That's a really unique coincidence that it's only you that have noticed OP, didn't know that you have to join Twitter first to be credited with something like this, that's seriously and unexpected thing OP. For real though, just because someone did that doesn't mean that they're the creator of bitcoin, we have to look at this thing in a way that respects Satoshi, I think that it's high time that we stop with the investigations and that it's not really for us to find out who's behind the pseudonym, it's not worth it anymore because there's nothing to gain and bitcoin has been doing fine even without the knowledge of who is it's creator.

BIG WINNER!

Garzik has a long history with Bitcoin. I think he got a little disuaded to be a public figure for bitcoin after the block size wars because he was for bigger blocks and as a result received quite a bit of vitriolic feedback.

To this day his analysis of the block size issue remains relevant. Most of the supposed constraints (i.e. bandwidth, Chinese government internet filtering etc.) no longer remain relevant.
The idea that was prevalent at the time was side-chains and later lightning and well, we're seeing how well that's going.

In any case, Jeff is certainly not Satoshi. If he had wanted to excerpt influence over bitcoin instead of being called a traitor (while he was actually one of the biggest contributors) he could have simply moved some Satoshi coins. But most certainly he's not. He still works to projects adjacent to BTC from what I can gather, but certainly he's not interested being a public figure with a loud voice in the space. I'd say leave him alone if he so wishes.

Please stop searching for Satoshi, I don't know why people want to know Satoshi's real identity? Satoshi is happy being anonymous and hiding from the public eye and he will never be happy if his real identity is revealed.

We have said it many times and many members have said it too, Satoshi remaining anonymous is a thousand times better for Bitcoin than him being exposed, don't spoil the beauty of Bitcoin's legend with these meaningless researches that harm Satoshi as much as they harm Bitcoin.

Mostly these studies are to get hype around them, and they keep achieving this role, as HBO film sparked a bit of debate and laughs by the community Grin
However, I agree that it won't lead anywhere in the end. It's better how it is now, then to even know who Satoshi is.

Still wondering....

The system "Bitcoin" is tested and trusted, base on the way it works. seeing this kind of post discussed over and over again, shows how serious people are busy trying to uncover the mystery behind Satoshi and Bitcoin creation.
Since 2009 down here is a decade plus, and quite a number of years for things to change /happen though,
Who knows if the creator/creators of Bitcoin in the name of Satoshi are still a live? I hope he is still alive, and seeing his good job.

Having Satoshi remained anonymous up till now, is quite fine so far everything is working pretty well.
Satoshi designed Bitcoin in such a way that we don't even need him for the system to function, and the evidence is there and still counting.

Satoshi Identity revealed or not Bitcoin lives.

Yep, I don't think that even if we got the answer to who he is, it wouldn't change much. He would be bombarded with different accusations eventually or with offers to make an interview, etc, who would want that for themselves? Grin
I do hope things will stay how they are.

Here we go again. The endless curiosity regarding the identity of Satoshi himself is quite interesting to perceive. This particular mystery should be added to the Guinness Book of World Records in my opinion.

Anyway, I feel that Satoshi doesn't just refer to a single person, but a group of people whose identities will always stay anonymous. Why? Watch Mr.Robot to understand why.

They are just playing around guessing about the identity of real Satoshi, but I guess those people speculate that cannot find the traces of the real Satoshi Nakamoto.

Since if he really want to give a hint regarding on his existence then maybe there's some reliable entities already figure out who he/she is at the moment. But I guess the real Satoshi is so smart to hide his tracks that's why right now he remain unknown. Bitcoin is really great the way it is and provably that Satoshi identity revelation if this is possible cannot really change anything on its current situation.

Bitcoin is great the way it is, and the identity of Satoshi wouldn't change that.
Sure, there would be a rumble for a day or two, but then things would get back to normal.

Satoshi hid his identity for a reason, he probably anticipated that if Bitcoin managed to become widely famous, the creator could get in trouble because it promotes freedom and decentralization, and the world, especially those controlling countries and economies, wouldn't like that. So he was pretty smart to not make himself public to avoid problems, but people these days don't get it. Even though it is not going to happen, if someone is proven to be Satoshi, it can be life-threatening for them.

So it's not only about the rumble, we know the dust will eventually sit and things will come back on track after some time, but the person will have to face serious problems. I wonder why people like Craig are dying to be proven Satoshi, I know they do it for fame and popularity, but it isn't worth it. If you want fame, do something unique and you will get it, what's the point in trying to be someone else.

Another problem here is getting to a point where we are going to see some trouble if we keep digging because not only we will not find, but also if we somehow find, we are not going to like what we get.

