- buy as much as possible and convince allies to buy as much as possible.

Where did you get that from, Lucius? It is not very smart to convince your allies from a business point of view, here what matters is to buy as soon as possible and be the first to accumulate a lot.

- put as many mining farms as possible under control and legally oblige them to filter all transactions.
- seize as much BTC as possible on all possible grounds.

This administration will reduce regulations and taxes, and businesses in general, including mining farms, will be allowed to compete freely.

- discourage people from using BTC as a currency or even make it illegal.

Again. Where did you get that from, Lucius? It seems to me that your hatred of Trump makes you make things up.

Wanna bet they don't make it illegal?

Everything you are saying was much more likely under the previous administration than this one.

You probably think I read that somewhere (or at least it seems so from your question), but I'm just thinking out loud about a possible scenario that could happen if central banks get involved in the BTC story. The US has close allies who jump at their every move, so if they (US) will invest (in one way or another) then others will probably follow their example.

- put as many mining farms as possible under control and legally oblige them to filter all transactions.

This may be the biggest news of all for the Bitcoin market. US President Donald Trump has adopted Bitcoin
Come on, tell us more about this. How did Trump accept this? Sign the corresponding law?

because before Donald Trump won the election, the price of Bitcoin started to increase at a rocket speed and still the price of Bitcoin continues to increase.
It is not Trump's merit that the price started to grow. The price growth was influenced by investors with their money. What prevented them all from believing in the bright future of bitcoin even earlier?

Trump told CNBC in an interview that they are going to do great things with crypto because they don't want China or anyone else.
I don't know what to think about this phrase, whether to be happy or wary.

Every major country now wants to make bitcoin its property. If there were technical possibilities for this, bitcoin would have already been nationalized. Smiley

The world's developed countries want to make BTC their property because they believe that the way the world is moving forward, Bitcoin will be nationalized. Although there are various problems with nationalization at the moment, developed countries accepting BTC are accepting it because they have plans for it in the future. There is no technological possibility at the moment, but this technological possibility will bring solutions to these very soon. That is why all the developed countries have started considering Bitcoin as an asset, not a property. And they all know that if you hold the asset, you will never lose from it, that is why the developed countries are so interested in Bitcoin.

Trump said in an interview with CNBC that he wants to do something about crypto. He has already found confidence in Bitcoin, so he does not want to take China or anyone else at the moment; he wants to move forward in his own way. After China, when Donald Trump of the United States commented about Bitcoin, big investors found more confidence in Bitcoin.

Such market manipulation may not be beneficial for the majority of them though considering that in the scenario when the US government is carrying out market manipulation they'd want to make profit which means they have to pump and then dump on people to make money. Those people getting dumped on have to be the majority of traders and they have to lose money for the US government to make a profit...

It's obvious that they have a plan and if you look at the person that is bring this to the picture is a business person and he will do everything possible to make things better than when it was that is one of the primary functions of the president and trump seems to have picked serious intrest in bitcoin so there is no way that he would not want to make this happen, just that the market manipulation they will want to will only be manipulated to there own favour.

And if that is the case other traders will have to be behind and they won't have a choice than to change strategy because of one of drags that bitcoin comes with is that it's to dependent on news and statements and this are part of what they will use, experts know how bitcoin works so they will use it against it. And couple with the fact that they saw how El Salvador made profit, they will want to use that as an example for them self so let's wait till trump is fully signed in and see what is installed for bitcoin.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/digital-assets/2024/12/14/trump-confirms-bitcoin-reserve-plans-15-trillion-price-boom-predicted/

This may be the biggest news of all for the Bitcoin market. US President Donald Trump has adopted Bitcoin because before Donald Trump won the election, the price of Bitcoin started to increase at a rocket speed and still the price of Bitcoin continues to increase. The Bitcoin Reserve Plan that he has now confirmed is positive for the Bitcoin market and will be bullish for Bitcoin.  Trump told CNBC in an interview that they are going to do great things with crypto because they don't want China or anyone else. Maybe that's why they confirmed the Bitcoin reserve plan.

Trump told CNBC in an interview:

[img

Bitcoin will have still skyrocketed in price as usual after halving, even without Donald Trump, not really that Trump is the main thing why Bitcoin is increasing in price, there are couple of things, one is that, Bitcoin was cut into halves and it become more scarcier that ever, secondly,  Bitcoin ETFs approval, and lastly Trump being a pro Bitcoin president with his campaign promises about how he's going take Bitcoin now gave investors more confidence to flood into the market for the race to acquire Bitcoin.

