Gambling during the holidays

Since it's the holiday season, it's probably better not to gamble for now, it's better to focus on this holiday season with our loved ones or family. It's only once a year.
But if you can't help yourself, it might just be for a while.

It's still better for the family to dedicate this holiday season to my own opinion and opinion, I'll do it again next year, not this time.

It is fine to gamble during holiday as long as we can set a time limit so it wont disturb our holidays with families or friends.
Of course not gambling at all during holidays will be better so we can enjoy our holidays.
This way, it will also help us to control ourselves especially those who cant stop gambling easily so holidays moment can be used as a way to stay away from it for a while at least.

You can use the season to divert your attention just in case you are really deep in gambling engagements, though like what you said it's okay if you are not in that situation, if you can set your limits and you are aware of what risk is behind if you exceed and not been able to control yourself, holiday season can be use to spend time with your family though, same thing, if you have that control then you can go along without participating in any gambling activities, you'll be able to spend that day to your family or your friends.

Actually its not really that bad to gamble even into that holiday season on which as long you arent spending up your entire day with gambling or in front of your PC or with your mobile phone then it should be just that fine, but it will be that much more better that you do spend up the time with your family and just like on what everyone is saying on here is that holiday season do only happen once a year on which allocating up that time for this time only will be not gonna hurt you on skipping out at least 1 day with your gambling activity.  There might be moments that urge will really be there but doesnt mean that you will be that just prioritizing it over your family.

Skip this day and buy out something which could make your family members be happy at least into the things that you are buying rather than on losing it all again into the casino. Most of the time on which gamblers do really get blinded by too much greed on which this do lead into addiction and they cant be able to determine on which one is really that a good decision and which one is a bad one. Well, it is our own money to be spend and if you do like on spending it on gambling then it will be on your own choice but if you are wanting to have at least some spending with quality time and sharing up the love then spending up time with your family will be the sweet spot.

Some people stay away from gambling because they will be afraid to change the atmosphere of their feelings while on vacation with family when they lose gambling, hahaha I know how it feels, but that can be anticipated by ourselves even though we keep betting, for example you reduce margin Bets your bet and bet according to your ability to be ready to lose it even if you get taunts and when you lose you will not regret and be disappointed while winning it will add to your happiness during the rest.

As someone who has stopped gambling I believe the holidays are meant to be a time of happiness, togetherness and reflection not an opportunity to gamble and risk turning a good time into something regrettable with losses. I think it’s important to remember that celebrations don’t need to involve risk. For those who still gamble, I suggest setting strict limits or even skipping it altogether during the holidays. I believe that if you couldn’t avoid gambling in such days, then you must be in a close road for addiction.

What are your general traditions when it comed to gambling during the holidays? It would be interesting to see different perspectives

The holidays isn't just like every other holiday's of the year, it's with a combination of the Christmas .and the new year celebrations and as such it calls for family moments away from gambling. It's a short period of celebration and staying away from gambling for now and spending time with family and friends creating memorable moments this holiday would be more beautiful for me than the gambling.

Aside the EPL where football games are still in play, other major leagues in Europe have taken a break to allow players spend some quality time with family members and I think it's something to emulate as a gambler because in my view we have all the year to gamble after now.

I feel that I usually don’t have enough money to gamble during the holidays. During these New Year and Christmas holidays, I enjoy time with my family. We travel, eat outside, and live to the fullest. For this, I spend money on buying these temporary luxuries; hence I don’t have extra money to gamble. A man earns hard-earned money to spend on himself and on his family; hence, I make sure that we enjoy ourselves throughout this holiday. I don’t know about others, but I don’t gamble during the holidays due to the budget constraints.

Usually, most of us spend a lot during the holidays and this is the season of giving so we tend to spend and give to our loved ones because that's what we think is the right thing to do. So, the lesser money we've got, the lesser attention we do in the gambling activities that we usually do. That's why if we travel a lot and buy things and presents for the holidays, we have to be happy with that and as you've said, we have to enjoy our time altogether with our family but I have buts in here. If you're up to have some fun with your me-time, no one should stop us from gambling if ever we can do it with our free time and still have got some spare.

Come in mind of that holidays do only happen once in a year or a specific day of the year on which it will really be just that too much if you will really be trying out to gamble even on holidays. It will really be that worth if you will be having that consideration on putting up your time into your family rather than on spending it solely on gambling but of course when it comes to someones choice then it will really be just that depending on you but of course it will really be that recommended that you do really know at least on what you should be gonna doing. Just be sure that on the time that you had find yourself spending up with gambling then it will really be that up to you.

