I have also not gone up to that extent of losing so much in gambling, and that's because I never take gambling too seriously. Those who take gambling very seriously are likely to lose a significant amount, which will result in them seeking help because some of them lose their control over trying to recover what has already been lost. 
 
And yes, those who carry on making a profit from gambling as their top priority to gambling are likely to get addicted even before realising it since they are blinded by what they will get rather than protecting themselves.

😁 LOL, this is a very thoughtful comment, and very correct, loses due to gambling should be easily overcomed, this is if the money lost is an amount that the gambler consider tangible. But if not, then "ignore" is the right word to use, if and when a gambler have gotten to the stage or level where it takes him or her days and maybe not exactly the processes mentioned by the op, but takes the gambler some processes to overcome to loss, then it simply means that such gambler have not being; and is not practising healthy gambling.

I do agree with this suggestion. Taking breaks on both losing and winning just to summarize what happened. Taking a step back will also make us calm again and that's when we can think clearly about what to do next. Honestly, I am one who didn't follow this kind of rule for myself back in the day, I always end up getting greedy when I see a high multiplier coming out. Wanting more will be there and that's why we need to take that rest even though if it's just for an hour or two. It will clear our mind while we savor that winning moment and we can feel better thinking we won against the house.

It's better to just step away from the game itself for a few days and see how it goes. I know that feeling though, last week I lost some big money, for two straight days, and whenever I played after that, I still take a big L.
