As I was scrolling through my Facebook I saw this photo and how the image discribes the poor to be a kind of people that wears expensive thing to impress people to look like the rich, and the other way round, the rich appears to be simple probably not to be noticed as a rich person. My question now is that,

Does wearing of expensive cloths, shoes and other expensive things a sign of being poor? Or does it mean the rich doesn't wear expensive things or doesn't leave a luxurious lifestyle?

The reason why you seen most of this rich people dressing very simple is because they wouldn't want people to know that they're rich, sometimes they also dress like that so as to hide their identity. If you're a rich man and you're wearing expensive clothes and shoes all the time definitely people will envy you that is why you see most of the rich people appearing very simple.

Actually most of the poor people you see wearing those expensive clothes and shoes probably is just the money they hustle out from all this daily job trying to competite with the rich, it doesn't make any sense trying to put yourself in a level that you're not even up to. the funniest part is that most of this poor people you see with expensive stuffs they barely feed, I'm not saying that the poor shouldn't appear decent but at least we should buy the things we know we can afford and also have some change left so as to use it to Sort out other things.

To be honest, the first guy wears cheaper clothes than the second one. The first guy probably wears cheap clothes bought from Shein or Temu while there is a high chance that the second guy wears expensive but very minimalistic Gucci clothes. Or maybe, the second person doesn't care about his appearance and doesn't invest in clothes? Yes, there are men who don't look good and also don't care about their looks or prefer the nerd style or dress like their grandpas.

I have often seen poor girls who invest in their clothes, haircare, makeup and smartphone. They look like millionaires but when I visited them, they were living in a very small basement and were very far from the impression that their looks left on me. So are some men too.

People have different priorities and that's all. I am not rich and don't want to flex what I am not but I invest in clothes and in my look because first of all, I want to look good (I'm metrosexual, not gay) and second of all, looks matter. When you look good, you attract attention, you have a higher chance to get job promotion and so on.

In the modern era with increasingly advanced technology, style and character have become a trend in everyday life. From the picture that the OP put in this thread, it refers to the lifestyle of rich and poor people, we should not judge other people by dressing in expensive clothes, it could be just a character in their daily lives.

I don't think generalization can be made here. Most poor people earn just enough to afford necessities, and don't have any leftovers left to 'pretend' rich while some rich like to flaunt their wealth, some do not.

There's no way that you could really be able to stop people on having those kind of judgment on which we know that when it comes to this aspect then people would really be always having something has to say on whatever the things that they would really be able to see out or something that they could observe. Yes, its true that we dont have the rights on what are the things that people will do into their money whether buying up things that they do want or like on which it would be in connection into the things that they do wore or whatever that we could see. Its their funds so its their decisions on where they would really be focusing into. Somehow as a human being then you could really be able to observe and lets say that you could make out comments on what are the viable or sensible things that they must do instead on focusing on buying that something which isnt something that beneficial.

It isnt really that bad on buying up on what we do want but make it sure that it wont really be something in excess or really just that too much. The wrong thing about most people been doing is that
they dont really get easily contented on what they do have. As long they do have the money or funds that they could have then they would really be definitely be buying it because

This is true, expensive clothes don't always look flashy and modern, sometimes really expensive clothes are about materials, origin, limited editions from top brands...So if we want to judge others by their appearance, we should at least have some understanding of fashion, don't be so quick to judge others based on your little understanding. It just shows we are jealous of them.

I agree with you, it all depends on preference and everyone has different priorities. It's their money and they can do whatever they like, we have no right to judge others. There are too many people here who like to judge others, like to impose their thoughts on others. But I wonder, do they ever look at themselves before judging others? Are they qualified to judge someone?

Secondly, a poor person can afford a shirt for $1200. With the value of the clothes the "poor guy" got, you can tell he is not poor because no poor person can afford them.

I also wonder about this, once called poor people, where will they get the large amount of money to buy expensive things? This happens very often, rich people want to appear simple and poor people want to appear rich. However, not all are like that, so we can't generalize that all poor people look luxurious, maybe because of the demands of their jobs such as celebrities, lawyers and maybe there are other jobs that require them to look glamorous to attract fans or clients.

Rich people do on average want to appear simple, don't want to be complicated. They always buy everything in cash, never on credit. They have businesses, savings, and investments everywhere. The point is rich people are more secretive about their personal wealth, and they will give alms without other people knowing. This is very different from people who want to look rich and show off what they have.