So we expect a real Wild West where everyone will do whatever they want, all at the expense of the irreplaceable US dollar. Roll Eyes

That's precisely what the original idea of bitcoin was all about. I don't know if you think the first bitcoiners were people who believed that what you need are politicians putting more and more regulations and taxes.

You believe a man who has been charged with 37 indictments and destroyed everything he touched in his life? The man who says that this was the last election in the US and the man who will apparently turn the world upside down? I don't hate that man, it's just not clear to me that there are people who are totally blinded by his promises that it doesn't even matter to them that he even attempted a coup in which his supporters killed innocent people.

Well, it is clear that we do not have the same political ideas and I guess it is not worth entering into heated debates, which end up being an unnecessary waste of energy to end up reinforcing one's own positions, not convincing the other of anything.

What I will tell you is that even though Donald Trump has never been my cup of tea and I have said so since the first term (you can look in my posts in the forum), it is clear to me that what has advanced humanity and its welfare the most have been free trade policies, more similar to those advocated by Trump. And I leave you with a quote from theymos to reflect on:

I'm not Trump's biggest fan by any means, and he's done plenty of stuff that is both criminal and incredibly unethical. But what I take from the fact that a convicted felon was elected as president is that the criminal justice system is a joke, and the American people know it. There are so many very-broad criminal laws that anyone can be convicted of anything, and it all comes down to whether the government considers it convenient to prosecute you or not. Now that Trump is in charge of the DoJ, you'll be seeing quite a few top Democrats become convicted felons, I think, and these convictions will have about the same amount of "justice" in them as Trump's convictions.

(Neil Gorsuch, my favorite Supreme Court justice, recently published a book about this sort of thing: Over Ruled: The Human Toll of Too Much Law.)

Besides, I don't know if you think the alternative is that they are saints or something, just look at Biden's amnesty for his son, even though he publicly denied repeatedly for years that he was going to pardon him.

It may be bullish for the market for the time being but I wouldn't call it a positive thing overall and I'm afraid we will have to face it in the future when the US government starts manipulating the market in order to earn profit to cover their gaping budget deficit...
This is the worst case scenario. US Government milking Bitcoin holders through manipulation which they can since Bitcoin price is highly dependent on what’s Trump stand on Bitcoin.

Bitcoin price pump and dump in an insane level which is very profitable to anyone who can manipulate it especially US government.

Well, if this happens; I'm sure that a host of other 1st world countries would follow suit including Germany only that they'd be buying back at much higher price than they sold.

Definitely, other allies of the United States of America will follow suit if bitcoin strategic reserved is established because since US is the world power, most countries will also like to be part of any decisions the US makes. As for Germany, despite that they sold their bitcoins some time ago but it won't be much of a problem to them if they will be buying back at higher prices. Having bitcoin as a national reserve currency will be very beneficial to any country that will adopt bitcoin, even if the results will be more visible in the long run. Anyone or country who sold bitcoins in the past don't need to regret much if they can buy back and hodl again, the future of bitcoin holds more greater achievements than what we see now.

That's precisely what the original idea of bitcoin was all about. I don't know if you think the first bitcoiners were people who believed that what you need are politicians putting more and more regulations and taxes.
With Bitcoin blockchain, there is only Bitcoin transaction fee, no sales tax like with tokens on altcoin blockchain and smart contracts so that altcoin developers can set up sales tax and you lose big with their tax.

With Bitcoin, government only can try to charge their citizens on capital gain tax and maybe more, but it's not because of Bitcoin blockchain. It's done by governments and their greediness to get as much money as possible in tax from their citizens.

Proofs show the truth that the Democratic Party wanted to turn the whole USA. to a Blue nation, by importing illegal immigrants to their country, and want to give them many benefit and priviledges as well as vote rights. They did illegal immigrant import to buy votes from them and to bias Decennial Census of Population every ten years. It is ironic that in the Decennial census, they count for all people who are living and working in the USA, and don't take into account their citizenship status.

Quote
Besides, I don't know if you think the alternative is that they are saints or something, just look at Biden's amnesty for his son, even though he publicly denied repeatedly for years that he was going to pardon him.
Joe pardoned Hunter and by the way, unofficially pardoned himself too.

Definitely, other allies of the United States of America will follow suit if bitcoin strategic reserved is established because since US is the world power, most countries will also like to be part of any decisions the US makes.

