Hi. I received several emails from Stake regarding verification and receiving a $250 bonus for completing lvl 2 verification. I have been using the site for almost 4 years and I have invested a lot of time and energy into my account. Will I really lose access to my account if I don't verify by January?

The only reason I signed up in the first place was to protect my privacy and I have had a lot of good memories using Stake, it would be unfortunate if I am forced to leave in the New Year.

Exactly the point bud, stake kyc requirement is level 2 minimum, and level 2 kyc verification on stake does not require much, just a document ID, phone number and email address, i am not very sure but I think taking a photo while holding your ID card is not even needed for this level, I can't remember doing such when I got my account verified for level 2, I only remember filling a form that required my full name, country, ID number and that's it, on the next page, I uploaded the photo of my Id's front and back, and that was it, I got verified in about an hour after submitting this things.

It's absolutely stress free, and with the level of stake in the industry, I trust that they sure would have a great and secure system where they store their user's personal ID to avoid it being stolen seeing that they have been hacked ones before.

I can confirm. I have completed the submission of my documents for level 2 verification on Stake, and they did not require me to take any picture of me holding the documents or take a selfie in the same manner we would have expected from most exchange or banks.
I was rather a positive surprise level 2 verification does not need us to go beyond taking a picture of our personal iD and filling up some information. I even feel compelled to go for level 3 verification unfortunately I don't have a residence proof document at the moment.
Hopefully regulators won't push too hard in the years to come, since I could see many gamblers having a rough time if they were asked to submit a proof of funds to any device, many are from developing countries, after all.

Perks would really be given into those gamblers who do make out some KYC level 2 on 3 month period. So it does mean that this would really be that
an optional and not really that compulsory but well it will really be that up to someone whether they will really be that complying or not.

Not all accounts get a bonus offer to complete the KYC and not all accounts get $250 they have criteria such as game activities and VIP level, if your account level is bronze then the bonus is between $10- $50 yeah depending on your deposit/game activity or even you don't get any bonus offer but if your VIP level platinum1-4 the bonus is between $100-$250 and generally for this VIP level all will get a bonus offer. I think those who don't get a bonus offer will ignore the KYC because they can create an account anytime.

I still don't get why people don't want to go through any KYC verifications, are they that bad for you or there is something else we don't know? Online casinos won't care about how long you have been with them, it is like saying they should risk their business for a sincere platform user.

The kyc level 2 verification bonus on stake is not the same amount for all, I know a guy personally who got a $10 offer for his level 2 verification, he did it and got $10 bonus credited to his account, others got $20, $30 $40 and up to $250, I think $10 is the minimum while $250 is the maximum, and the amount a user gets depends solely on his or her contributions to the stake casino..

You don't expect stake to start giving such bonus to accounts that hasnt been active for more than 6 months to a year or more, when stake can easily assume that such user have abandoned the account, and if given such a bonus, the user might comply with the kyc, get the bonus, withdraw it and then abandon the account again..

Maybe they are expecting to much that everyone will do that thing would make them eligible to $250 bonus. But some of them got disappointed because they didn't get something. I can confirm this! Also $250 for completing KYC Level 2 is crazy.
I did get an e-mail this summer I think it was in August like "Complete Level 2 KYC sooner than 14 days and get $25 free"
So I completed KYC 2 at Stake this summer and I got the $25 which I was happy with.
