Here's I'm collecting some mysterious FAQ you might find interested and not even in the wiki -

1. If Theymos has the administrator role does he actually knows about Satoshi?

- Find out Theymos on BitcoinTalk

- It's better if you can find the answer directly from him.

It's surprising how well-documented history can become totally forgotten... Satoshi created the forum on Nov 22, 2009, and was head administrator until almost 2011. Then Sirius was head administrator until 2012, which is when I took over.

Cobra also owns the bitcointalk.org domain name. I consider the forum to be basically owned by or at least dedicated to the Bitcoin community, though; I don't call anyone an owner of the forum.

2. Who is sirius guy then? Does he actually know about Satoshi?

- Find Sirius On BitcoinTalk.

Till this day he gets back online on forum quite regular. Though he didn’t  post anything since August  2014.

So basically he was the developer of Bitcointalk forum. Here's some email with sirius and satoshi 2009-2011. They used Cryptography email

Source -
https://mmalmi.github.io/satoshi/

3. So what platform was it satoshi finds Sirius to contact with?

A quote from email
Quote
Thanks for starting that topic on ASC, your understanding of bitcoin is
spot on

Unfortunately I Couldn't find this Topic made by Sirius and the platform ASC. Not even single scratch on Internet through search enginge. If you have the information add this please.  I will update this thread.

4. Where was the first article announced about bitcoin?

- Well it was the Whitepaper published by Satoshi Nakamoto himself on Metzdowd Oct 31 2008.

This was the date when the concept of bitcoin intruded by satoshi towards people.

Find the source - https://www.metzdowd.com/pipermail/cryptography/2008-October/014810.html

5. If bitcoin.org a registered domain why It's not possible to trace the owner -

The domain bitcoin.org registered with anonymousspeech.com. Credit card is not required. You can pay them through prepaid card bought by cash at any local store.

Here's a article about anonymousspeech.com and It's founder you might find interesting - https://www.businessinsider.com/swiss-software-developer-bitcoin-2014-4?IR=T

These all came up when the first question appeared on my head. So  I was looking everywhere and collected som data. I thought it would be convenient If some of these Questioned answered in a single thread. I tried to use source rather than Wikis.

Cause wikis can be messed up -
Here's why I didn’t go for wiki -

I just search about BitcoinTalk in wikipedia. It shows BitcoinTalk Launched in 2011 and registered in August 2011.

If you have more question that should be added on these topics you can ask. I will update the thread If I find any convenient answer about that topic.

It might not be as messed up as you think. Technically, BitcoinTalk =/= forum. Indeed, the forum was created in 2009 by Satoshi. BitcoinTalk didn't exist at that time yet. The forum initially used SourceForge and then moved to bitcoin.org/smf, then to forum.bitcoin.org, and finally to bitcointalk.org. BitcoinTalk only came up in 2011, coined by Jeff Garzik. It was also the same man who bought the domain bitcointalk.org.

This is a hot topic, the relationship between theymos and satoshi is not a domain of public information, and is better that way because we respect theymos, what he has done for the community is invaluable, and if satoshi decide to be anonymous we all respect that side.

As part of this community i will always be grateful to both of them, and if Bitcoin is something now days is because Sirius, Theymos, and satoshi worked really hard on the project.

I remember an interview @sirius did in 2016-2018 and he answered a lot of questions, if you remember the link or someone remembers it it would be helpful.
One piece of information is that the first Bitcoin code was hosted on Bitcoin.org and then moved to sourceforge and finally Github.
Also the forum was part of Bitcoin.org and then this domain was purchased.

I have never known of any interview of Sirius (Martti Malmi) but the search gives me two interviews.

Thoughts about the Future Of Bitcoins by Bitcoin Developer, Martti Malmi
Bitcoin 2014 conference - Interviewing Martti Malmi

Any of these interviews is your expected one?

I have Bitcointalk's important historic changes with information on forum administration changes.

Years ago, on Youtube, Cyrus started this https://www.youtube.com/BitcoinTalkShow

It's collected by @BlackHatCoiner, not @Sirius.

Having brought uo this thread i would be willing to ask something that has been in he deepest part of my mind. If anyone have solid answers to the question i will be grateful.
My deepest question would, is Theymos not Satoshi?

Also the forum was part of Bitcoin.org and then this domain was purchased.
Perhaps this is the thread where sirius said a lot about the forum, he impressively gathered all Satoshi's posts in one comment. Still going through the thread to find some answers to my doubtful mind.
I gathered every Satoshi Nakamoto thread. by @Sirius

I already answer this question sir in this thread. By Quoting Theymos post. I hope you will look for it again

In addtion Here's the Satoshi forum account. Kindly have a look. Theymos join bitcointalk February 2010,  while Satoshi joined November 19, 2009.

I saw this post it was really helpfull. He goes for every article and stored it in one place. Also please cross check this thread cause it’s not made by Sirius  It's written by BlackHatCoiner

Yeah, and him being a administrator,

The story of how I became head admin is actually pretty boring. Moderators were needed, so I was made a global moderator. Then admins were needed, so I was made an admin. Then over time the other admins slowly lost interest and resigned until I was the only one left. I guess most of the people who were around here to see this have more-or-less left the community now. That's a bit sad.

