It reminds me of how vulnerable humans can be, and that anyone can change habits when a condition falls on them.

Such people may have either gotten a bad experience from past gambling activities and from what I can say, they were always gambling addicts who in some point were able to get out and then started judging other gamblers or saying I'll about it. Unfortunately life !might hit back hard on them and they suddenly remembers they have some kind of skills to unlock from the past so boom they get into gambling ones again. The trust is that one man's food can be another mans poison. So not every one would say positive things about gambling. Some due to religious beliefs they see gambling as a devils act. We just have to know that life turns mostly using the laws it was built with. So don't let karma get back at you. You aren't meant to judge any one.

Lol 😁 I think I can relate and I believe that are also lots of such person here in the community here, I'd like to call them Hippocrates that actually don't know what they are doing or even what they want to do, I believe some of these kind of person actually do the things they do to actually get favoured by maybe people or persons they hold at high esteem and such is this case of the people that do it here in the forum.

The thing is that no one can actually predict the future and so no one actually knows what gonna happen to them so keeping an open thought about people's action would probably be the best thing to do well atleast you don't have to be the one who get hit back with the exact same situation that he was actually despising. Alot of person that I know have fell under this same thing and whenever I see that they are now eating their words it makes me laughs.

Of course we can't know for sure what things we will experience in the future and it would be better for us to learn from what we see and not think we are better than them and when we see other people gambling it's a good idea not to say it's bad. because they might just play to find entertainment and also fill the free time they have and they will never experience an addiction to gambling.

If we take care of other people's habits too often, of course this indicates that we can never do things like those people do, so we feel jealous of what other people do and when they say bad things about what other people do. and they also do this, of course this is very stupid, so it would be better if we could take care of ourselves to continue trying to be better than before and not have to take care of other people's lives.

People judge that gambling is bad because they only see the bad side which is addiction, but once a gambler is responsible, he'll be able to enjoy and satisfy himself with the entertainment he'll get in gambling. As a human, we have our own happiness and as a gambler, this is our happiness, we feel the thrill and we become so optimistic about winning, however, that doesn't mean we will be unrealistic that we think we can easily win and can't accept losses as that is the recipe for disaster.

Sounds funny right.. I believe those critizing gamblers who later became addicted gamblers started gambling because they want to make profit and not for fun. Maybe they have gamblers as friends or around them and they might have seen them win some good amounts from gambling which have made them think gambling is a means to get rich.

I have seen alot of them, the worst thing is that these set of people will not be able to gamble responsible because they don't understand how gamble works or have any idea on how to go about it. Money is the only reason that will make anyone that does not like gambling start to gamble.

In fact, what I have noticed so far is that every experienced gambler will not try to judge them as gamblers, instead they remind them based on experience alone, where gambling should not be to pursue something that can make someone rich and successful, clearly that is the wrong thing to do. Therefore, many people share their experiences because they have recovered from their gambling addiction or have experience in gambling, so the situation will be different from someone who doesn't gamble but judges and advises gamblers because they are not worthy of doing it before they have tried it because humans are like that. so it won't be strange either, after all not everyone wants to try and do it, but still listen to those who don't gamble if you give advice for your own good, don't ignore it.

I have never seen this but I know it happens. Do not judge anyone because we don't know what life issues they are going through that sent them in that direction. Moreso be empathetic to everyone. Put yourself in a gamblers shoes and you might do the same. Some persons never imagined that they would struggle with addiction but life happens. Loneliness, coping, depression, starvation and other issues could have drawn these guys in this direction. The good book has said, judge not so that you will not be judged. In general, I would like to note that the relationship between gamblers is often very strange. For example, there is one gambler influencer and he has been losing a lot for a long time. It feels like he already owes money to everyone in the world. So, his subscribers often laugh at him, and I came to the conclusion that they like to know and see that there is someone who is in debt more than themselves. This makes their conscience calmer. But what is the point in this if the presence of a more defeated gambler does not affect their own progress at all?

But the reason to be gambling should not be because the person is not doing well financially or no more doing well financially. People should just gamble for fun. A lot of people brought up problem and more financial issues to themselves because they think of gambling when they supposed not to think of gambling. Gambling is not a way to make quick money. Gambling is even not a way to make money at all.

I've never judged gambling addicts, I know that this is a serious problem that requires professional help. Judging people, who are addicted by gambling, drugs, alcohol, porn, etc... proves that the people, who are judging are stupid and immature.
The world is full with people, that have fake morals and weak mindsets. Some people were saying that Bitcoin is a scam 5 or 10 years ago, and the same people started buying BTC in the last 2 years. Human stupidity cannot be changed.

