Pacman record will not be match by anyone, not even Inoue. Just look at how hard Inoue is, he is just trying to clean up the division while moving up. While Pacman is just like a tornado going up in weight and beating the champions.

So there's nothing to compare here, Inoue will have his legacy cemented, maybe can go as high as 130 lbs and becoming a 5 weight class champion. He had unified and become undisputed at 2 weight class, featherweight will be his 3rd attempt but we don't know if he can do that or not.

Don't listen to Bob Arum, he knows how to play mind games just to hype up his boxer and make Inoue more exciting to watch. In reality, he's just protecting his cash cow, which is why they carefully choose Inoue's opponents to give him a big advantage. They didn't even give Casimero a chance to fight Inoue when they were both champions in the bantamweight division. That alone is proof that Inoue isn't as good as Pacman because he doesn't fight the best.

We already know where Bob is coming from, yes, we can call it mind games, but it still create hype for his fighters. And so far Inoue has talk the walk, but there are fighters before that he also hype, but they were not able to show their true potential.

In any case, we will not forget how Pacquaio was in his prime, going up in weight and even skipping 2 division. Just imagine if he didn't 10 division champ and that record will not be top by anyone. But Inoue is in different era and as much as we can argue that he is in the weak era, at least he had cemented his legacy already.

If we believe he's in a weak era, then Bob Arum isn't being truthful when he says Inoue is better than Pacquiao. Hype is normal in boxing, but if we're true fans who really understand the sport, we know that Inoue is still far from matching Pacquiao's achievements. Some analysts even believe Pacquiao should be considered the GOAT in boxing, though that's debatable since we all have our own favorites.

Nah, we all know how Bob Arum talks, he is just trying to influence everyone with his pleasantries specially his fighters from the past to the present. Weak era or not, Inoue hasn't been beaten and there are no blue print to beat him and he is still climbing up in his performance.

And we shouldn't compare him with Manny, both have different achievements and it just so happen that Arum is the promoter involved here so he can't take Manny's name out of his mount when he talk about Inoue's greatness in this era.

Bob Arum knows how to play the game; he's a real businessman, and all he cares about is making money. When Manny Pacquiao parted ways with Top Rank, Arum suddenly stopped praising him. He lost confidence in Manny beating champions, but he was wrong because Manny remained dominant even after leaving Top Rank. Maybe that’s just how their world works—it's all about where the money is.

Let's just say both have different achievements in boxing. But in terms of popularity, Pacquiao is way more well-known, especially in the US, where it’s hard for an Asian boxer to stand out. That’s the big difference, and hopefully, Inoue can also shine at his own time.

What do you think of this fight guys, cherry picking again?
Yes, you are right, the boxing match between Naoya Inoue vs Doheny is controversial in boxing circles, even though Inoue will hold the world title in 2023, by defeating Stephen, but in my opinion Doheny is also not too bad to fight Inoue this time, he is ranked seventh in the boxing rankings and he once held the IBF belt.

In several boxing careers Doheny also did not disappoint his fans, Doheny also has a long history in the boxing arena, for that I think it is worth and having the opportunity to fight in the ring between Inoue vs Doheny, maybe we all don't mind if Inoue will winthis match, but in a game there are winners and losers, this time I'm not looking at either of their careers and I'm going to choose Doheny to achieve his dream this time.

It seems like you miss the fight. Although your opinion is valid, but Inoue just destroyed Doheny, just like another day in the office for him.

Allow me to share to you the highlights of the fight.

I think this thread should be luck to avoid confusion.

That's one factor for Inoue. We all believe that he's truly a monster and deserves that title. But if he ever proves himself more to box outside Japan, that would be more record-breaking for him.
He has had a few fights outside Japan, but hasn't really focused there. I understand that the lower weight classes aren't as popular in the US. However, since he's planning to move up, he should make sure to fight in the US and let Bob Arum handle the business side. He's a monster in the ring, so he shouldn't be afraid of anyone, and he should take the opportunity to make a lot of money while he's still at his peak.
I think that if it's going to come from Bob and he talks about it going to the US for another fight, there could be some convincing to happen. We'd see about that if it's possible since he's into moving up to another weight division.

But if that's the strategy that he's got then we can't do anything about it. And I won't compare him with Pacquiao, he's far from his level although that's what Inoue is trying to achieve.

People will always have that label on him that he won't fight outside his backyard.

Bob Arum does believe that Inoue is better than Pacman, so he’s likely already working on ways to make big fights happen. Pacman is the only 8-division champion, and for Inoue to surpass that, he would need to win titles in 9 divisions, which would be incredibly difficult. However, Inoue can also create his own legacy by becoming an undisputed champion in every division he fights in, which would be a remarkable on its own.
He's making his own legacy right now and Bob Arum believes more in him than Pacquiao and that is because he's on his prime and he's there for his career. The latter was already retired and that's why he's promoting more of Inoue.

What I'm looking forward to this fight is totally a good match, and if we look back the history of Inoue he already got that big catch against Dohery. His legacy of boxing career has been tough already, so I believed this is a perfect fight that we're about to witness soon if there's no looking back.
If these two boxers got the best of their performance, they'll win by decision and no knock outs will happen based on my opinion.

The fight has already been staged and Inoue won via TKO, you just missed that one mate.

Anyways, we will still see Inoue fighting in Japan this year and it will be against Sam Goodman as per Bob Arum.

Locking this thread now and as usual thanks to all your beautiful comments in this thread that leads to many of us winning the bets we had.
