October 19: Tim Tszyu vs. Bakhram Murtazaliev
Prime Video | IBF Junior Middleweight Title | 12 Rounds | Orlando, Florida

Fight Comparison:

Bakhram Murtazaliev's Record:

Tim Tszyu's Record:

Tim Tszyu is coming off a loss against Sebastian Fundora. He was the favorite in that fight, but Fundora pulled off an upset, winning by split decision. While many expected a rematch, it seems Tszyu has moved on to challenge for another title... this time for the IBF World Super Welterweight belt.

When it comes to betting odds, there aren’t any official lines yet, but early available infomration show Tszyu as a slight favorite.

I’m not 100% confident that Tim Tszyu will win this one either, especially since he’s been upset before. As for Murtazaliev, he’s not exactly young at 31, but according to reports, his rise in the rankings has been pretty fast, so he must be skilled if we’re basing it on that.

Of course, with Tszyu being more popular, it makes sense that he’s the favorite, but like I mentioned, he got upset in his last fight.

Against Fondura, his odds to win were -575, but we all saw what happened there.

It was very different though, he suffered a accidental cut during that fight and so the complexion changes and it was a bloody fight. And also the height of Fundora might have given Tim a hard time to adjust and make the necessary counter.

But against a unknown fighter here, it will give Time the much needed confident win here and it's for the belt. He lost the belt against Fundora and they should have a rematch. However, it seems that Crawford vs Fundora is going to be work in the background. But still, he will have his chance to be a champion again, so it's all good for Tim and I wouldn't be surprised if he is the favorite once again.

Wow, it's great to see someone believe in the challenger! I thought everyone here was favoring Tim Tszyu since, like they said, Murtazaliev is an unknown boxer. Thanks for sharing that info, at least now we know that Tszyu’s opponent is dangerous too. I can’t imagine what would happen if Tim Tszyu loses again. Would that mean his career is over?

Definitely, every boxer has a chance to win, even if they are the underdog. Although I might have to agree with the majority that I'm not familiar with Murtazaliev. So I took the privilege to look for his highlight reels.

And there was one comment wherein he says that he looks like Beterbiev, yeah I do agree with that, a young version of Beterbiev at a lower weight class and so let's see if he has what it takes to beat Tzsyu at this point as Tim will be coming from a big upset lost from Fundora.

Bakhram Murtazaliev could be a tailor fit fight Tim Tszyu. So in paper it might be a good fight and Murtazaliev has a great chance. Nevertheless, this is a comeback fight for Tim after that nightmare match with Fundora in which he lost his belt.

So it's double motivation for Tim here to win, it could be a tough match up for him, but at the end of the 12 rounds, I'm seeing Tim hands being raised in a 12 rounds unanimous decision win to stay in the hunt for a Fundora rematch or a fight with Bud Crawford early next yeaer.

If Bahram Murtazaliev wins the fight against Tim Tszyu, then fights with more famous opponents (for example, a fight with Terence Crawford) await him. Murtazaliev defeated Jack Culkai. And Jack Culkai's fighting style is very similar to Tim Tszyu's. Tim Tszyu, like Jack Culkai, likes to be overly active and often misses punches. And Bahram Murtazaliev is a master of knockout punches.
He does not rely on exhausting the opponent, but on a quick victory with a clear knockout. At the same time, Murtazaliev himself is very hardy.
But the main thing is that he knows how to set himself up for victory. This is a very valuable fighting quality.

Murtazaliev does have great records, and he does look tough but the people he fought are not top contenders. This guy must have fought everyone who are also unknown and this very fight against Tim Tszyu is likely a tune-up for Tim.

Fundora didn't make it easy to win against Tim. Murtazaliev is not the most feared or known in boxing but yep he is an IBF champ. We'll see what could happen during the fight it's still in next month though.

Bakhram Murtazaliev is unbeaten IBF Super Welterweight World Champion. He is a Russian boxer and he will have a match with Tim Tszyu on 19th of October. In 2021 he beat light middleweight match against Khiary Gray.  He also beat Jack Culcay to win the IBF light middleweight title and this match was held in this year. Now he will be playing with his contender Tszyu and i expect it to be an interesting fight.

For more info on the fight, check this links:

This pairing of Tim Tszyu and Bakhram Murtazaliev has some interesting elements, especially with this loss coming close on the heels of his close loss to Sebastian Fundora. It could increase the pressure on him to perform well in this fight. Because he wanted to come back and prove that he was still an excellent fighter for the juniors in the Central Army.

