Well I like to bargain before making purchases instead of having to waste time and compare prices. If it’s a bargain deal it’s a deal you can’t beat so why sit there contemplate and trying to do math when you know you’re already gonna get a steel on savings and product.
I consider myself a bargain hunter especially when I get coupons in the mail to shop in store or online. I will wait to make a purchase for the coupons to come in my mail box.

In most cases, comparing the same products and the prices in different shops is good. Like in the country where I am from, there's a lot of fake products and they look like the real (original) products, with the same designs and you might be confused when you see the both of them. The only way you could differentiate between fake and the original products is unless the person that produced the fake products didn't package it in well.

If you're trying to buy the original products, you will not able to bargain the price because they're sold with the price tags.

These fake products are damn cheap because the equality is very different than the original one, however I don't like to buy fake products, instead I'd choose to buy local products that original and it's cheaper than the global brand.

This may be a little monotonous but in the end it's probably just me who always wants to keep it simple without having to search for a long time especially since bargaining for now is synonymous with women Not that I want to say that those who bargain are women, I don't mean it that way but most men make purchases they just look at the product, see the price that is appropriate and buy nothing more than that.

It's completely wrong if you think bargaining is synonymous with women, top tier men e.g. businessmen or working as a head/managerial need to have good bargaining skill otherwise you can't negotiate and make a deal with your clients.

I have always compared prices from other sellers before purchasing because some sellers are greedy. They will want to make much profit from their goods without considering the customer. Some sellers are considerate and sell goods with empathy.

Normally rich folks buy based on the quality and not the price. Others also pay for it because they need the goods, not because of the cost. Some people pay without bargaining because they want to show that they are wealthy. Maybe they want to gain the respect and admiration of people around them. But for me, regardless of the amount I have, I will always bargain for the best price except in shops where the prices of goods are fixed.

This is not entirely true, people who do not bargain with sellers are usually just immature children, provided for by their parents and do not know the value of money or it's not their money. On the contrary, rich people understand the value of money very well and they will not waste money foolishly.

Rich people in my country, they are willing to spend on expensive, luxurious things but in return the quality needs to be commensurate with the money they spend. They will also bargain, haggle and compare prices for the same items like everyone else, the only difference between rich and poor when they go to the market is the choice of cheap and expensive products.

There is a specific reason why someone bargains or compares the prices of the products they want to buy, and I think it's not about economic status, because I've seen someone who is quite rich compare prices when they want to buy an item. So maybe it goes back to the individual, there are indeed people who are more specific about the price when they want to buy an item, but there are also those who don't care about the price and buy it straight away because they think it's just a waste of time and they can afford it.

Yes, individual preference can be a factor. Bargaining price on a product or service, depends on certain factors. For me, financial status, two is your location or the location of the store, three the type of store you entered and lastly your personality.


There are some locations you go to and you know everything is just expensive. It's just like going to a vacation setting, maybe like a tourist area where tourists come all the time. And there are certain prices for things there that you can't just bargain or negotiate. Then supermarkets, they have price tags and you can't remove the price tag and start bargaining. You're picking to pay with that price; no bargaining.

Your financial status, your pocket, tells you, "I can afford things in the supermarket or not." You just go there, buy, and go. But when you're on a budget, you just go to the local market where you can bargain prices of things with people. Actually, local markets allow bargaining.

Then your personality - some people, whether rich or comfortable or not so rich, they always bargain. They always have this thing of bargaining. Some people, rich or not, don't like bargaining. Once you tell them the price, if they can afford it they pay if not they just move away and try somewhere else.

Some people live for bargaining; they'll price at the first store, go to the next store, bargain, go to the next store, bargain, and then make up their mind which store they'll buy from. So, it all depends. To me, I bargain when I can, and when things look like they're hard for the seller, I just try not to bargain too much.

Bargaining or comparing is something that is definitely done by the majority of people who shop, I myself, if I buy goods directly with a face-to-face meeting, I usually bargain and in my opinion this is a natural thing, especially for most housewives who shop in traditional markets, they will most likely bargain or even compare prices from one store to another. However, sometimes I don't do this, instead what I do is give it a higher price than what has been set, this happens when I have enough money or maybe more. 
These two things have become a tradition that has been passed down from generation to generation in my opinion, in fact I think this is not only done by people in my country, but I think people do it in other countries too.

In reality, things are meant to be priced based on one budget and the worth of the goods. Each product made has a price tag that is supposed to be their selling price. If the seller is selling the given product above the expectations of the buyer on what they bargained for, the seller should expect the buyer to price the given product at a low price because that's what they visualize the given product to be worth and that's what they can give in for the product.

However, the prices of products differ from one location to another. A product sold in a particular location can differ in price(higher or lower) in other locations. But it doesn't stop people from pricing the product they want to buy, to know whether they can willingly pay for it without it affecting their daily or weekly budgets

Where I live, the cost of living is on the high side. The price you find a product to be this week, you can find it to be at a high price tomorrow. All the price increases are caused by the government. You don't expect a seller who pays heavily for the transportation of their products to their shops or supermarkets to sell their products at a minimum price, instead of, a high price

It differs per person. Sometimes, it's not really about people that are able to pay what's being asked are thinking that it's a waste of time. But, they're probably also were once in that point of their lives that they're just trying to make some profit.

