None, if you want to vote for Bitcoin, it's better to vote this guy. AFAIK he haven't talk anything bad about Bitcoin, although politician is always a politician, you can't really trust anything come from their mouths. If I could say, Trump will 100% win the election since he's always stand out than the other candidates.

It's sad he doesn't stand a chance. This guy would be the best president in my opinion.

When it comes to Biden vs Trump I've said it again and again. They're both old, but Biden is geriatric. He should be laying on a beach somewhere with a drink in his hand, telling stories to grandchildren, not trying to be a leader of a country, when he needs to be lead off the stage every single time he speaks.

It's sad, but they will both love bitcoin if it buys them votes.

There are so many issues that voters should consider besides favorable Bitcoin laws. What is the candidate's plan for the economy, immigration, foreign policies, military spending, etc is also important. Crypto-friendly Americans shouldn't consider just Trump's crypto manifesto.

Exactly. This coming US election is almost entirely about one thing, which is:

* Abortion stays legal = vote for Biden

* Abortion is criminalized across the USA = vote for Trump

Everything else will just be an excuse for most people. Compared to this issue (for either side, given how polarizing this issue is), nothing else really matters.

You're a liar. The Supreme Court has already ruled it is a State's Rights issue, exactly as it should be. Do you liars ever get tired of lying?!

What are you talking about? There are already federal abortion laws on the books, and the 2025 project is very clear that a national ban is the goal. And Congress doesn't even need to approve if Trump simply fails to defend the ridiculous lawsuits against the abortion pill.

The Supreme Court's decision made it clear that any abortion ban could be state or federal.

After many decades of calling abortion "baby murder" in order to gin up the voting base, Republicans now have to pay for this rhetoric: they are the party of the abortion ban, and there's no getting away from that.

~
Biden says negative things about Bitcoin despite SEC accepting Spot Bitcoin ETFs already. I'm not from the US, but who in the hell wants a president that don't even know where to go down after a speech? Who wants a president that already has a dementia? Who wants a president who called President Zelensky as President Putin? I'm not from US, but I will not vote for him. As for Biden's stance with crypto, I believe he don't even know what he said about crypto in the past because he forgot it already. Cheesy

~
I don't want Trump using Bitcoin to increase his popularity, but it is what it is, and he can use it anytime he wants to. Maybe his stance with regards to Bitcoin has changed already because of the acceptance of a Spot Bitcoin ETF, but who knows. This stance of him with regards to cryptocurrency and Bitcoin might change once he becomes a president again.

I believe Biden hate Bitcoin more than Trump because Trump is a businessman and maybe he sees the advantage of Bitcoin already. Biden might not even know the term "Bitcoin" anymore. If only I will vote based on how they support Bitcoin, I'll go for Trump.

For Biden, he has been vocal about his stance on Bitcoin and that hasn't shifted but for Trump's case, we see that he's now pro Bitcoin in recent times because not only is it lucrative but it can also swing so many supporters his way as he bids for another shot at being president of the US. If you ask me, I'd say Biden really hates Bitcoin and won't be seen associating or buying it, whereas Trump can be said to be a business man who looks to thr currency that is holdinguch sway in the market. It's safe to call him an opportunist as well.
You can see in his speech that he promised to make sure Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are given free rein when he becomes president, promised to free Ross Ulbricht and also free Julian Assange.
As a crypto enthusiast, if you hear all these words, won't you be moved to cast your vote for him? But the question there will be; can he pull through with these words or will they just be that? Words.
.

Trump may have shifted his stance and made some concrete statements in support of Bitcoin. That doesn't make things easy for him. It's a tough job being the president of the United States and still supporting Bitcoin because BTC's dominance in the financial sector could whittle down the influence of the USD. What's exciting about Trump is his shifting stance towards crypto. What's uncertain about him is that he may yet shift again after being elected and faced with the choice of supporting either the USD against BTC or letting BTC thrive at the expense of the USD. With countries like China, India, Russia, South Africa, and Iran seeking an opportunity to drop the USD as a reserve currency, it's the wrong time for a US president to fully back BTC.
That's exactly my point. You can't come out boldly, declaring big things that will favor Bitcoin but not the Dollar and not expect to be met with opposition in the long run and I don't see Donald Trump like the type of man to not cave under pressure. As it is, he's just using the fact that he accepts Bitcoin in his campaigns and also championing for it as a front; wait till he gets what he wants if it will still be the same thing.
If he can speak ill of Bitcoin in 2019, I don't see why he can't do it again six years later.

Thank you for bringing this out, I've never trusted Trump and I've been looking for a quote where Trump has condemned crypto in the past. The guy is only desperate to support cryptocurrency now for his campaigns due to the popularity of the industry. I only wonder why most people will fall for it, he has never been known for truth.

