Musk isn't dismantling the USA. All he is doing is finding and exposing the corruption that was/is destroying the USA. He has no authority whatsoever to destroy the corruption. If he did, we would have been out of the corruption long ago.

The job of destroying the corruption is Trump's... as foremost leader of the US. However, if the people would rather live in the corruption, even Trump won't be able to stop it. And it seems that a lot of people like corruption rather than honesty all around.

On Tuesday, Musk announced that he's taking a step back from his role at DOGE starting next month and "allocating far more of [his] time to Tesla."

His exit was always planned; so-called "special government employees" like Musk can only legally stick around in advisory roles for 130 consecutive days.

But his announcement served another purpose: soothing panicky Tesla shareholders, who have seen the company's net income tank 71% in the last quarter, with many blaming his break from the company combined with his alliance with Orange Man.

Musk always knew he'd be risking harm to Tesla but was willing to make the sacrifice for the good of the nation.

Yet a shocking number of Trump-Musk haters actually waged sociopathic attacks on Tesla vehicles and innocent dealerships and owners.

Democratic leaders encouraged this terroristic insanity, either with their silence or by smearing Musk as a big, bad "oligarch" and thus stoking the flames.

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz ghoulishly gloated over Tesla's falling stock prices, just weeks before a Minnesota government employee was busted for causing $21,000 in damage to random Teslas.

One would think progressives would cheer the guy who built Tesla into the biggest seller of electric vehicles in the United States, a project he took on explicitly to fight climate change.

now the team is in place and the strategy is trained. elon can leave them to it to carry on in his absence and he can just randomly check in and offer advise ad-hoc (whenever needed)

I had an Indian truck once just to check it out.  I just had to know what a 900cc 700cc turbo-aftercooled diesel engine felt like in a box van.  Still have it in fact.  It has about 1000km on the clock and sits broken down in the driveway of one of my places taking up space.  The worst piece of Chinese shit I've seen seems like a high-end Toyota compared the the Tata.

Musk definitely lost the plot in the last couple of years. Used to be about pushing tech forward, now it’s mostly noise, ego, and chasing clout. The whole “free speech warrior” act fell apart the moment it hurt his image or interests.

People still treating him like some genius savior probably haven’t been paying attention to how inconsistent and self-serving he’s become. It’s not about innovation anymore, it’s about control. 700cc _diesel_!  That would not be expected to run a rototiller normally.  As I say, it was turbo-charged and aftercooled, and this certainly made a difference.  It was actually quite usable in third-world countries where speeds rarely exceed 40 mph.  At least power wise.  We put more weight in it than in my Hilux and the wheels were smaller than my Avanza!

What killed it was that even a 'professional' driver in a third-world country can be expected to put about twice as much oil in the crankcase as it holds at full.  This he did, and it blew out turbo seals.  Naturally replacements were impossible to source.  If I wanted it repaired to a close to usable state I would have to do it myself.  Probably again and again and again.  No thanks.  It was a fun experiment.
