Can religious dogma's actually win the fight against gambling?

Gambling is never to be blamed when a person falls into addiction, but rather the inability of a person to have self control over his/herself is what to be blamed when such an individual falls into gambling addiction. Because most times, what makes people fall into gambling addiction is desperation over the need for money, while seeing gambling as the online source of income. Which is why if they gamble and don't win, they tend to gamble irresponsibly with the mindset of getting lucky, which doesn't always go as planned.

Super true. Apart from gambling, there are other activities people get addicted to and yet they dont blame it on the activity but rather on the person. When it falls to gambling it then becomes a different case. Addiction cannot be stopped by gambling or any other activities. Individuals should be blamed when they get addicted. The problem is that the idea of Gambling in the social world is bad nothing would change it even in years to come. It's a delusion so people see those who gamble as bad people, demonic, thugs, and bandits. Just do your research and you will understand what am saying.

Depending on your religion, I'd say religion and gambling do not mix. What those people did in the region was force close but is that going to be effective against gambling and gambling addiction? It is not. Most gambling is done online. Will they prevent the residents in their community from having a cess to online casinos. No. Therefore it is not going to effective.

You fall into gambling addiction when you don't gamble responsibly. Gambling responsibly is sticking to your plan. And we all know those plans. Gambling addiction doesn't just happen they are a build poor gambling choices and practices.

Days ago a religious corps in the northern part of Nigeria which is mostly a Muslim dominated part of the country, during the week had to enforce a shutdown of betting shops in their communities sighting various complains from people about how their wards and children are getting rather too addicted to gambling. Base on this I was contemplating with a few questions in mind which I couldn't really answer myself. Questions such as:

Indeed this is really the fault of a person who committed the actions of gambling addiction, but that's their personal prerogatives to deal with this kind of thing. Religious dogmas and other potential bodies that wanted to control and fight gambling at worst has nothing to do of preventing this people to become prey of gambling. Even though you've bee there seeing something was change but the truth prevails how this bad influence got exaggerated from time to time.

France during the Thirty Years' War was a very religious country. The main religion there was Christianity (Catholicism).

However, the French were constantly gambling (dice). I really enjoy reading and rereading the novels by Alexandre Dumas "The Three Musketeers", "Twenty Years After" and "The Vicomte de Bragelonne". At the same time, I always noticed that the heroes of these novels (the musketeers and the cardinal's guards) were constantly playing dice.

The sincere religiosity of these people did not prevent them from gambling. People in general tend to indulge their inclination to have fun and enjoy it.

I disagree. Religion can restrict people from doing a lot of things they would otherwise enjoy doing, gambling being one of them. The Christian community is not as rigid about their beliefs and doctrines like other religions are. Maybe it’s because of the teachings of grace and forgiveness that makes Christians feel like they can act contrary to their faith and still be able to call themselves Christ-like. There’s also the debate that gambling is not declared as a sin in the Bible and as such Christians are allowed to gamble.

Gambling from time immemorial has been given a negative social construct by the society and almost everyone has accepted it that way without questioning or doing their own research and findings about how could such an activity entirely be of evil or negative impact only. But the truth remains that those of us that have taken a bold step into the enterprise has gotten a groundbreaking understanding that gambling is a product of what the individual as a gambler makes of it. How you go about it would determine what and how it affects your life. That's why gamblers are encouraged to shun greed and not seeing gambling as a means of making income because these are the antecedents among many ways that could lead to compulsive additive gambling life which now gives gambling a negative name. It's like taking medical pills in overdose and later blaming the doctor and the meds for whatever later happens to you than accept your fault.

Dogmas can never get rid of anything completely, because free will of each individuals will be always the determining force to drive human behavior. Dogmas can forbid people from doing certain things, such as gambling, but gamblers will always find a gap on the system to continue gambling, despite it being forbidden.

Religious dogmas are similar to regulations imposed by authorities. Both are human creations and imposed to everyone to follow. Those who refuse following, end being punished somehow. And as we know, regulations also don't cease gambling activity anywhere. The same is valid for dogmas. People prefer to risk being punished than to stop doing something they enjoy.

It depends though, religious dogma can work maybe in a region whereby 85% of the people over there are practicing the same religion, which there religion is not even in support of their worshipers to gamble, because even the government are even not in support of gambling because of what they have been thought longtime again. In a region where the people are from different religion it will be very difficult to put an end to gambling. I think the majority of people from this religion are Islam that is why religious dogma can win the fight .

Reasons mentioned above is understandable, gambling addiction for youths is so wrong and needs more care or proper attention. Generalizing the fact gamblers no longer gamble for fun rather they go for what’s more beneficial    is obvious. I still don’t get why some belief create war against gambling besides they might get another alternatives so instead of creating a war it’s best they address the people concerning gambling addiction.
People get addicted when creating excess time for gambling in essence gambling addiction can happen unexpected when putting everything makes things look worse. We can’t blame gambling platform besides gambling will always stand regardless the religious rules against gambling because people will always go extra miles to place a bet.
