I'm simply tired of this. I will not be verifying the account because I've decided that I will not be betting anymore. I've put myself in a difficult situation and I have many restless nights and nightmares because of this. I don't think I'm a bad sports bettor, in fact many of my predictions win, but I am addicted to parlays and I have been chasing my losses for too long. The pressure was just too much for me.

Two weeks ago I made a good money on sports betting, it's on a parlay. However, after that, it was all heartache and mental stress as I have been losing in the last week or so. Probably it's just beginning's luck or whatever, but every time that I will be losing it's very hard to take specially if there is just one game that will destroy your parlay. So it's obvious that want I did is to stop, although it's hard to fight that inch not to bet even on a single game. But started this Monday, yeah I did stop and not betting, but again, you have to mentality very tough. Just like today, a friend of mind ask if I bet, damn, when you wanted to quit, it seems that someone wants you back. But I simply answered that I didn't because I feel asleep. I might go back to bet though when I'm feeling confident about myself, but for now, I'm not and I just want to stop.

That is a good choice that you won't gamble anymore. I find it hard for people to be ruined by sport betting which is the least devastating of all games compared to other luck games like slot machines which can kill anyone dreams in the shortest amount of time. I know how you feel as I have won big in slots and lost them all the days after I won them and it totally sucks. Sports betting or gambling does not destroy you friends but you destroy yourself, I am very concerned about why many people are like this, where they are unable to manage their emotions in gambling which causes them to lose a lot of money in gambling.
If OP plays gambling responsibly he will determine how much money will be spent and will calculate it easily in the next 4 years if he calculates the accumulation of 4 years, unfortunately he is not like, he is careless about what he does himself so the risk today is to feel cheated and hurt by the form of gambling or casino, even though it is his own fault in managing his gambling.

You will bounce back from this ugly situation as long as you hold the determination to do so; it is a good thing that you have made the decision not to gamble anymore. Such decisions are usually made by frustrated gamblers, but they end up sometimes still gambling because it is easier to just say you will not gamble anymore than it is in practice. You will have to really try your best because if you have been gambling for long, stopping suddenly can be almost impossible.

If it is possible to include your friends and family in this decision that you've made, telling them about your new choice not to gamble anymore, maybe they could help you stay in line by making sure that they are not triggers to your urge to gamble.

It will be easier to make the decision not to gamble anymore around friends who you have informed about it, and then they keep discussions about sports betting and gambling away from you than not to inform friends about this personal decision and still stay around them while they have discussions about sports picks, gambling, and betting.

The best way to quit gambling is to quit and not to write how gambling ruined you and your addiction story. You have all the tools at your disposal use it. Quit. Delete the apps. Apply for self-exclusion. Close your bet account. Seek physical help. These are proactive behaviors that will combat the addiction. Threads on the gambling section of Bitcointalk do not cut it. Sympathy and empathy from us won't help either. It's your life take charge of it.

Someone posted about some strategies on how to overcome betting addiction. Here's a thread on it https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5521396.0  and I found it to be an interesting read, and I think others might too.

Although, someone in the thread said the author is a scammer, but I believe someone else might come across this thread and find it useful if they're struggling with betting addiction. It can help them make better decisions.

The takeaway is that it's not just about talking about something or posting about it, but taking measures to actually stop or improve.

from that moment when the mindset of being an expert that can never lose comes up, it is clearly an indication that you are headed to some ruin because no one regardless of how experienced the person will be too accurate in his betting and will never lose. i guess that kind of thought would have led you to use an amount that is far high to make your bet which would have accumulated to this groose loss. that are at some point started chasing your losses is another mistake you made but it is just unfortunate that you had to learn your lesson the hard way after you have lost this great amount of money.

making the decision to stop or reducing on your gambling at this point is the best decision you have to make because you don't want it to get to the point your life becomes totally ruined because of your attempt to recover your losses. a lot of people are at this point and don't even know how to come out of it. gambling is not a means to an end; it's for fun and not something you should be doing too often. just get yourself involved in something that is engaging so you can at least walk through this phase. good luck!

I agree with what you said, I see if OP seems to have gambling experience and has also been in this forum for a long time, so he should be able to take the experience of the many posts from those who have been involved in gambling as experience so that the OP can Play responsibly, like, by setting a special budget in gambling and not exceeding the limit to be spent,  in addition, the OP should realize that if you try to chase losses by continuing to gamble, it will only make us lose more.

I am sorry to see your losses but you already know how this ends, the money is not coming back and thus there is no point in crying over spilled milk. You have to pull yourself together and not do the revenge betting. Stop betting completely and get back to your life, work and loved ones. Accept your losses and your predicament. We have to put that behind us and earn to live again.

It takes time to build wealth and takes just one small mistake to lose years of accumulation. So dont take the step of gambling to make money back after a loss, it will never work.

I feel sorry for what you’ve experienced from sports betting. There’s clearly a higher risk of losing with parlay, and everyone should be aware of that. Although you might be getting big if you win, but there’s also increased risk of losing the entire wager once one leg losses, so that’s how disadvantageous parlay is.

However, there’s always second chances with gambling, as long as you’ve learned already from your mistakes. But for the meantime, it’s better if you would take a break and get rid of your mental and emotional struggles. When you’re ready to gamble again in the future, at least be cautious by then.

Okay. It's the best way to stop the spending of money. Quit gambling. I do hope you will also not come back for good. I mean, there are gamblers who say these things because they are frustrated but the next day they will come back to gambling again. Don't do that. Be true to your word and apply it without having the urge to gamble again.
You said it, you are addicted to parlays and I bet the urge will come back once you watch the sport where you mostly do your parlays. From this story, the only thing I understand that caused more of your problems was the fact that you allowed yourself to be deceived by the winning steaks you experienced when you newly started. You actually had the believe that you can still be able to get huge win but what you did not realize so quickly is that winning in gambling is based on luck and not certainty. Although it's a good decision that you took to stop gambling but if you change your mind towards gambling again, never allow your previous wins to influence your future decision.
