I think almost everyone would have felt the same feeling since almost everyone would have thought of investing in a shitcoin at some point of time.
Even I had bought some shitcoin few years ago thinking that it will grow huge and I will make huge profits but soon I got a reality check.
I have heard the same story from many people and so the feeling is mutual. Sooner or later everyone gets to know that bitcoin is the real deal.

It has become a norms here seeing things like this on a regular basis and I don't longer find it surprising again. This thread reminds me of a statement that says "always speak truth so you don't have to remember what you said in the past". One can decide to lie, it's fine but at least it should be convincing enough and well compose so people might probably learn from it. That's what we called fictional stories.

Reading through the Op thread, I actually expected to see the name of Shitcoin he/she invested in for that long time without realizing the mistake despite claiming to be doing research about cryptocurrency in a while. However, the point here is regardless of whether the story is real or fabricated which is most likely, lesson is being learnt and he's open to reality now.

When I knew about cryptocurrency I went for research and I discovered Bitcoin and other coins in the market, I went to study the history of Bitcoin and it's growth and I saw how well it was, so I said to my self if Bitcoin can grow this big then I needed to fine a rising coin that has not grown too big and invest my money on it, thinking it will grow as Bitcoin did, this happened 6 years ago.

Honestly,there are some set of people regretting now not investing in Bitcoin but in altcoins. However, for those who did thorough research about Bitcoin and still ended up investing in alternative coins, I would say it is the eagerness to make quick gains in the cryptocurrency industry that led them to take that wrong decision.as for you op you should have also researched the other coins and compared them to see the best among them.

It is not really advisable to invest in altcoins, but the truth is that there are some altcoins that are not bad if invested  after proper research. If someone does their research well, they can pick out some of the good alternatives coins. Most traders buy these coins and immediately it starts pumping they sell and take profit. Only a few of them should be held for a long time. You are not alone in this boat. Many people think that the crypto space is a Ponzi scheme or filled with scam projects. You made a vow never to go back to cryptocurrency but you later went back because a friend told you he has become profitable investing in bitcoin alone? I will not be surprised when you make another vow not to invest in bitcoin when its decline begins. Bitcoin does not enjoy steady rise. The rise you see now is because we are in the bull season. In the bear season bitcoin also crashes. My suggestion to you is that you should not get attached to your coins. Do not want to hold them forever. Sell when you see them begin to crash and wait for it to pick up again before buying.

The good thing is that you realized the right thing to do and it is all good, Bitcoin is still a growing world largest digital asset that has shown a tremendous increase in value and wider spread adoption and has proven to be the best coin among other coins, it is never too late consistency is the most important as it takes fewer and fewer of Bitcoin to have up to a reasonable amount through the DCA strategy, patient is required in order to hold for long and have the compounded value of your Bitcoin investment over time.

Yes you are right I agree that investing in shitcoins is risky and uncertain but some people may still be tempted to do so because they just want to become a millionaire in a single night. However it is essential to understand that these coins have lower chance of long term survival. In contrast investing in bitcoin is more reliable choice but it requires patience and long term perspective. We should not expect quick profits from bitcoin investment it is marathon not sprint. We should keep in mind that success and significant returns require time and perseverance. So we should be cautious with shitcoins and approach bitcoin investment with a patient and informed mindset.