Holiday season is something that you will really be needing up to consider out first because this do only happen once a year and its recommended that you do really know at least that you spend up some time with your family. You do really know at least the importance family on which this one is really that needing up to consider on doing so. Its not really that bad to have such step at least so that you wont be having regrets if ever there might be some problems in between family members.

Though, I don't know about you, but if someone tells me their have tried to reduce their gambling activity during holidays and they have not been able to do so, then sadly I would consider such a person to have a problem of self-control (which is the root to develop addiction  to gambling in the first place).
Actually, whether it is during the holidays or not it is irrelevant, a responsible gambler and someone under control of their money and habits is supposed to stop at any time of the year if they believe to be in their best interest to do so.

When I win, gambling is a big entertainment that will bring so much joy but when I lose, it is not entertainment because I just lost money so it is normal to feel bad. There is a popular adage in my locality that "money does not grow on trees" which means every money one gets is a product of efforts. I won't feel entertained losing such money unless perhaps I paid the money for comedy or shows specifically designed for entertainment. 

In another perspective,  if you gamble for entertainment,  there is high chances that your emotion will mix up with your decision making  which is not a good practice in gambling.

That's right but having to gamble during the holidays especially during the festive season it's an indelible factor cause it's a period one ought to enjoy every moments spent, so gambling during that process is not resisted but mind you we ought to be discipline to clearly stay off addictions and losses in the long run, so gambling during the holidays is alot fun to me just as you gamble with an amount you can afford to lose.

To be honest there are those that only gamble during holidays and this are those who are not really in to gambling and all they are doing as to this regards is to maximize fun Play and that is if they have the privilege to do that maybe through friends around them. However, no doubt it is very important staying within as just a fun play of which doing everything possible not to be carried away and spend more than expected in order to avoid ruining the holiday, yeah being discipline and watchful will be the best thing to do because one can easily get carried away by the fun.

Yes, wife will stop their husband spending the money for the things that is not useful for them. Their wife will suggest to keep that money for other things instead just to use for playing gambling which can not always win but only lose the money. Holiday will be for family so a gambler should know that he need to stop his gambling activity for a while and enjoy the holiday with his family.

He can return to casino after holiday so that no one will disturb him to playing gambling. We can not just playing gambling without think about other member family while we keep busy in gambling.

If you are financially free and you have several businesses, it is not unlikely that you will be able to go to the place you want, whether it is a beach resort, travel tour, etc.,
it is really nice to do that during the holiday season.

But for people like me who are not that financially free, but are just at the right level of life, it will be difficult for me to do that because I have things that must be prioritized

If you want to gamble, do it but never compromise the time and moment that you have for your family. You don't need to sacrifice any of it if you're flexible and can do both of it. Having vacation while you're also gambling, I've been there and done that.

During the year-end holidays, many people are very busy and have a lot to prepare, but there are also many people who do not have the opportunity to enjoy those things. Because not everyone has the opportunity to return home and reunite with their loved ones after a year of hard work, many people will have to celebrate the holiday alone and they often gamble to kill time. Or as summonerrk mentioned: many people need money during the holidays and it is no surprise that many people will think of gambling for a chance to make some quick money.

Even gambling activities will be more active as most people are in the mood to spend money during the holidays and gambling will be the choice of most people as everyone wants to try their luck at the beginning of the new year.

It's a personal preference, and perfectly understandable if someone wants to spend it as just another day of having fun. Some others want to be radically different to mark the event. For me christmas is mostly traditions, lots of offline and quiet time to gather my thoughts. It's spending time with my family and watching die hard and die hard 2.

People celebrate Christmas in different ways, because they have different traditions. Some of them celebrate Hanukkah, Yule, Kwanzaa, Saturnalia, Bodhi Day, and there are some others as well. Some people don't celebrate anything and it's fine.

Fun side fact: Reasons for people celebrating Christmas in 24-25. of 12th month, is that Christians basically took the time when others were celebrating anyway and decided that it was the day for them. There's no mention in the bible of that Jesus was even born in 12th month. It was probably just convenient time to change the focus of the party.

Correct but I am not sure how that has anything to do with gambling during these holidays though, unless you consider gambling to be one of those activities which are rather suitable for those who are financially free ?
Ironically, it has been proven over and over again gambling is an activity which is mostly partaken by those who come from a poor financial background and do not have access to attractive jobs or higher education, otherwise, gambling would not be so widespread in countries like Nigeria and India, where there are significant percentages of people suffering from social and economical problems...

I think most of the year maybe some of us gamble so you will do this moment a lot at any time, but the moments of vacation with the family are few, so organize the time as much as possible and postpone gambling now like what I did.
