Yes, that's right. They should abide by the rules or else they will become the home of those who will use their service to launder money. They need to keep it clean if they want their business to continue.
I am not against KYC and that's because it's a protection for both ends and I think some online gambling sites are not that strict with the information they need. I haven't even passed an ID yet on one gambling site and I can still gamble and withdraw although it's not that big money which could be why I am not required to do so unlike high rollers who will probably end up depositing and withdrawing thousands of dollars each day.
They are bigger in this era, you can see online gambling everywhere and it's being advertised more because they know there's money in it.