I think it depends on the people's fashion,because there are also rich people who wear expensive things,and there are poor who that didn't want to look like a rich, although most of the poor wanted to look like rich but still there are poor who didn't want to waste thier hard earn money to buy expensive thing to look like a rich in the eye of the crowd. So it depends on fashion and the decisions of the people because we have different status in life.

Poor people are concerned with material things because they are in need of it or should I say obsessed, poverty is a state of mind so if you give a person with this mindset some millions they will end up lavishing it and buying expensive things. The mentality is the key here, the resources that we have at our disposal are limited and how we decide to use them will dictate if we improve our lives with them or not, someone spending most of their disposable income in clothes and other luxuries will most likely never progress in life, while someone that started on the same conditions but used their money to prepare themselves and invest, will soon enough find themselves with more money than what they know what to do with.

So what do you think about this picture of him? This photo was taken at the wedding of India's richest family, and Zuckerberg was wearing a shirt with lots of gold embellishments.

Why isn't he wearing a t-shirt and jeans like when he met the Nigerian? And does he really not own any expensive clothes like you're saying? LOL. Rich people are very smart and they can communicate through their appearance, they not only want to attract the crowd but also want to win people's trust. So don't be too naive and rush to believe that they are very humble and simple people just because they dress simply in front of you.



Or at the Everland party, he wore an Alexander McQueen vest with a dragonfly pattern and as far as I know it cost over $7,000.

I also think like that because in reality it is quite clear that poor people are always busier thinking about daily food every month from the results of their own hard work. While rich people will always shape themselves to be more useful and more respected by everyone because the direction focused by rich people is very different from the focus of poor people who are only focused on food.

Rich people who appear simple from the outside are very smart rich people because they care more about how to turn money around in order to get more money, but rest assured that clothes that look simple on rich people's bodies are not cheap clothes. So we also can't judge it simply because rich people will definitely wear more comfortable clothes even though they don't look so luxurious in the eyes of many people, but they must be clothes that have famous brands and also material quality that is not simple.

It's not every rich person that dress so simple as the image has shown and it's not also all poor people that dresses all good to impress others. Some poor people are still contented with what they have while some rich people too will dress very nice and wealthy all the time. All of those things depends on personal interest, although I can not deny the fact that some poor people like to show off but some of the materials that they use to show off might not even be their own. There what is called "borrow-pose", showing off what what does not belong to them.

Every thing in life actually depends on personal interest, both rich people and poor people have their own ways of doing things, is not all rich people that are humble, some of them are so proud, and will not think of downgrading themselves for no reason, they don't bother about the expenses and always purchase every materialistic things that they need or deserve, just to make them appear rich, good, classic, healthy and also bring out their beauty in the eyes of people, and a make them different in the mix of poor people. The rich are the ones that flaunt their wealth while the poor might not even have enough to afford even the fake of those luxury shoes, wears, wrist watches etc. Life can be as difficult for the poor not even to to the extent of not having the time to check for the price tag or how much the cost of what the rich are wearing. Some feel like that's not their priority and it's not necessary. Although there are people that wouldn't mind going as far to know how much their celebrities are wearing when they don't even have a job to fend for themselves. I believe those kinds of images are misleading, makes it seem the rich does not actually go around and enjoy luxury, when in reality they do it.
There are entire purse and handbags made by recognized designers which are supposed to only be bought by the richest women on the planet, there are expensive sport cars which are only to be bought and drive by millionaires/billionaires and there are also very expensive restaurants where the minimum meal could cost several hundreds of dollars per person.
Those are businesses which continue to thrive to this day (they do not go bankrupt) and it is because there rich people out there willing to spend part of their fortune in luxurious articles and products.

The image of a person who does not spend much on what they swear and use in the daily routine is someone who saves money (for whatever reason) but does not mean they are rich, they could be saving money because they are even poorer than the person on the left of the image

I think rich people use more luxuries  because they have more resources. Poor people have less resources and they can't enjoy life of rich people but they show like they are rich person. The rich people have more assets than poor and middle class people. Rich always learn about things before investment but poor people blindly invest in anything. Middle class people are also poor people but they have more money than poor people and they always show to be a rich person. They have enough salary but they have no knowledge of finance and they spend their money in useless things abd that's why they are not rich people.