This is true. If anything, a FOMO cycle will kick in and it'd be a race for who would be able to to get as much bitcoin as possible. The perceived value of Bitcoin will be higher and countries will flock in to buy en masse.

Ask El Salvador how much they have made since they started buying bitcoin; several multiples in returns. Once 1st world countries start using that as. benchmark, the price will go full parabolic.

I do not think this is what Satoshi had in mind, if he actually wanted to help common people.

When I first joined the forum, major of the discussions were around Bitcoin getting mass adoption but the untold truth at that time was that, we'd have to share bitcoin with the government. If we want mass adoption, we should be ready to pay the price. We literally pushed for a Bitcoin ETF for many years.

Same goal even though the goal post constantly changes.

This is all great, but I really just want to see all this AML and KYC BS go away.  It's too much of a barrier for small business/startup innovation.

Only with bitcoin, or with everything related to money and assets? How do you see lack of transparency affecting to corruption and money laundering? Or are those things that you wouldn't mind happening on larger scale?

And if you are only separating bitcoin to be outside of AML why is that? With liquidity of it increasing and promises of US reserve, don't you think everyone would move to avoid sanctions and wash their money in bitcoin if that was outside of AML?

It however doesn't look like their Department Of Government Efficiency would propose significant cuts to FinCen in any way, nor there's any signal that US would leave FATF.

What they going to get rid of is regulations that regulate banks to protect their customers, meaning more more bank bailouts in the future. So, ironically circle closes to text embedded in first block of bitcoin: "The Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks"

FED Chairman tried to deny that they want to buy bitcoins as reserve of the USA. They can change in future but this stance now is bringing uncertainty and panic in Bitcoin community. People who are new here actually feeling bad about this news from FED today.

If they are here for a long time, they will not care about it, and I see it like Bitcoin Spot ETFs. For many years, 10 or 11 years since a first application of Bitcoin Spot ETF in the USA, many applications were refused over about a decade.

Finally, we have Bitcoin Spot ETF approvals, not only for one, but about dozen of Bitcoin Spot ETFs, in January 2024. And I am thinking of similar growth for National Bitcoin Reserves. Soon the USA and other countries will do it, we will have it in future. If not in 2025, several years later we will have it, and it will be an irreversible trend.

The decade-long journey to a US spot bitcoin ETF

Because they don't want to buy bitcoin but they may have no choice. Powell said the truth and it did not bring panic to bitcoin.

What's happening in Bitcoin is the same thing that happened in the beginning of December. Leveraged people are getting liquidated and last time that event took us from over 100k to 92k. Expect a similar liquidation event but most likely with higher bottom like 94k because for every leveraged gambler there's a normal buyer who holds bitcoin and both these numbers go up with time. Bitcoin goes up and corrects but every time there's a few more holders.

Why don't the FED buy bitcoin? Because Trump hasn't done anything yet. He's not going to be the president for another month and Powell doesn't have to listen to him.
Panicking over a statement that is true is plain and simple stupidity. If someone is selling because Powell said FED doesn't want to buy Bitcoin, he's an idiot.

FED might not buy bitcoin, but they're dependent to US. government and the US. government with Trump adminstration can buy bitcoin. The news leads to FUD because many people misunderstood it and they thought that FED and the US. government are the same entity.

With experienced people, FUD times give them great opportunities to buy more bitcoin with discount prices.

FUD causes dips, and dips mean chances that the market does not give you in bullish times. During fud times, during dips, there are some unique opportunities to buy at lows which are not usually avaialable during a parabolic bull run.

Price can dip lower than $92k, but it won't turn the Bitcoin market to bearish and it won't break the bullish trend. In a big bull run, a big test is important to wipe out all leveraged people to clean up the market, and to prepare for lighter take off in future.

I couldn't agree with you more man. People will freak out and say that bitcoin is dead becasue it dropped back down to 100k or a little below and its really just funny at this point. As Putin recently said, nobody can stop Bitcoin! Every country will do it soon, at least all the smart ones. IF we can manage to make this happen sooner than later it will surely be better for any country who does this.

it is clear to me that what has advanced humanity and its welfare the most have been free trade policies, more similar to those advocated by Trump.
It is funny to see Trump and free trade in the same sentence. The man who not only implemented a far more severe version of Obama's tariff war but also is talking about making it even worse in this term. Something that is the exact opposite of "free trade policies" Cheesy

He is more of a "regulated trade" at most - protectionism policies are no joke.