Let's add the boredom too. Some people can start gambling in their life when they are bored and have nothing to do. Let's say those who work from home which I think have a large percentage now since the pandemic Covid-19 hit the world. You are at your home finished with all the job in just let's say 5 hours and there's nothing else to do after it. You can find yourself gambling when that hits you.

What made a non-gambler do that? It's not just because they judge people but they become too curious about it and since advertisements are all over the internet about gambling then it's easy to access it and so the gambling habit begins.

I have a slightly different opinion, but I largely agree with the OP. I do not believe that those people who once found themselves in a difficult financial situation should look for a way out of gambling.  You might think that the OP considers gambling to be a panacea for lack of money. On the contrary, I would be cautious with my money in those moments when I do not have the money that I am ready to spend without thinking about how and where. And since I still adhere to the opinion that gambling should be played only for entertainment, often those who become gamblers are those who do not need money.
On the other hand, there is a concept: everything we reject will test us sooner or later, and we cannot always truly remain steadfast in our opinions. Therefore, it’s not worth judging because everyone always has reasons to play.

Trust nobody, human is very adaptive creature, they can say A now, tomorrow they will say B, next month they will say C. Remember, I said human, which mean I, you and anyone else can change.

Also, don't believe everything what you see because someone can be a person who boldly saying to stop and ban gambling in their own social media account, but they're actually work in casino. Obviously the reason is money, he can get exposure in social media and at the same time earn a lot money.

Do not judge, or you too will be judged. It has always been that way and it will remain that way, because it is hypocritical and ugly to judge someone for something and then do it yourself. To avoid getting into such situations, it is best to look after yourself and let others do what they want and what they enjoy, as long as they do not endanger others.

Of course, this applies to many activities, not just gambling. Activities that are not socially acceptable are always judged by the majority of people. We can't influence that, we can only look at ourselves and try to be better people.

For me personally, this is a very subjective thing, because people can start gambling for various reasons to start with. although, previously they made fun of people who liked to gamble. It could be that the argument you mentioned is the beginning of someone starting to gamble, even though previously they often judged gamblers. However, with the pressure that comes with financial problems, a person is powerless and takes shortcuts just to get quick money, even from gambling.
second point, environmental or social factors can influence a person's mindset whatever it is. whether it's gambling, or other types of hobbies. even though, at first they didn't like him or even made fun of him. For me, this phenomenon is a common thing that happens to all of us in the community. It could be that there are many who are reluctant to gamble at first. However, because of frequent discussions they try to start new adventures with gambling. or, just want to know a fun hobby that involves gambling.

Well, there are many reasons for someone to start something they initially scoffed at. However, gradually they become more involved than we are. one thing that is interesting about what you said, "how vulnerable humans are" and here we are, who sometimes act against the grain even though we don't like it at first. like gambling, there are those who don't like it at all. People judging gamblers sometimes have the best of intentions. Like if your parents are judging you for spending your income on gambling when you could have been doing something else, they're sharing a very valid sentiment. In that case, we should never wish upon someone wishing for the best to someone else to be found in a situation of hardship.


But those people judging out of malice are much more likely to have their own issues.  So oftentimes they just bring it to themselves. Being overly judgmental instead of trying to make a friend through your interactions with people can leave you lonely and with no one understanding you when you most need it.

But there's also another aspect to all of this. Many people judge others for passions they have of their own but in secret. Like think for example of all the conservative senators in the US who were very judgmental towards gay people but it ended up they themselves were closeted homosexuals. I can imagine a similar thing happening with gambling for sure.

As much as I agree wit your last statement, and majorly everything you have said, let me point out that the reason you gave in your first thought; is completely pointless.
And this is because the reason you have made it look like it's only those who are in some kind of financial stress of issues that find their way into gambling, specially for some quick buck to fix themselves up, this is a lie, there are majority of people out there who are actually gambling without money or profit as their priority.

I myself have been gambling for a while and making money or profit off gambling has never been a priority to me, even though I understand perfectly that gambling is not really that much fun and exciting when what one keep experiencing loses after loses, but let's not wrongly assume that everyone that is gambling are doing it because they need money, this is a wrong assumption.

TBH, it is not life conditions that force ordinary people to become gambling addicts, it is the rush to enjoy something that can be both fun and profitable depending on personal expectations. Someone can judge the gambler for a useless activity that hurts financially and emotionally. Still, the person who judges may be interested in giving it a shot one day just to understand the principle behind the gambling world.  Financial needs shouldn't be a reason to fall into this trap that has a hidden house edge that melts gamblers sooner or later.