It's not entirely clear, but for simplicity I usually say that I became head admin at the beginning of 2011, a little over a year after the forum was created.

The forum was originally located at bitcoin.org/smf, then forum.bitcoin.org (hence the redirect), and finally bitcointalk.org. Fun fact: The name "bitcointalk" was invented by Jeff Garzik, and he's the one who bought the domain.

Oh cool, i had to go through some of his old posts back in 2010 and most of them were him asking lot of questions for a better understanding of how the forum works. However, he is a lucky fellow but what i know is that anyone who wants to remain anonymous and start over with a different personality of course needs to act dumb at the early stage.

The knowledge of Theymos via the Bitcoin technology is great, I blindly started believing he had to be Satoshi if not for this clue you pointed. Thanks again LoyceVv

It's like being a spy or CIA afterward you then you try to make people think you were never a spy but then a couple of years, you decide to become head of CIA anyway. How then do you beat the previous allegations suggesting that you were/are a spy?

Is it possible to create something you so much valued and something you wish to stand the test of time. Then, you hand it over to a random online stranger who you cannot trace by any means.

Maybe Troytech is suggesting a lil behind the scene relationship between Satoshi and Theymos that triggered that level of trust. But if anyone considers that it wasn't directed from Satoshi to theymos, you'll understand that there could be alot of dots to connect or there could just be only one dot to connect.

To me, there's no point trying to uncover that mystery of the administration of the forum, just like it is futile trying to uncover Satoshi. Everything is fine and theymos has been great over the years, maybe we should just be content with that.

R

To me, there's no point trying to uncover that mystery of the administration of the forum, just like it is futile trying to uncover Satoshi. Everything is fine and theymos has been great over the years, maybe we should just be content with that.
You know sometimes I had to think if there were form of communication like connecting with each others via video to know whom they are actually passing any important details to, but it's surprising to see that administration power is being passed to one another without any formal or verbal communication to know whom they are really dealing with, although the trust has been established.

Here Theymos already made it clear, that the forum to be owned by or be dedicated to it community, Satoshi is anonymous, we cant have his identity, we don't know if he is a single person or a group of person, also from your quote here, there have been other existing administrator before Theymos was appointed and till now, we still have Cyrus as admin as well, we don't know about the future, if they will also passed it on to anyone to be in charge or not, which i believe its not by how conversant they are with anyone taking over the forum admin, but believing in the capacity through what they can deliver, for your answer, if Theymos knows Satoshi, then there is probability other previous admins also knew him, but if he doesn't, we may apply the same on others, i think Theymos may be the only one to give the best response on this, though i dont know your motive for knowing about all these.

It's curiosity sir. If any new member just suddenly noticed Theymos is administrator but Satoshi is the founder isn’t it common to have this question in mind. So he needs to search all sorts of data which I go through. So I tried to collect all possible question and answer them in a single thread. So a Newbie or even a curious guy who didn’t even think but looked this question might appear and wants to learn other things.

I tried to keep answers simple and added sources so that reader can learn them if he is more curios. Thank you sir

... and if satoshi decide to be anonymous we all respect that side.

As part of this community i will always be grateful to both of them, and if Bitcoin is something now days is because Sirius, Theymos, and satoshi worked really hard on the project.

I agree if Satoshi wants to remain anonymous, then let him have it, out of respect to what he has done not only to the community but to the world.

If he wants to get out, he will give a hint.. I don't believe he will surprise us by holding a media conference, He will likely prepare us for his coming out.

This kind of topic will continue to pop because we will have new people coming in and a new generation that will continue to ask who and where Satoshi is.

This kind of topic will continue to pop because we will have new people coming in and a new generation that will continue to ask who and where Satoshi is.
Newbies now and in future will be curious with the classic question but majority of them will not do research or do not research properly. Consequently this question will continue to be asked repeatedly.

They can know how to search properly but are too lazy to do it, but there is a [Guide] Searching effectively which can help newbies who don't know of tips for searching.

This is a hot topic, the relationship between theymos and satoshi is not a domain of public information, and is better that way because we respect theymos, what he has done for the community is invaluable, and if satoshi decide to be anonymous we all respect that side.

Yeah, that issue has popped up in my mind occasionally over the years, but since I value anonymity very highly and respect others' right to it, I never put my hand to my chin and gave it any deep thought.  What I have wondered about way more frequently is how nobody has apparently been able to identify Satoshi in this day and age--it seems impossible that someone could disappear without a trace like he did, and I'm pretty sure at least one government would be very interested in finding him, and probably way more than one.

Interesting questions and thoughts, OP.  I've been here for years but I'm not even close to being an expert on the forum and its history, and you taught me a few things.  Props to you.

Maybe he spent the last decade in prison already, waiting to give up his private keys.... And that's my best-case scenario, in which he's still alive. Why else would anyone disappear like this after creating the biggest invention in finance since .... since sliced bread Tongue
