Guess correctly and win $50 To Celebrate Christmas/new year

To celebrate the new year together and having fun while we are with our love ones, I have decided to host a contest between our community (9ja local board), and any one can as well participate since our local board is mostly pidgin and simple English which they read and understand.
I am putting a contest using 16 reputable forum users name who wouldn’t find our contest offensive seeing their name mentioned here…
You will have to guess between from today to 25th of January 2025, entry close by 12pm GMT, and winner will be announced 2-4 days interval.
Note: I might keep repeating this contest every year.

You can only pick minimum of 3 persons from the list above, and guess what their merits will end before 24th of January, entry closing on 15th January. After which take a screenshot of it and quote with your application on 25th January. Do not edit your submission after your entry. You can only quote while posting your screenshots.
Whomever that guess correctly will received $50 +10$ by
Justbillywitt ($60). Note: Only one lucky winner will be selected!

For case of two people picking same users and they both have same results then the fund will be shared among the two winners, all 3 must not be correct if one person enter among the three then you win (1,2 or 3). Great initiative I must say, it is not always about posting and commenting on people’s posts in the forum only, but having some entertaining contests like this makes the forum more enjoyable to all.

From my observation of the rules of the contest, it is going to be a very tough one to win, guessing three correct answers won’t be that easy, but it’s all fun when it gets not too easy to win.

Not a very too hard one to give it a trial. I much commend OP for this, nice initiative. Compliments of the season and I wish you the best on this.

This is the third contest I'm seeing in this board. Good jobs to you @OP.
But, TBH, I really find somethings confusing.
1. If a user picks all the names(because you only asked for a minimum of 3), and makes different guesses, and ends up getting just one correct, will that still count as a lucky win?

2. And, don't you think it will be ideal to make the guess very easy or probably something nearest to, rather than requesting for the exact figure. What I mean is that, you can choose to accept the guess that is very close to the actual merit, or maybe a guess in thousands like 2300, 2400, 2500.

To continue you have to pick 3 users and above listed to make your prediction what their merits would end by 24th January. So there is no need to reserve a spot rather you can keep monitoring whomever you want to mention their names and after which you can post them here.

Now, that is my guess (prediction) by 24th January 2025.

And I won't edit this reply immediately I have posted it. You must click on their profile to see their merits numbers before you cast your predictions.

However, to make it looks so simpler and enjoyable I have decided to make the winning very easy for us.. That is say, if you pick 3 names if any of them enters then you win.

This year celebration is massive as we already have about 3 contest on the Nigerian board (local).
I think the contest will be interesting as it's not like a Bitcoin predictions when you predict bitcoin to reach a certain amount and it begins to dip or increase excessively. Predicting merits will be tougher but I believe the luckiest person will go home with the price.

I applaud you for your initiative for creating this thread but I have observation, since you made mentioned of reputable members of the forum in your list, yo why didn't you move this thread to reputation section or meta section, I thought that you would have mentioned all the local reputable members because here is a local section.

Secondly, what will be the benefits of the people who earn highest merit, the answer is nothing, so my brother, for my personal suggestion this thread is not supposed to be created in local board since its not all made of call members.

I’m well aware that you didn’t pick EVERYONE, as you only picked out people I believe are notable members of the forum, (if I’m not mistaken) and I’m trying to say that the list isn’t complete without JayJuanGee’s name being there, because I believe not just me but majority of us here on the local board and even generally how much Jay is contributing to the community globally, or are you claiming to be naive of this fact?

I was also expecting I’d even see the likes or CryptopreneurBrainboss and Igebotz and many more that not just I believe are notable too.

The reason for this long is to have possible winner, if is short then it wouldn't be that fun. The fun part of it is the long it's taking so we can see what would make us laughing. However, it's meant for next year celebration as this months to next months 24th will be game moment instead of just having it so short.

Now, this concept is just like prediction, were you predicts two clubs whom is to win or, just like Bitcoin price prediction which you will have to leave a price before 24th January. Whomever that predicted correctly will have to receive 50$. Now instead of that, you will only have to guess people's merits earnings to know how many merits they will end up having by that time, and if any applicants guess it correctly then that person wins. I think this is very simple as shouldn't confused everyone here as this is not what will twist people's Brain as its simple thing to make guess by just picking 3 names above and reply back here with what they would ends with.

This means that if you give everybody the chance to guess tight from now till 25th then everybody  will probably just wait to drop their entries on 24 then screenshot on 24 and send it on 25 easy pizzy

Here is what you can do imo ...

Break it into two aspect (from what you stated),  the guessing which should run for maybe 1-2 weeks, then the screenshot can come in on 25th , this is not necessary though a good suggestion would be just taking the guess only, creating a open data entry list just like a raffle since it can't be changed once guessed, now you can make your selection on 24th January after checking each of their merits count compared to contestant guess  to pick a winner ..

Sug: it's not easy to get accurate result why not just set nearest guess  plus you need to consider more winner than just one but if you feel that's what you want to use then it's your rule

Hahaha you are right actually, I think OP needs to adjust a lot of things in this contest. What I was even thinking is that OP would have given a duration of time that the entries would last (like a week before the contest ends) then anyone that his guesses corresponds on the last day will be the winner because if it is left open till the last day it means that someone can actually wait till the die minutes before dropping their predictions. So OP should consider our opinion for transparency purposes and also to make the contest look moderated.
