I am testing the hypothesis that Zelensky’s handshake leads to rapid political suicide for any politician who extends his hand.

In other words, you are posting here because you want to insert some other topic that has nothing to do with the thread.

Good to know Smiley.
I'm always happy to be useful and practice rhetoric. As I said earlier, I don't care which party wins the next US presidential election.

Anyway, in the end they will say that "Putin did it". Grin

Oh come on. Don't lie to us here, bud. You obviously want Trump to win. I respect your opinion, but you aren't fooling anybody by saying stuff like that.

Nop, I think Trump is a bad candidate for the role of President of the United States. He won the debate due to his brilliant charisma, probably due to his charisma he will win the presidential election, but it is his charisma that is a very bad ally for running the executive branch of government in the United States well. Because bright charisma is a sure sign of a hypertrophied ego. I am very sorry that in the USA there were not only a couple of worthy candidates and citizens are forced to choose between bad and even worse. This is a shame for the “correct” democracy that the United States teaches the whole world, but itself does not know how to do.

Nop, I think Trump is a bad candidate for the role of President of the United States [...]

Now you are just speaking gibberish. You just spent hours and days here pumping Trump and his centerpiece policy of making abortion illegal, which you have clearly expressed a strong desire to achieve.

If you think you are fooling people, then go ahead and feel that way, but my guess is that you aren't.

Lol, you were the one who brought up the topic of abortion. I said that Biden is a good politician, but is physically in bad shape and is not able not only to win the next election, but also to do the job of the President of the United States right now. Because he has progressive senile dementia.

Are you unable to read three pages of the text of our conversation? Grin

ps If it is important for you to know my personal opinion, I would watch the Ron DeSantis vs. Michelle Obama election race with much greater interest, regardless of its outcome.

The crazy thing to me is how Democrats acted like they were so surprised after the debate. Saying things like it was one bad night… Literally everyone in the world knows the guy is a demented old man who couldn’t hold a job as a Walmart greeter. How could these people not know that this wasn’t a bad night, it was the best Joe Biden could do with nearly 2 weeks of preparation. It’s like the left just lost touch with reality as a result of TDS.

That link just points to a bunch of polling for Biden v. Trump.

The 538 link? Definitely shows much more than that. Scroll down.

The other poll is what a bunch of non-experts think of an extremely technical topic (and confirmed Democratic voters are going to vote for Biden regardless).

The non-experts have more votes than experts though.

Nope, you repeatedly called it "baby killing" here. Anybody can go back and read all of this. Again, you aren't fooling anybody: you obviously want Trump to win.

If you have opinions, then fine, tells us what they are. But it is a waste of everybody's time to read one opinion from a poster and then read another one a few posts later that directly contradicts it, and even repudiates and mocks it like you are doing now with the topic of abortion. There's no chance you can be this vehement about your views on abortion and then suddenly not care whether a pro-choice candidate wins or not. You can say whatever you want here, but for me at least, all I can expect you to do is try to "win" the most recent post, which will have no relation, logically speaking, to the previous post.

The 538 link? Definitely shows much more than that. Scroll down.

I did. That page has nothing on other match-ups as near as I can tell. Maybe you have a direct link?

Just to be clear, I personally would love if there was some polling showing candidate XYZ would beat Trump. There was one poll recently on Michelle Obama that showed her winning nationwide, but I would need to see a few more polls, and in swing states, which are the only ones that actually matter.

While I don't have hard data on this, I suspect virtually all of the people with an informed opinion on this inside-baseball topic are going to vote for Biden. Come on, man Smiley.

Your logic is interesting. Just because I am against the killing of unborn children does not mean that I support Trump. Imagine, this also happens. I'm a stern, bearded Russian crypto-anarchist, why should I support Biden or Trump? For me, public policy is just a kind of show business, sometimes it’s interesting to watch and that’s all.

The most interesting possible outcome of these debates is if the Americans realize that political strategists are using manipulation to force them to choose from two types of old crap, and this will cause a wave of protest voting, in which an independent candidate Kennedy Jr., who was not even invited to the debate will win.
And that's when the US will really be in shit.

So you are against the killing of babies (who wouldn't be), and based on your logic, Biden is in favor of killing of babies. But you also don't care if babies are killed or not because you don't care which one wins.

Maybe try to have more consistent positions if you want to be taken seriously. All I'm saying. Smiley

Maybe you will stop pushing the issue of abortion so that I can perceive you as a serious interlocutor? We are not talking about abortion here, look carefully at the title of the topic.

You said you wanted Trump to win because of the baby killing. I was just trying to follow you here, assuming (wrongly, I now see), that you actually take your own words seriously. I won't make that mistake again.

Maybe it wouldn’t be difficult for you to quote me where exactly I said this? English is not my native language, and if I unsuccessfully formulated that you understood me that way, then I readily admit that I was wrong. But it seems to me that you are slandering me.

Update:

I have carefully read all my posts in this thread and in the adjacent thread about the debate and have not found a single message that would give you reason to think that I support Trump. Moreover, I directly stated the opposite. So you slander me, shame on you.

...
I am not a Trump supporter, I think that he is still a very weak politician (at the same time, Trump today as a politician is much stronger and more experienced than eight years ago, although he is also eight years older), prone to shocking, populism and theatrical gestures.

Democrats cannot deny Biden's ineligibility to carry out the simplest tasks in the White House, but at the same time they completely reject Trump's return to him. I am surprised why the Democratic Party did not nominate a more qualified alternative than Biden because they would find themselves in an embarrassing position in front of their supporters.

By the same logic, not all Republicans are convinced of Trump's eligibility for the presidency, but there is no other candidate, and therefore they will support him only on the basis that he represents their party and not because he is the most competent.

Michelle would be a popular solution, it would be leading Trump by 11% just by saying "I am running". However I do not think Michelle wants to run for Presidency. It think that it is a very stressful race, not to mention the family toll that presidents pay in their personal lives.

Also, it is not all about the support, it is about the governors and the big party donors. I am not sure Michele would fit in the the big scheme of things. However I do think that there are excellent governors that could do very well and have the drive an ambition.

I guess Biden is trying to let some time pass, but I think the issue is not going anywhere.

Biden needs proof that Trump is a danger to democracy, like Trump saying he will be a dictator and go after his enemies.

Then Biden can have him wacked and when caught, he has immunity.

Once Trump is gone, Biden will probably fall asleep from the adrenaline drop, and the VP will have to take over.   Win win for freedom!  Smiley