Murtasaliyev, on his part, is a strong fighter himself. And another important aspect is also his strength and stats, even though Tszyu is generally considered a slight favourite. But the fights can be quite tight. Especially if Murtazaliev uses the one potential weakness of Tszyu, that defeat later on could be-.

In the case of Paris It'll be interesting to see how things develop as the day of battle approaches. And there's more information about both the fighter's training and preparation. If you want to bet Viewing training reports Injury reports and other related things can be valuable. How do you think Tszyu's traumatic experience will affect the way he handles this fight?

Fundora didn't make it easy to win against Tim. Murtazaliev is not the most feared or known in boxing but yep he is an IBF champ. We'll see what could happen during the fight it's still in next month though.

I think Tim Tszyu's plan is to fight a champion in the same division, so if he wins, the next step would be a unification fight with Fondura. I believe there’s still a rematch clause for his fight against Fondura, and it could be activated anytime, especially since Tszyu was the champion at that time, meaning he could dictate the terms.

Let’s hope for a positive outcome in favor of Tim Tszyu, but Bakhram Murtazaliev shouldn’t be underestimated either.

Right, but the thing is that there are talks about Crawford and Fundora next, it could be just another rumor for now, but it make sense that this fight is going to be made before Tim can rematch Fundora or challenge the winner of that fight, if that is the perfect plan for them.

Yes, we wanted Tim to win, not a hater of Bakhram Murtazaliev, it's that he is a relatively unknown boxer to us and we wanted to see how this great boxers are going to match against each other at 154 lbs. Bakhram Murtazaliev though is the champion here and Tim is the challenger, but I still see Tim getting the nod from odd makers and he could be put at a slight favorite in this fight.

Honestly, I’ve never really been impressed with Tim Tszyu because from what I’ve seen, his opponents weren’t exactly top-tier, which is how he became champion. So when he lost to Fondura, I wasn’t surprised, I always thought he’d eventually be exposed. I even consider him overrated (sorry to say). For this match, I’m betting on Murtazaliev (the so-called unknown boxer) to pull off a huge upset.

True, he was a champion for a reason, and now he’s got a shot at redemption against a champion to become unified. This might be his last chance; otherwise, he could end up as just another champ who faded away quickly. Personally, I think Murtazaliev is an underrated boxer, and if the betting lines are already up, I’d probably lean toward betting on the underdog, especially if the odds are attractive.

Murtazaliev is undefeated, but with 16 KOs in 22 fights, he’s not exactly a high-volume puncher or a knockout artist. So I might go for him winning by decision, or maybe even Tszyu by decision. Either way, the odds for that are likely around x3+, which is tempting.

There's no odds yet from the sports bookies that I place on boxing bet, but I will also tend to lend that somewhat Tim will be the favorite here because he is a former champion and has the name to back it up as compare to Murtazaliev.

If it is true that he is not a high volume puncher, then he will have his hands full against Tim because Tim is known to be very aggressive and will put you in the corner and then attack you at any angle and go for the knockout.

Of course, betting on the underdog is very attractive, but not sure if Murtazaliev has the tools to beat Tim in this fight.

Good enough fighter in a weaker division, but just to be fair, his lost to Fundora is somewhat controversial and I don't think he was exposed. It was just very unfortunate that accidents happen in the ring, and it was not a unanimous decision win by Fundora, once judge score the fight for Tim. It could have been exposed if Fundora won by a lopsided decision and he schooled Tim.

And that accidental elbow really did damage to Tim and I thought that the fight will be stop by the ring doctor in round 3. But Tim never complained and try to win the fight despite that big disadvantage on him as his corner was not able to stop that bleeding throughout the fight. Now it's redemption time for him and has a chance to be a world champion at 154 lbs.

We can see that Tim Tsyzu has advantage here look at the round he has 141 round and their winning rate is 70% which is super duper good and he much younger but don't forget about the Bakhram Murtazaliev that hold tittle IBF world super welter it is hard to pick but for now I might gonna go to Tim

It's really tough to choose, especially since Tim's coming off a loss, he might be a different fighter in this fight. Sometimes, when an undefeated fighter loses, their confidence takes a hit, and they start doubting themselves. I guess it depends on the betting odds. If Murtazaliev's odds to win outright are +400 or more, a lot of people might bet on him.

I'm seeing a lot of people favoring Murtazaliev here too.

Maybe OP can create a poll so we can all vote and see what everyone thinks.
