What are some must-read books on Austrian economics? I'm adding books to my Amazon cart, and I'd love to get your two cents. At the moment, I have
Basic Economics of the great Thomas Sowell, and the
Anatomy of the State by Murray Rothbard.
I'm not very familiar with this lot but you will find alot of literature on the foundations of the Austrian School of economics if you are interested, found some online when I was browsing for books too. One of its ground texts is Ludwig von Mises' "Human Action," in which a systematic analysis of economic theory and the role of choice explaining market processes were introduced. Another book i know in this direction is Friedrich Hayek's work, "The Path of Slavery," which deals with issues of a particular system and as I remember is about relationship to individual freedom. Henry Hazlitt's " Economics in One Text" clearly and painlessly incorporates the principles behind Austrian economics, including monetary policy.
