We something similar happen recently with Twitter being blocked and it seems like the government of Brazil overplays it's hand quite often. It think's it has the power of the United States who can subtly force companies to bend to it's will without directly saying it, but many companies would rather leave than conform to onerous requirements or giving up the privacy of their players so the government could access things like tax information. They have recently been using the courts to impose censorship on sites that disagree with their rulings, which are often dictated to judges rather than being thought up independently by the legal system. They will probably reverse course or we may see further crackdowns on other sites too.

Well, it is something one could have expected to happen eventually, keeping in mind all the new regulation the government of Brazil is putting in place for them to be able to further tax gamblers (who get lucky enough to have wins). I am also certain this is going to be a temporary thing and this casino and others will get back online once they manage to contact Brazilians regulators and get licensed.
Also, this does not have anything to do explicitly with the left or the right movements in your country, this could have perfectly happened with either Lula or Bolsonaro in power, because we are talking about tightening gambling regulations and those casinos that do no initially comply are to be put down off Brazilian internet.
Now... It would be a completely different debate whether it is okey to tax money from gambling or not, so far Brazil seems to be determined to do so, one can only hope those funds are well managed and do not fall into corrupted hands.

I believe the Government is trying every way possible to tap into the revenue those platforms are making by forcing them to register and comply with their regulations, which turn out to be unfair most of the time. This is always how the whole bullshit starts, at least according to what I have seen in the past

Most of the platform will obviously not agree and just would rather stop operating in a certain jurisdiction until the conditions become favourable or softer.

Like I've learnt, Bc.game wasn't the only online gambling casino that was banned in Brazil, the Brazilian government banned over 2000 online gambling casino, and the cause for this might be as a result of the government's fight against unlicensed companies providing services to the citizens of Brazil, where as this companies are making money from Brazil, but are not paying any form of tax to the Brazilian government.

According to what I know, the government of Brazil has not banned gambling in the country, they only banned gambling casinos, which simply means that any of this affected casinos that still want to have a market in Brazil can easily approach the country's licensing office, from where they can obtain a license that can allow them operate in Brazil as a tax paying and regulated service.

Banning of online casinos can't be a temporary move to my mind because for any party, it's more beneficial to say no to casinos than to give them a green light, especially when they are already banned. Imagine you are a party and want votes, you'll gain lots of votes if you stay populist but if you come up with an idea that the society doesn't like, then you'll lose lots of votes.

Internet service that are unlicensed is their major target, and if any other country will join in this same movement, I believe it's going to be based on this same goal, except for countries that may outrightly declare that a certain type of service is completely banned in the country.

But considering you live in a country where you have freedom of speech and people can talk about everything, I don't think the Government will block websites without any valid reason. If they do not have any valid reason, you can always expect to get it unblocked. All I expect is crypto casinos aren't illegal there, right?

But in my country, crypto is illegal, and so is gambling. When the Government blocks a domain, I do not bother much and use another mirror domain if available. Sometimes, I try a VPN as well, and it works. But before I login to my account, I ask the casino support if it is okay to use a VPN. In your case, it seems they requested that you not use a VPN.

Based on government reports, 70% of people who enjoy some welfare package in the form of financial assistance spend it on gambling. So one can assume that the government is fighting gambling addiction. I don't know how the government got the statistics but from my view, the design and implementation of "Bolsa Familia" are faulty. I don't think this welfare support is going to the targeted less privileged. Or people may be receiving multiple payments. A poor man wouldn't use the funds that he needs to provide his basic needs for gambling except he is an addict.

So instead of attacking the gambling industry, the government should probe the welfare scheme and also tackle gambling addiction through public awareness and education. Unfortunate, but from what I looked up it sounds like its temporary? Seems like Brazil is setting up some sort of infrastructure for handling casinos online. That, or they just started managing it again for some reason and sadly, BC game wasn't there. Looks like they're doing all they can to get themselves authorized so I don't think it's going to be permanent. Unless ofc the government does its usual government things and at that point can't blame anyone but them really. Hopefully, it's not permanent.