As for your question, I don't think any of them hate cryptocurrency, they do not just buy the idea of it and it is understandable. We should all respect their way of life on this, it's not everybody that will love crypto, especially with the way it is decentralised and can harbour a lot of criminality.

Who is the right guy to vote if it all depends on their stance on Bitcoin. Can we carefully read in-between the lines?
No one is the right guy for the crypto, both are equally bad. Trump mentions Bitcoin lately because he wants to get more votes from people who support cryptocurrencies but at the same time his promises are terrible for real crypto enthusiasts and everything he said about Bitcoin is the opposite of what Bitcoin does and what Bitcoin community aims.
He wants to make Bitcoin centralized, Made in USA. This tells everything.

Bitcoin went up 500% under president Biden.

Trump promises massive changes to the US economy:

1. He will deport 5% of the US workforce, leading to massive labor shortages and shortfalls for things like Social Security that depends on younger workers.

2. He will make abortion illegal nationwide, which will require the largest new law enforcement effort in the US since the Prohibition (which begat the FBI, let us not forget). Such a crackdown is going to necessarily need to come after things like Bitcoin since it can be used to pay for illegal abortions.

3. He will surely manipulate the market for his own purposes, making himself and family billions of dollars, but at the expense of ordinary investors. (Trump could effectively make Bitcoin illegal with a simple order, and force Americans to replace Bitcoin with TrumpCoin, since the price into the toilet).

The safest vote, if you value your Bitcoin, is to stick with the president who saw the price appreciate by 500%.
Are you kidding? Yeah, Bitcoin went up 500% under President Biden this just happened automatically without his influence. Bitcoin didn't rise because of President Joe Biden, Bitcoin went up because of ETF approval and Bitcoin halving. Bitcoin would go up the same if Trump was a president today, this has nothing to do with Joe Biden.

It's not what Biden did, it's what he didn't do. He left the market alone and the price soared. Trump promises massive changes to the US economy and society. That is what he is running on: change.

A vote for Biden is a vote to keep things going great like they have been.

Neither because "all doesn't depend on Bitcoin". You are living in a society with countless major issues like any other society and a president has to have some plans for each and every one of them and Bitcoin is not among the top 100. Not to mention what a politician says has absolutely no value, what they do does.

Neither one of these two are capable of addressing any of those issues. One is too old to have the mental capacity to work, the other one is almost as old but not as senile but he is too radical which is far worse.
That means the choice is between bad and worse, so either the choices aka the candidates have to change (assuming there is any democracy left in America) or you go with the bad choice instead of the worse and avoid the radical.

From the standpoint of bitcoiner, I wouldn't vote for any of them. Thank heavens, I don’t have this dilemma, because I am not a resident of their country. Smiley

Once these two candidates suddenly became supporters of bitcoin, everyone forgot what they had said about bitcoin before. Thank you for reminding of this. Politics has always been a dirty business, in which neither honesty nor decency is inherent. Politicians quickly forget words spoken before (promises). I wouldn’t be surprised if all this feigned BTC-positivity will change the vector of development to the position of BTC-opponents after being elected president. It is naive to expect the state machine to approve and accept a system (bitcoin) created as an alternative and, in fact, conflicting with the traditional financial system.

I would say no one should be believe when it comes to crypto. There are bigger issues for them to handle and your voting should not be based on just cryptocurrency.

Politicians can make thousands of promises about anything and everything under the sun. But they may not fulfill such promises after the election. We have many such examples. So focus on the bigger picture while voting.

Of course, we need to look at the big picture before deciding who to vote for, but we're on the bitcoin forum and we are all crypto investors. Therefore, it is understandable that people tend to pay more attention to candidates with a pro-cryptocurrency stance. Many people consider bitcoin and cryptocurrency to be a part of their lives and future, so there is nothing wrong with them relying on this factor to vote for candidates.

There is no guarantee that they will deliver on their promises when elected, but I would rather trust someone who makes promises than support someone who goes public and introduces a series of crypto crackdown regulations.

Hate is a strong word. I think both are just very old and thus not in the pro-Bitcoin demographic. That's simply because for the vast majority of their lives, Bitcoin did not exist, and they've obtained their wealth within the traditional economy. Then there's also an issue of Trump being very 'America first', and that entails the USD first. He wants a strong USD, so any other currency is a rival. But he's also shifting policies to gain wider support, becoming more open to the idea of Bitcoin. Meanwhile, Biden is honestly doing I don't know what because he seems unfit to run for presidency and yet does not want to give his party a chance with a different candidate.

Trump does like it, Biden probably has no idea about it. That's the difference between them, I do not think that either hates it and sometimes you do not have to hate something. I believe that Trump likes it, which means that he is not a person who would hate something that benefits him, so he is not a hater and he will do even more than what he has done so far to make more money from crypto, it is going to definitely help with all of it. However, we need to remember that it is not an easy choice, we need to make sure that we are going to end up with a good return one way or another, should be a good deal without a doubt.