And with that, they are not negotiating anymore. Because they understand the hustle that these people are doing, as long as it's not that far and huge mark up, it's fine not to negotiate.

In my opinion, comparing prices and offers before buying is very important, because this method can help us get the best price and also benefit both parties.

I haven't been to a place that I can negotiate the price for a long long time to be fair. Most places turned into either e-commerce you buy online, or supermarkets where you buy groceries and such, there aren't any places where I can bargain for prices anymore, I feel like that was the old times and not anymore.

I understand for certain shops that sell certain items may still have this, but this doesn't mean we are going to end up with anything powerful at all, we spend 90%+ of our life without bargaining with anyone. I don't mind it too, I buy whatever I buy online or at the market and come home, if I can't bargain then so be it, nothing like that interests me anyways, doesn't really feel like it makes sense, I am happy with either buying or if I find it expensive then not buying.

for this current economy many people care about the price of things because I know very well that things are getting harder every time and that is why you receive people price things in such a way that there will be okay with it so I've seen many persons who mentioned that them price to the extent that the price will be comfortable to them before them purchase anything didn't feel like to purchase and the reason why they are doing that is of their own benefit not because they love to price things but because of the amount of minimize the money they have so that it will come get them another thing but the basically which people does not price that way the price in such a way that things will be okay with them and they don't like to make a serious bargain to them I don't know what they feel that makes them know to like bargain as much as average person may like to bargain

As a man who already has a partner I just let my partner do it but i personally rarely do it because in my opinion when there is a product that is deemed suitable at the price then why compare with other stores or places because it takes more time so instead of wasting my time looking for the same product elsewhere i prefer to do it directly by buying when the price is already in accordance with the market price.

I agree with you in this one mate, I just let her to that job of comparing prices and where is the best place to buy this things. Although sometimes our arguments goes to whether to go to supermarket or a wet or dirty market here.

Cause if you compare the price, yeah some is lower, but there are items too in a place that is higher on others so you have to go there? For me it doesn't make sense at all, the difference is not that big so just go on one place and buy everything. No need to compare as it just add up to the cost and if you average it in the long run, it could be the same. I know that you can't bargain in a supermarket, but there are items that has more quality as compare to a wet market, in my opinion.

Because in the end, there are only two choices, which are whether we want to waste our time or pay for what is already there but there is a possibility that it could be more expensive or cheaper elsewhere. And I prefer to choose the second option by paying for the item that already exists but there may be some possibility that there is the same product or the same item at a cheaper price but I don't lose my time looking for that uncertain product because it is not uncommon when we for example follow our partner to shop and look for the same item just for price comparison in the end we will return to the first place and buy there which makes apart from wasted time, we also do things that really don't have to be done.

In my country, there's a proverb that money stops nonsense, which means that some wealthy people do not care about the price of items before purchasing them because they know what they're getting is worth the money they spend on them. To be honest, many people believe that only the poor can bargain the price before purchasing a product because some people can bargain so hard that they irritate the seller.

However, I dislike speaking a lot if I know the price of the item is worth it. Moreover, I don't like to bargain because, considering the difficult economy and the fact that many individuals are suffering, the sellers might not make a huge profit on the goods they sell, so I believe that every consumer needs to consider that. But if I realize that the seller increases the price of the item, such as x3 of what others are selling it for, I can bargain well and tell them to know this is not my first time coming there to get something like this because some sellers are very arrogant, overprice their products, perhaps hoping to get rich fast.

Personally I think the rate of inflation has affected the price of goods and services and in some cases the retailers takes the advantages of the final consumers by adding some outrageous amounts to the price of the things they sell so when ever I'm in need of any item, some times I make use of my cell phone to check the price of the item online before stepping out to buy. Mind you, I do not do this on all the things I buy rather I compare the price of things that the amount is not well known to me but for the items that are not expensive, I can easily visit a supermarket where the price tag is placed on the item so that I wouldn't bargain with anyone before buying.

A lot of people compare prices before buying things because in some areas in my country, the price of things are sold according to the amount of shop rent in the area, you can get an item for 1k in some place and buy it for 1.1k or 1.2k and so on depending on the area you went.

Personally I don't see any problem with a man bargaining with a seller because sometimes there are sellers who are too greedy and spending money like that is a waste. But like you, I don't like to haggle when shopping for my wife, instead, I stay away from those stores and will never go back again.

Sometimes I find bargaining a waste of time because it's not that significant but just for everyday essentials. But if it is a high-value product, it will be completely different, if the price is too high compared to the general level, I will ask to work directly with the manager or find a store with a better price. In my opinion, bargaining will depend on the value of the product as well as the quality of the product and there is nothing shameful in bargaining even when a man is going to the market.
