With is the minimum post require to earn a merit

I have been into the system for some months now and I have made over twenty posts but no simply merit has been given to me or earn by me and this make me to be surprise on how these merit are generated, given or earned. However, looking at it in another perspective, I don't know if it is because I did not meet the number of my post require to earn a merit or because of the low quality of my post that is the reason why I had not been able to earn a single merit. So please I will like to get more clarifications on the possible requirement for earning merit.

The minimum post to earn merit is one post. You can make one post and earn several merits if the post is very useful and helpful. You can make hundreds of posts and no one will send merit to the posts because they are useless or of low quality.

Read what good posters are posting and start being like them. Post something useful and help.

Merit can be earned if a user with shareable merit sent it to you based on their preferences. It’s either your post doesn’t meet everyone preference or it’s not visible to user with available merit to share. You can use merit source thread to report post that you think it deserves a merit.

The reason you might not be earning merit is because you create low quality post or haven't taken your time to understand the forum itself. My question for you is, what do you know about merit and what is it used for? If you can answer that question then maybe you might earn your first merit.

Also on going through your post history, you based mostly on you local board and on off topics board and judging sincerely, your post quality is really poor. I'll advice you take your time to read about the forum and forget about what ever the person who invited you to this forum told you about. And focus on learning for now. You earn merit when you create quality post mate, that's all.

The minimum post required to earn a merit is your post should provide a value to the community and the members. And now how do you make your post with provide a value is depends on you. Like what things you know that can help others share with your posts. And here you are new at forum you shouldn't rushing for the merit firstly explore forum like I think for a beginner Meta board, Bitcoin Discussion boards, and the Beginners & Help board are most important. I would Like to suggest explore them and also the tools related forum.

 You asked a really good question, it's good to ask to seek knowledge so you won't make mistakes, most Newbies would be wondering why they don't get merits, and if there's a required number of posts to be merited, I thought about that as well when I earlier came into the forum, but no there's no required number of posts for one to be merited.
 
 The major requirement for getting merited is creating good and quality posts, when you create good post, by teaching, giving good replies to a post or even questions whereby other members could learn from, maybe anyone who have Smerits and is pleased with your post or a merit source could merit your good quality post.

 Also if you check the beginners board, there's a thread by @fillippone where people could share their best post to be merit assessed, there's another thread by @hugeblack where you could share your best local board post and get merited, I think there's another one by @NotATether in same beginners board where you could run a node for 14days and get merited. But you should know that before you share your post in those threads they should have quality and also follow their instructions so as not to receive negative tag.

@OP don't need to follow or read anything, just be yourself. There's no need to look high ranked users, no need to follow or copy them, no need to think about your post quality, just post what you want and whenever you want.

Because if you follow other users, you will regret if you didn't receive any merit.

It is true, if you don't post, no forum member can merit you but there is another note, you can see a user with 0 post, 0 activity point but still have merit.

What does it mean?

That user actually posted in the past and received merit for his posts but later that account was nuked. It causes number of posts and activity point drop to 0.

 I think @ _act_ gave the perfect response. One post can give as much merits you need depending on how informative it is and I took the liberty of going through your post lists and trust me, if you hope to earn merits, you'd need to put more effort. You got registered on the 1st of April, y days later, you sought guidance from the forum, the next day, you needed more guidance on how merits where gotten and now you need more hindsight on the number of posts one needs to make to get merits! Gee, show some effort and maybe you could get lucky.
 All you have managed to do is rehash posts that have been made by others. One good thing you need to help yourself with is how to use the search button so you can at least know when to not create threads that have been talked about so you don't get labeled as a spammer because the last thing you need is to be tagged as one.
For now, focus more on browsing the forum than you do in opening new threads as it won't help your case, but rather, doing your research, coming up with informative threads will.
 You have lasted all but two months here and are bothered that no merits are coming your way, maybe you need to try a different approach.

Merits are offered when someone find your post's informative, interesting or something that adds value to the discussion but it doesn't necessarily mean you are making low quality posts either because not every quality post got merited too so if you're desperate to earn merit then you can try merit giveaway threads like others suggested or can concentrate posting more where merits shared often.

What you just need is 1 constructive post to earn merit.

There are people here in this forum who made only one post and got alot of merit for it example I can remember is @PowerGlove and one other user I can't remember they only made constructive posts that earned them merit so it's just one useful post and you can earn merit.

but you can still go around learn and give useful details and you will earn some merit.

OP only focused on earning merit, not about how he could deserve it.
But thinking about the number of posts needed is beyond the requirements that are needed.

Looking at some of the OP's posts, he said that he has Data analysis skills,

Skill: Data Analyst, SAP MM and PM Analyst

Even I don't have such a skill, but if he does have it, it should be easy to get merit with the data analysis ability for this forum.
Create a thread that may have a technical discussion about forum, crypto or some data analysis that has never been discussed.

You can earn merit from your first post in this forum, and you can make thousands of posts without earning a single merit if the posts are of low quality and no one finds them worthy of merit.

I checked your profile and I see that more than half your posts are in the Nigeria local board, you can simply earn merits in the local board, but for you to come and share with the general board, it means you never read the forum rules and your posts are not up to the quality to receive merits; therefore, make sure you improve your posts.
Also, make sure you go through all the comments and read through all the links provided in the comments.

You have been on the forum for months now, ok. These twenty posts could have been better and more helpful. That's no problem. Don't be disappointed that the previous posts were not so good. You keep the quality and quantity right for excellent and helpful posts. Maintaining good post quality and quantity will give you automatic merit and no need to worry. You should spend time on the forum and learn how to post well. Start slowly, and you will see merit too. Instead of posting randomly, post what you understand and know will help others.

Very thoughtful of you to ask. I believe you will learn a whole lot of things from this thread only if you can follow up and read. Here, number of posts don't really matter, what matters is quality of posts. Number of post only matters when you join a campaign where you are expected to complete certain number of posts in a week.

Even I don't have such a skill, but if he does have it, it should be easy to get merit with the data analysis ability for this forum.

This is not by default, else everyone making a single post must earn merit.

While that one post does not guarantees for a merit.
That same one post must be a quality one.
You may also have to make more than one post before you see someone to merit you.

But I was skeptical about that skill when I saw the question that shouldn't have been asked.
There are many people who claim to have qualified skills in certain fields,
but it is only camouflage and only understands the basics, not really understanding it well.

I know some people who understand data analysis very well, and they do it well, get more merit and are very useful for the forum.
In fact, they started from a Newbie account, which then in a short time could rise in rank more easily.
The OP should have done that if he had the skill as a data analyst,.

Earning merits do not matter the number of post you make a day, but it matters much on the quality and usefulness of your post that even a single post can earn multiple merits. However, the more merits you make, the more chances of getting merits, but for a good and quality poster, even a single, short but precise post will definitely attract a lot of merits from different members in the forum knowing that post has seen very useful and helpful to the majority.

If you make any post that any forum member finds useful to them, then they are going to merit you. The number of posts that you make or the months that you have spent on the forum won’t earn you any merit, it’s your post quality that matters. You can create an account today with just one post, and you are going to receive merit. If you are making posts and no one is meriting them, then you will have to work on your post quality. Also, your post might be useful to someone, and the person might not have smerit to give out.
 
I just checked your post history, and I see that most of your posts are on the local board and in off-topic. People don’t really find posts in off-topic useful, so most people don’t visit the section.
