Is there any rank requirement for someone to create a poll in the forum? I have seen some polls and they were created by higher rank members.

If I create a poll and the majority of the members vote in favour of the poll, will the suggestion from the poll that has the highest support be implemented in the forum? Because in some other groups, when a poll is created, opinions from the poll are mostly implemented. How is it done here in the forum ?

this entirely depends on whether theymos will approve of the suggestion or not, there have been suggestions made in the past using a poll and a lot of people agreed with it but theymos never implemented the suggestion on the forum.

The poll is just to get the collective opinion from the community members and certainly, it's not a way of telling that if most people are agreeing to it doesn't mean it will be implemented and for a matter of fact anyone can cast multiple votes because the forum doesn't restrict multiple accounts so it's simply there to get opinions and nothing else.

I doubt if there is a rank requirement. Since you are still.in the member rank, you can run a test poll and see if it works after which you move it to the archival board.

I don't think that how it works. If you're creating a poll, it should be for your personal consumption. Like say, you want to test a hypothesis and see what people think. If it is about a feature you want added or removed from the forum, that isn't going to be possible. The global administrator and some top guys like PowerGlove is the on at decides what's needs to be added or removed. There was a thread for members to make suggestions on what they want to be changed or added and some of these suggestions were implemented. You can find the thread and add yours too. If it is okay, PowerGlove may do it.

Have you tried creating a poll and it says it's only just for some ranked members? No right ?

Create whatever poll you wish to create if it's sensible enough for Theymos to implement he would at his discretion.

In short, it depends on your proposal. If the proposal is good and the admin likes it, it could be implemented. Poll or no poll. It does not matter. The admin has the final say.

The poll button is just next to the ‘New Topic’ button. I suggest youopen the tab and see if it works.

Bitcointalk is run differently from other forums. The community can agree on a new feature or changes to be made to the forum but the final say is left to Theymos. For example, addition of new merit sources there are merit source applications from reputable members that have been lying around for years even though they have the support of the community, Theymos has not yet granted the request.

afaik theres no rank requirement just to use the poll feature and it seems it's just for voting purpose, I guess even in other platforms poll is one of the recommended uses for suggestions and comments. If you have other idea I guess you can propose and possible can be use for discussion for approval. Also you can comment out here your concern Little things that bug you/me about the forum members really love PowerGlove to become busy

Poll doesn't have any rank requirement to create just like making a post.
Most poll I have come across Now are about Bitcoin price or when is going to rise.
If you can create one that can gain the attention of the forum members and Theymos.

No, only Theymos decides what is going to be implemented or not, you can only use a poll to get users' opinions on certain topics and that's that. If you have a suggestions that can improve the forum, all you can do is post it here in meta for discussion, if Theymos considers it as something that will indeed improve the forum, then he will implement it. That being said, you should know that the admin rarely makes changes to the forum.

Rank requirements/ restrictions in a poll or no requirements/ restrictions in a poll, will only depend on the poll creator.

If you are the person who create that poll, but are unsure that if you set up a limit of forum member ranks on the poll voters, whether restrictions affect and make your poll result less accurate, you can create two different polls: one with rank restrictions, and one without rank restrictions. Then you can compare results from two polls and find possible difference.

It depends on who created the poll and wanted to know what the community thinks. If it's you and me, there is nothing wrong with knowing what the community thinks, but let's say we got a result; now, what is the benefit, actually? We are not able to make any changes. If it is theymos who can make any changes, creates a poll, and wants to know if he should disable the new sign-up on the forum, then yes, he may disable it or may not. He has the right to make the decision. It's not a platform where the admin needs to follow what the community suggest. But you are always welcome to create a thread and present your idea.
