Inasmuch there's an increasing rate of gambling centers and gamblers all over Nigeria, we can't fully say that most Nigeria citizens survive mainly on gambling bets rather than having little or more jobs to survive on their own than being solely dependent on gambling that has more losses that its gambling wins.
The opposite is the case, my brother, poverty in Nigeria has pushed so many people to gamble thinking it is an alternative to their predicament in the country, suffering is everywhere. But the truth is that the result has never been good. As a well-informed person who knows what is going on on and off the street, gambling has never been positive for those guys.
As usual in all countries and societies, no matter how good you are at gambling, some will lose and some will gain, but those who are complaining bitterly due to their gambling losses are more than those who are gaining. And those who are gaining are also gaining peanuts from it except a few that would just hit it randomly big, so how is that helping their situation to have warranted the belief that gambling is helping the country's citizens to alleviate the harsh economy?
The best bet is for those who are still living in a harsh economic condition to increase their income streams through more honourable works that will almost guarantee earning, not from gambling which might make them poorer if care is not taken.
