These results motivate you and check whether you are going in the right direction. I want to give you an example, young man, you are a student, your annual final is an exam, in the results of that exam, one of your two friends have done good results or what happened in his previous life, no one will see them, everyone will say that he did well, he has improved. On the other hand, when you visit a friend who does not get the expected results, everyone will look at him differently: he could not do anything good, he could not improve, etc. From here, it is understood that the world plans the next steps based on the results.

You have to do something to improve the results so that people do not think negatively after seeing them. They can think of good things; they can think about how you are improving. You have to pay attention to this.

I think we should consider that it has something to do with our society as well. These days you can’t survive without money. People get hungry and people get desperate. I am not justifying illegal acts but I also try to be understanding of how and why they ended up in that situation.

But I am not in the category of people who will work any kind of job because I want to live a luxurious life. My focus in life is to earn enough to settle my basic needs and have extra to invest. Life is too short to be wasted on a rat race. A job with high pay without the privilege to relax and spend time with friends and family, will not bring fulfillment. Maybe I might consider doing the job for sometime so that I can raise for a business or investment. But spending my entire life working like a bee is not in my plan.

Income motivates and highly income motivates absolutely. If you want to see people put in the work increase their pay while giving them a non-toxic work environment. I don't care if the pay is very high most a lot of people will leave a toxic work environemnt for a non-toxic work environment and accept to receive lower wages. I work in a low paying job but I don't care because I have been able to find a reason for why I am working there and what I want out of that organization. I have also been able to find a side hustle. The job is flexible that I can easily juggle two jobs and my productivity is not affected. My mental health is also not affected. This is where receiving low pay doesn't hurt so long as there is a personal motivation for you, like to gain a particular skill to move up the work ladder and other whatever it is.

If there are two jobs vacation open, the first one is software engineer that pays $1K/month and the second one is toilet cleaner that pays $20K/month. I will choose to be a toilet cleaner without thinking twice.

To an extent you are right with your narrative about the fact that people want to see numbers before they can be motivated to do a particular job, but one thing you must understand is the fact that this particular situation does not apply to all cases, most people request for a higher number of pay because of the demand or the nature of the job, in some cases most employers of labor want to pay less because there is high demand for jobs, meanwhile that job is supposed to be a much higher paid job, so most person's will just relax and wait to get that same job but pays higher. However this does not stop the fact that there are lots of people who don't go for numbers, they just want a salary that can foot their bills and basic needs.

Money is important but it’s not always the basis of a person or individual. If that money comes with high risk that may put your life into danger, then I would chose to decline that job for my own peace, my emotional and mental health security. That's a nice story, but the reality is people accept minimum wage jobs because they need to live and exist. If you have rent or a mortgage to pay, you accept whatever jobs are available in order to keep a roof over your head, because the alternative is becoming homeless. You seem to refer to homelessness rather flippantly and I doubt you have faced anything even close to that position, but when you fall into it - you end up in a devastating situation that is a hundred times harder to climb out. People accept "small money" because their available options are often limited. Picking random numbers and cities out of the air does not make you sound intelligent or add weight to your arguments.

The liberal ideology you explain is not new, but if you look further you'll understand that in terms of spending power it is almost the same to get higher salaries while having to pay for different services (private schools, healthcare,...) than getting paid less but having these services for free thanks to the taxes your employer paid.

In Spain, where I live, we have low salaries compared to the USA, for example, but we don't take expensive loans to study in Universities and we are not worried about losing our jobs and not being able to pay health insurance.

In the end, IMO, the only ones who benefit from the ideology you defend are the businessmen, not the citizens.

I think saying "small money" jobs are the sole cause of burnout is oversimplification. Burnout can be caused by many reasons, low salary, poor work environment, or even overload work. At least where I live now, the employment rate is recovering, even though I admit that 2024 is one of the worst year for unemployment.  When job creation come back strong, people will have more choices in the labor market. The more job option can help workers find better opportunities without having to rely solely on stressful and unfair job.

Instead of just cutting taxes for companies, governments can also improve labor condition in many aspects, ensure better benefit and career growth paths by creating fair laws for workers, and also considering inflation when deciding the minimum wage, so workers can keep up with the increasing living cost.  I think government should be able create a balance where both worker and business can thrive

Even though I had to skim through the entire write up due to it's length, I was still able to grab the message and understand it. IMO, you aren't far from the truth. Numbers of course have a way of motivating people to do something, even though it might sometimes take them years to accomplish it. And, people that are easily motivated are those that sometimes aren't opportuned, or doesn't get that opportunity all the time to perform such task that will bring them that massive amount.

But, the truth here is this, in as much as numbers can be very motivating, I think it only motivates to some extent. Here is why. Someone can be motivated to perform a task today inorder to earn an interesting amount, but will end up losing interest with time because the passion to carry out that task wasn't there in the first place, but was only triggered by those figures. That's why people sometimes quite their jobs for another easily because the passion was never there in the first place, because they where initially chasing after the bags. Let's just see the numbers as a temporary motivation to doing things instead.
