I get it when I see someone from the staff of this forum like yourself expresses that we should keep opening threads in the speculation section to talk about doing push-ups at home. Not to mention the amounts of 150/200k pushups. (crossed out due to conversation by PM)

but I'm danm serious, we're not kids and everyone knows those activities doesn't affect BTC price in anyway - just fun.

You haven't read this thread where there are people expressing that there is an effect or relationship between pushups and price.

Back in the days I used to go straight set 50-60 and 160-200 total push-ups at home before going to the gym for light weights ( still have my videos somewhere on the Internet) but it's best to always skip a day or two to rest the muscles. Today I can't even go more than 20/set - became friend to burger and pizza.  

I have put in bold the things I agree with, which are common knowledge and which I have repeated ad nauseam. Doing 100 push-ups is very limited (you only burn about 40 calories, you only work one body part, you don't increase the workload, and you don't do cardio). If you're going to do them because you have a sedentary lifestyle you'd better take it as a start to improve your overall health and then move on to full body training, more intensity and cardio (walking being the easiest, cheapest and most accessible to everyone).

The issue here is that the people who participate in that thread don't want it to be moved to off topic because they wear paid signatures and in off topic they wouldn't get paid for what they write there, starting with the liar OP, who says he doesn't care but if he didn't care he wouldn't have created it in that section in the first place, or at least he would have moved it afterwards.

Further to the investigations in another thread, I have seen that there are two alts who happen to report in the push ups thread.

One is AirtelBuzz, who coincidentally joined the challenge and reported doing exactly 10 sessions of 100 push-ups, and the other is cryptoWODL who since joining reports having done an average of about 130.

That thread is a mockery of this forum where not even 10% of the people who post on it are doing the push-ups and all this talk of changing the world and driving up the price would be over in a moment if the thread was where it needs to be.

As much as there is a possibility that people might lie about their reports, there is no proof to back the statement you are making that they are not actually doing them.

Also, when we talk about speculation, the meaning of the word speculation is to make guesses about something that might happen in the future or to form opinions about something that might or might not happen in the future. In that thread, people do talk about the price, even if it's not done in every single post.

If I say, "Bitcoin might reach $110k by the end of this year." it basically means I'm speculating about Bitcoin, so if a thread is basically based on the price of Bitcoin itself that might happen or have happened already, it does have to do with speculation even if every single post in it isn't specifically about the price.

I propose someone starts the next mega meta thread to raise awareness: Do (5x) 10-second actions per day until Bitcointalk reaches [at least] 5 custom unbiased AI robots to replace mods.

That's right, you pick the action: walk in a circle, lift your hand for 10 seconds, kick your feet up for 10 seconds, pocket hockey, whatever you want.. post your report each time you do 1 action. Of course you'll need to occasionally rest to avoid the multi-posting rule, and possibly due to pocket hockey fatigue, but you'll still get paid for your personal diary entries!

Much fun, some talk about mods, all good stuff.

It applies on both sides equally. So, there is no hard evidence for anyone to claim the other one is lying/telling the truth. However, I have seen some members posting images of their bodies in that thread, claiming they have improved because of the challenge, but again, you never know whether something is real or not.

Don't you know nuttin @Don Pedro Dinero.  There is no proof of anything in the world, except for bitcoin, so pushups is an inferior proof of work, and no actual proof is needed, and it would be a waste of time and energies to go down a path of requiring proof in such circumstances.

That would not be the motivation for everyone in the thread, necessarily, and even if payment is made for posts, is that a forum issue or a signature campaign issue?  You really think that signature campaign managers cannot figure out their own compliance guidelines, or is it necessary to help them?  Maybe report their members to the signature campaign if you believe that they are getting paid when they shouldn't be.

We have learned that speculation comes in quite a variety of forms, and I doubt that your attempts at making a farting connection is either tasteful or something that any non-troll would really assert as a seriously and/or motivating topic, like how pushups have resonated with a lot of forum members and other folks in the bitcoin space, including beyond just this forum.

Maybe it is also nice for many members in this forum to have a thread to channel their abilities to physically participate in bitcoin and a part of bitcoin culture that is evolving before our very eyes.

Personally I have reported hundreds of posts that end up deleted, locked or moved to another section, usually off-topic, so it's not that easy, and that thread does make it easy for the multiaccounters I've seen in the thread, that if they have to make 20 posts a week, they already have 7 with the report of the supposed bending they do and commenting on some rubbish.

It's now obvious that the thread(100 Push-Ups A Day Until Bitcoin Is $100K Challenge) is no longer an off-topic in the speculation section because Bitcoin price has hit $100k,what you referred to off-time has come to pass.I can see you've changed the topic from the stupidest thread on Bitcointalk to an obviously off-thread in the speculation section whereas the topic isn't the stupidest or off-topic in the speculation section.
Speculation means hoping for an asset to increase in price in the future,so bitcoiners might decide to do 100 pushups a day to look physically fit as we hoping for a targeted price.Though the 100 pushups a day seemed impossible,but to those that have been doing their exercise regularly it was an easy task.The 100 pushups challenge was a hit, videos were posted on social media platform like YouTube and an active discussion was ongoing on bitcointalk,all these are considered as factors of speculation.

The thread seems to be sufficiently related to speculation, especially the community component, and thread seemed to have had been active for around 8 months prior to anyone complaining about it.. and.. even the complaints themselves seem quite borderline in terms of any justification to actually move the thread from its current location within speculation.

It does seem fairly obvious to be playing off of an idea that could not have had actually have had been said by satoshi.. and yeah, maybe a bit of a disclaimer could be put there in order to appease folks who believe that the message attribution could be misleading ... and who knows the extent that you might proclaim that the damage has already been done, or to proclaim putting a disclaimer there admits guilt... hahahahahaha.

I doubt that there is any downfall of the forum, and probably the strongest objection that I saw was that some members might be getting compensated for their signature campaigns within a topic that otherwise would not be compensated, which in the end seems a lame as fuck objection, since signature campaign managers could easily make a rule (if they don't already have one) to say that they are not going to pay for posts on that thread.. and ultimately I doubt that the signature campaign managers even feel as strongly about the placement of the thread as some OgNasty haters seem to be..

 .. and hey I am no kind of a OgNasty fan boi, either, since I find some of his attempts at self-promotion to be a bit distasteful..... but still in the end, it seems to me that OgNasty took that thread idea from pushup activities that were already happening in other bitcoin spaces and in other forums (and discussion places - and even podcasts) at the time, and even being discussed at various places on the forum, at least in the WO thread, and so Ognasty took the thread idea from an existing push-up phenomena that was happening in and around bitcoin, and sure the thread might have helped the pushup phenomena to spread even more within various bitcoin circles and to have further outreach for the idea (even if imitated)... and also DirtyKeyboard took it to another level with his daily pushup report reading script.. another kind of innovation that others might be able to copy or imitate.. and seemingly lucky for several of us who chose to directly participate in such....and lucky for you bitcoin HODLers too, since the BTC price might not have ever made it to $100k without such efforts.