I think the best way to go right now would be just focusing on how we could provide some stuff, it is not going to be all that complicated, it is going to end up with Biden not liking as the closest.

However, in that case I do not think that Biden doesn't dislike it neither, he probably has no clue, dude probably doesn't know where he is most of the time and thinking that he is going to hate something he doesn't even understand? I do not think so. This is why we need to realize that life isn't always all that fair, but we could probably do a better job over time than these two, we just need to wait four more years until they are both gone.

At the end of the day, they're both politicians and would like to get the sentiment of the people that are in Bitcoin.

Trump can say that he's not really into Bitcoin and doesn't like it because of its volatility. Both have generic thoughts about Bitcoin and that were their former.

Now that with the upcoming months, it's important for them to address each issue that should be in favor of them from the people that have read their thoughts oppositely.

They are both indirectly not in support of bitcoin. Even if Trump is speaking positively about bitcoin now, that does not mean that he has good intentions for the technology; it's all about standing with something that can help his political agenda. That's all I see here.

The truth is that politicians can't be trusted, they can say something today and the next time they say something different again. His concern about bitcoin right now may not be genuine and we can't really tell if his support for bitcoin is real or not, let me just accept that trump was ignorant about bitcoin in the past but right now maybe he might have gotten a good understanding about bitcoin.
Quote
So if you are casting your vote, it should be based on what you think the person can be able to do to help the country achieve more height and the citizen be more comfortable, not what they promised to do for bitcoin, which I doubt they will even keep their word once they achieve that political office.

Governments hate privacy and anonymity, so anyone standing and representing a government office, especially that of the US, can hardly stand fully with Bitcoin.

I think vote should be based on capacity,  looking at these contestant and go for the person that has the citizens at hearts.   If we just follow politicians on what they say when elections are by the corners we may end up choosing the wrong leader.  If I'm voting I'll go for the person I know that can make good impact to the life of the people.

This is emphatic, expressing total lack of interest and no room to have a rethink about it. Which means, if he has an option to stop bitcoin, he will.

This is a statement of fact or true. All Trump said about cryptocurrency above is true.
  • Not a legal tender (save for El Salvador)
  • Highly volatile
  • If unregulated, it can facilitate illegal deals.
Trump was more open and showed that he knows about cryptocurrency than Biden.

Trump was more open and showed that he knows about cryptocurrency than Biden.
So it becomes increasingly clear who will actually be part of crypto or Bitcoin and who really doesn't know what Bitcoin is and what is in it.

Trump seems more realistic and reveals facts that he should have said,
but certainly does not rule out the possibility of fully supporting him someday.

When the current election is getting hotter and there is a shooting against Trump,
this makes the attention of the American people focused on Trump and Biden helpless.

Obviously, Trump is more of that man who is willing to dive into new ideas, learn new things and diversify. I knew much about him during his election with Hillary. He is bold and audacious. He is able to say big things and find a way to accomplish them among all odds. I learnt that he said something nice about cryptocurrency recently, but many people understood that it was mere pre-election promises. But I have known him as someone who is able to stand and defend his statement anytime.

When it comes to crypto talk of POTUS, I would prefer to have Joe Biden who seems to be more neutral figure in influencing the crypto landscape than have Trump in the driving seat that will see volatility on the raise as his always speculating on anything and everything and an asset such as Bitcoin doesn't need uncertainty at the moment!!!

And besides, Trump coming back will not only affect Crypto but fiat will be impacted with his usual tweets, and conferences... trading is about to get one hell of a bumpy ride!!

Who is the right guy to vote if it all depends on their stance on Bitcoin. Can we carefully read in-between the lines?

I don't care about politicians but it seems their interests in Bitcoin is really playing big impact on it. Like when Trump announced his Vice yesterday, Bitcoin price shoot up because the vice is a Bitcoin maximalist as they say but here are the things I want to say a out Biden and Trump and Bitcoin.

When Trump was in office, he said many bad things about Bitcoin, worst than what Biden is trying to with the crypto regulations they are trying to pass so badly, says a lot of things that crash the Bitcoin market but after he lost the office, he saw the big impact on the people, minted some NFTs on ethereum and now he is calling a big shot to give Bitcoin  a second chance. I hope he doesn't change when he get to the office.

Biden is just trying to be neutral and sometimes do politics and right now, he doesn't know anything than the regulations they are trying to pass but my question is wouldn't Trump do the same when he get to the office, he doesn't rule the US alone and the number of people that does crypto aren't big than the half population of the entire US. I just think we have to wait to see how it will turn out later after the election.
