would have been the case if he used the money to go into alcohol? Or used it to lavish on women or choose to spend it whichever way he pleases? Is it now an issue that he wrecked it all up on something that has the potential of yielding him some returns?

We have to be sincere to ourselves that some of these guys whose stories we share on this forum are just careless and irresponsible people that end up wasting there lives and resource at any slightest opportunity they have and end up painting accusing fingers on being addicted to an act just to corver up for there mess and get public simpathy.
