Satoshi is to blame for lost profits. Why he  couldn't warn everyone that Bitcoin would make a revolution? Instead of he silently mined and kept most of his bitcoin and became a whale. This is not fair

At the time when everything was just starting, I saw only some weak articles about Bitcoin. Then eGold and Pecunix are dominated. And even such lousy electronic currencies had powerful marketing.

Satoshi was either a completely lousy marketer or he planned it all this way - to become a big whale

In 2013 I bought cheeseburger for 8 bitcoins. A cheeseburger was dry and tasteless. I was deceived
In 2013 that 8 BTC was worth $100 to $9500.
Wow, then I am a double loser.
There weren't even any decent charts back then.
I didn't even know how to check the rate.

Satoshi - why are you so greedy? Why did you do this to everyone? Bitcoin was intended to be a fair decentralized system, but in fact, the distribution of Bitcoin happened - very unfairly

Lol, so Satoshi is to blame for you not believing enough in bitcoin, how convenient. In 2010 if someone had told you that bitcoin would be $100k someday, there is a very high chance that you would have called the person crazy and still not have bought, but now in hindsight, it is so convenient for you to say Satoshi didn't tell you the future, like he could see it on the palm of his hands, lol. Faucets were a big thing back in the day. You can’t really say they were a waste of time because you could actually accumulate a decent amount of Bitcoin. So, OP, hats off to you for giving away Bitcoin as you’ve helped someone and the community, and that’s commendable. As for me, I’ll admit, I was too greedy back then. I ended up losing more than 20 Bitcoins to gambling. Some of the ones I managed to cash out, I didn’t hold onto for the long term, even though I always preached about holding. Sometimes, I couldn’t even follow my own advice and ended up betraying myself.

If you look back at it now, faucets were not a waste of time but at that time, it also didn't feel very rewarding. I claimed a lot on faucets also (mainly DOGE) and accumulated a couple of thousands of it. Most of them I lost trying to double it on obscure sites and most I cashed it when in reached 0.001$ lol. Anyway, it is crazy to think that in the early days you could claim 5 BTC which is now worth 500,000$.

Ironically shitcoin mining made me most of my bitcoins.
Many people tried solo mining Bitcoin but were unable to make an impact when facing huge mining pools or in fact being part of a pool, if they got in at the right time or had a bit of good fortune on their side they would have been very successful. The flip side of that was the miners going elsewhere after giving up on trying to mine Bitcoin and made a lot of money mining other coins. It is the way things played out for people as they were all learning about what crypto was and how to benefit from it.

Most of us here have a similar story I believe. I had a good stash too and then I panic dumped it in 2020 during the plandemic2020. I thought this time it is real, the world is about to end… and it didn’t. I got scammed. Of course I shouldn’t blame others but it was a very well orchestrated scam which scammed thousands of people out of their positions… I wasn’t the only one.
Sorry about you selling your crypto, it must ordinarily have been a difficult decision to sell them (unless you genuinely thought the end was nigh). I read between the lines and came to a conclusion but can you elaborate on what the well orchestrated scam was.

I know it sounds crazy but I did give away over 20 bitcoin to total strangers with my bitcoin faucet websites back in 2014 to 2017. I never got "rich"
from crypto but I feel good knowing I had a part of growing the community in the early days. Maybe some of the people I helped had good fortune.

It still blows my mind to this day to think of it all.

Good for the people who got the coins.

Think of it this way: You may have changed some lives for the better. Thinking about things in a positive light is definitely better than the opposite. And hey, at least you did not pay thousands of BTC for a pizza. Grin

can you elaborate on what the well orchestrated scam was.
I stayed in a small hotel in Cyprus. I looked through local websites and found cheeseburger delivery. Some time after ordering for 8 BTC an Indian guy arrivs to me with a Cheeseburger and leaves. I tear off the packaging - and there is a dried-out Cheeseburger

Times that won't return, now greed and selfishness prevail. It's noticeable in recurring topics here, in posts like 'Help recover my btc,' 'wallet.dat corrupt, help!'—usually people just passing through the forum! GitHub repositories have not been updated for years, due to the very low return. Almost no one thinks like you these days, most are looking to increase their own wealth and feed their own ego.

This is unfortunate.

But it is important to find and foster communities that still value collaboration, sharing, and mutual support. Despite the current trend, there are still people who prioritize these values (few, but they do exist).

What is there to not understand?

The German Chancellor Angela said “This is by far the biggest threat we are facing since the world war.”

And it was just a fucking flu.

That was the scam.

Thousands of people panic sold their assets because of the shitheads like her. She wasn’t the only one who made people panic.

Then thousands of retards started to wear masks outside…

And you are asking “what was the scam”

Were you born yesterday or playing dumb? I can’t decide.

Btw, Did you know what Trump said?

“This will pass in no time don’t worry”

I should have listened to him he was right again. Globalists puppets like Merkel and her ilk have only one thing their minds: Steal.

