Only the important people in the seminar will give formal speeches, but in terms of pronunciation of
"hold" and
"hodl" there is not much difference (probably because of my different language).

It's just playing with words and there's nothing serious about it, okay, you call us mindless fools and idiots. There are formal and informal words that for sure you're using IRL.
Just the wordplay that exists on this forum, won't change anything, even if the letters are different. And of course when anyone calls us stupid and idiot because the problem of mentioning with different letters cannot always be justified.
It's just about habit, if you don't agree then don't use those words.