There isn't a point on trying to figure out who satoshi is, if he wanted to stay hidden then we should respect his decision, plus bitcoin is decentralized so there is no benefit of getting him, not like he is going to make it better (or worse) so there is no point on knowing who he is aside from the people who find him end up with some more money if they know what the yare doing. This is why we should try to avoid, and not give these people any credit for what they are doing, they should be staying away from this.

Bitcoin is great the way it is, and the identity of Satoshi wouldn't change that.
Sure, there would be a rumble for a day or two, but then things would get back to normal.

Plus he was playing with information, putting them or not including them in the Bitcoin white paper as an example, that he probably knew that observers will be using to find clues about his real identity. Because he didn't mention/cite Nick Szabo and BitGold in the white paper, many people started to put Szabo first in the list of people that might be Satoshi. The reverse initials might not be a coincidence either.

Nick Szabo had a completely different model in mind. If he would create Bitcoin, then you wouldn't have Script. You would have "DLL-like files", loaded by nodes, and executed directly.

Quote
The main problem with all these schemes is that proof of work schemes depend on computer architecture, not just an abstract mathematics based on an abstract "compute cycle." (I wrote about this obscurely several years ago.) Thus, it might be possible to be a very low cost producer (by several orders of magnitude) and swamp the market with bit gold. However, since bit gold is timestamped, the time created as well as the mathematical difficulty of the work can be automatically proven. From this, it can usually be inferred what the cost of producing during that time period was.
https://unenumerated.blogspot.com/2005/12/bit-gold.html

Quote
Since this is at least very tedious, one hopes we can in practice get away with a short list which covers all plausibly implemented machine architectures. This might work where for example the total exposure from cracking a protocol is less than the R&D; costs of designing and building a novel machine architecture to defeat it. Cryptanalyis would include discovering the machine architectures optimal for breaking an intrapolynomial cipher.

One practical implication of the above analysis: it doesn't make sense to talk about the cryptanalysis or the cost of computation of hashcash, MicroMint, bit gold, etc. without reference to machine architectures.
https://web.archive.org/web/20011217091748/http://szabo.best.vwh.net/intrapoly.html

See? And then, ask yourself a question: is the current Script architecture-specific? Of course it is not. You can implement it under x86, or under M1. You can use some ARM or AVR. It doesn't matter. But in Nick Szabo's model, it would actually matter, because he was so focused, to create an architecture-specific design, because he thought, that Proof of Work can be measured only in a specific environment. So, it means, that instead of Script, you would have just some kind of wrapped machine code, so if the whole thing would be somehow "portable", then we would end up with "JVM-like model", and not the interpreter, which we have today.

I do almost believe with that HBO documentary about Ssassman to be the real Satoshi on which there are really some coincides when it comes to some matters but its not actually still enough that this do really proves out that he's Satoshi. We've been seen tons of people who do get involved about being Satoshi but all of them failed up or really just that turned or looks like that they are really that trolling.

It would really be that understandable that they will really be having non stop on trying out to look for Satoshi as we do know on how great the thing he had invented or created.
If Bitcoin is fully decentralized and pseudonymous then you coudl really be able to expect that its owner would really be just that the same. People would be normally be finding out on whose the creator
or who invented. WE do know on how revolutionary this thing is and thats why we cant be able to blame out people on why they are really that continuing out such quest.

It is really just that too shit that there are those individuals who are self proclaimed but still ending up on being a clown.  Grin

oh so we're back with the guessing-who-satoshi-is thing again eh. ya'll should seriously stop lol
Haha, maybe he got inspired by the series released by HBO, where they claimed to expose who is Satoshi is and a few days back almost every news outlet shared it and there was some great hype too I did not watched the series but after reading some articles they said Peter Tod might be the real Satoshi haha.

The real identity of Satoshi Nakamoto remains a mystery. I am sure a large number of the community members do not want Satoshi to be revealing his/her real identity for good. Let's respect that!
I can't agree more with you on this, as I am one of those people who want him to remain hidden and I don't want him to be out in public, although even if he did then I don't care because now I think no one can do any harm to him, but all I wish now is he never moves the 1.1 million BTC he has for selling. Because this can make market dump for temporarily.

It's funny, if you expect replies to this topic to be like "wow.... Or are you serious?? Or I did had a gut feeling about that guy.
Knowing who the developers or developer of Bitcoin is doesn't do more good than harm.

And i believe it's going to remain a mystery forever because even if Satoshi reveals himself today, apart from the community members some core bitcoiners will be very angry with him because a lot of things will be uncovered and probably the government will also hunt him down so it will really affect bitcoin and the adoption process. If Satoshi has plans of revealing himself someday he would not have said he has moved on to other things so let's just stop expecting a revelation of him any day and focus more on how the purpose for his invention can become a reality.