Some scamming moron paid 10 BTC (allegedly) to another scamming moron for my fake dox back in the GAW scam days. That's gotta be one of the dumbest ways to waste a million bucks.
For 10 BTC, I'll dox myself. It's more than enough to move Tongue

I tried:

What if I post a thread that offers a 10 BTC bounty to the first person that can positively identify either Suchmoon or Paul Revere.

I'll help you out and dox myself. Who's the escrow?

But the dimwit insisted on getting scammed and didn't take the offer.

Satoshi was not God and he didn't even believe bitcoin will be what it is today, that is why he kept bitcoin at a beta stage till date. Same reason he suggested you should only invest what you are able to lose. If Satoshi wasn't getting bitcoin by mining, he wouldn't have believed bitcoin to spend $1k in buying it.
Satoshi only believed the system because of it's fixed supply but he was totally unaware of what bitcoin would be. That was why he said in the future, bitcoin could worth much or worth nothing.

We never know if those who use your faucet still holds those bitcoins. But you know what, I feel like you regret what you did. Instead of giving it away, you might be thinking that you should have held onto those coins. It's the same for many users here who regret not holding bitcoin for the long term. I can't imagine myself if I hold 20 bitcoins now, I could probably retire now living the dream that I want. And you wouldn't see me posting here on bitcointalk trying to earn $2.8 per post, lol. Anyway nice signature. This thread made click your signature 😅

If by attacking Satoshi some people believe they will force an agenda, they are misguided. Has anybody spotted the attention-seeker in the thread? It is a bit difficult to miss with the large fonts and the red background  Grin

There are probably too many stories to list about regrets no just related to the OP but across forum members. I think we all have read stories ranging from holding and selling or not doing enough when more could have been done and more will be added in future.

but I feel good knowing I had a part of growing the community in the early days.
I once gave 8 BTC for cheeseburger like an idiot and after some time, now do not feel any useful belonging to the community  in the early days. I just stupidly feel like I helped some Indian swindler who sold me a cheeseburger get rich

I feel very stupid, angry, I have FOMO due that. I don't feel any pride in myself for participating in the popularization of bitcoin by buying a cheeseburger for 8 bitcoins in the early days.

I feel like a donkey and stupid moose

I don't want to mask my stupidity with some high-flown statements about how I was a bitcoin pioneer. I know that I'm a complete loser without money now. I realize this and I honestly declare it to you all.

I am deeply disappointed in Bitcoin and Satoshi. I'm telling it like it is.

And that 8 Bitcoin which you bought with cheeseburger, had it been you held it till today, that would have been worth over $756,000 with the current price of Bitcoin been value at $94,500 per BTC at the time of writing this post. But however, that's the past, it's a new year, so let's focus on the future.

Quote

You literally don't have to blame yourself for not holding unto Bitcoin for dear life (i.e HODL), because for the fact that you are a member of it's community and still holding a few percentage of Bitcoin in your wallet, that's literally a huge advantage, but only for you not to repeat the same mistake you did by not investing and holding unto a large percentage for over a longer period of time like 5 to 10yrs from now.  Because one thing certain is that the future of Bitcoin is always bright and profitable.

Quote

I think you are the only person in the entire world I have heard made such statement, because why many are happy for how valuable Bitcoin has been over the years, it's sad to see someone disappointed in the project.

I can say from my perspective. I was using faucets in my early days in crypto, earned not that small amount what let me to start without investing from my own pocket. Didn't cashed out my faucet earnings during previous big bull runs, like when it reached $20k. So, now I still keep most of my faucet earnings and it's not that small part of my savings.
And that OP  gave away 20 Bitcoin in total doesn't means that he was holding such amount at once. It was continous proccess which took several years. Even back in the day 20 Bitcoins was significant money, something like $20-30k.

If I put myself in your shoes, I don't know if I should regret, feel happy or just cry for giving away such fortune especially knowing that I could not become rich through Bitcoin. Yes you might not be rich in monetary values but your contribution to Bitcoin is one thing that should be your consolation. Someone already attest to your faucet and your selfless as helping those days. Just imagine how many people and how many families and generations you would have impacted by bringing them into Bitcoin through your faucet. That is something to be proud of so I want you to cheer up and be happy you played a role in this historic creation called Bitcoin.

From the numbers of people that had the opportunity to get a lot of Bitcoin when the price was very low in the early days, I think only a few persons hold till Bitcoin broke the $20k years back, which means that there's a possibility that people that OP gave the 20 Bitcoin might not have made a fortune out of it.

@OP, if you are still reading, I would love to ask you, can you afford to buy 20 Bitcoin this time with it's current price?

Go back to the initial posts of the forum; there were a lot of such "millionaires." Some sold cheap, some gave away. I am sure that everyone who started on this forum has their own story that makes you sad. But I think OP can be thanked for not only giving away bitcoins but also spreading information about bitcoin. I am more sure that all the given bitcoins have long been sold, and not at the price that he represents today. But regretting that it could have been different is once again rubbing salt into your wound, so you should be glad that OP helped someone with his charity; this will be counted, if not in this life, then in some other world.
