We are not even especifically talking about VRChat, actually, in any metaverse-like game which allows players to interact with one another and their environment there are elements which would allow for the coding and implementation of gambling, since we would be talking about a third party service/world turned into a casino, it would depend on that service currency itself whether the wager of each gambler could have some actual value in the real world or not.

I don't know, are you confusing play money with the term "social"? The final effect is the same when I use fiat money to buy virtual currencies or points as you call them. Otherwise the whole term of a casino is skewed here. You could of course play in casino with play money only, but I don't think that is what a lot of people are after.
