this leads me to thinking whether do people bet on sports they do not enjoy or are not a fan of? maybe there are people out there who are just really in for the money and they would bet on sports that are popular and they have a bigger chance on winning at even if they do not particularly enjoy them

From my personal experience I prefer football and prioritize betting on football. But when the international break comes, I usually bet on other sports like UCF and NBA even though I don't really like those sports but just a small amount to try my luck (not about money). I'm sure some people here must do the same thing and they also bet on other sports that they don't like but not for money but to see luck on the final result of the match.

There are times when I bet for fun, there are times when I bet to make it more interesting to watch a match that I will watch anyway. In some cases, I just play for money. As for betting on those types of teams that I don’t like or those types of sports that I don’t like, there is no problem with that. You may not like a sports team or even the sport itself, but if your match is promising in terms of making money, then I assure you, everyone will like it. Because everyone likes to get money for the right prediction. If we take tennis, I didn’t like it at first. But after a few winning bets, I liked it.

There are plenty of sports which i don't like but sometimes i bets on them especially on big event which most people are talking about those events and Last time I bet on a sport I didn't like on Olympic event which at that time i bets on the sports such as swimming, sport climbing or weightlifting and why I still bet on those sports even though I don't like them because the Athletes from my country fought for medals at that event so i bets on the sports which i mentioned above and pick the athlete from my country as betting option but the results of my bets was dissapointing because i almost lost all of my money

There are some gamblers who are indeed hunting for victory from betting, they do not care about who and in which league are undergoing various match, people like this usually have lot of experience and knowledge about the sports they bet on such as football.
Even I personally often do the same thing, there are only two most I favorite team namely Real Madrid and Manchester City, but I follow several other league and study them all by following their developments to be able to bet if there is match that is interesting enough and can be analyzed more easily.

It would be more convenient for me to answer the question about the favorite sport that I want to follow regularly and the sport where I can bet more successfully. This will not be a revelation if we talk about football. Due to my occupation, I have some relation to football, although it is not exactly a sports direction, I actively follow the games of our local national championship. However, the pleasure of winning in the case when the bet was on your favorite team is much greater than in the case of formal bets on just those teams and types of competitions that you are not interested in, but are only interested in winning a little money from the bet. It is difficult to make bets or to analyze live match when you don`t know rules. I tried to analyze baseball matches. Yes, numbers don`t lie and i even got win rate higher than 50% but i didn`t understand what is going on.
And my favorite bets are live bets. With sports that i don`t know/understand - i can`t decide what i see, i can`t decide is my prediction ok or something went wrong.
As the result i stopped such bets for profit. But still make sometimes such blind bets with low stakes.

It's too strange how a person can bet on a game he doesn't even like.

There is nothing strange in placing a bet on a sport you dont like at all or enjoy watching. Good odds will make anyone to cross the line. Suppose you are building a multibet, you see tempting positions, you place your predictions and turn on Squid Game season 2 and disappear for a half day I am not a huge fan of football. I find boring watching 22 guys walking, running, kicking ball, trying to his in large box for 90 minutes, but there are always games live, games to bet on. From time to time I add some of the games to list of bets with the money left, close browser until next gambling session. If I win its cool, if not, then I am not very disappointed

First of all, majority are there for the money, only few are actually gambling for the thrill. I even bumped into a thread where the OP was specifically asking gamblers not to gamble for fun lol, and that people who claim to be gambling for fun are only deceiving themselves; sounds crazy but it’s actually true and it made me wonder how some person’s minds actually works.

I’ve actually bet on my favourite sport and game I was watching as well as also betting on games i barely know, and I can say that the experience isn’t the same at all, but I can say that, it’s way much fun and better betting on your favourite game because regardless of the outcome, you’ll still end up having fun at the end of the day.

Basically the same here, I really do not give attention to sports games I do not enjoy watching, and as such, its impossible for me to place any bet on a sports game I know nothing about, not even the name of a single player or league in that sports, doing this is the same as one throwing away his or her hard earned money because one's chances of winning such a bet is very slim.

But on the other hand, there are times when I am so obsessed with wanting to make money from sports betting that I don't mind betting on any thing so long as I make profit if I win the bet, but for this, I don't sit and analyze, I simply copy other people's bets, people I assume have enough knowledge in that same sports I have no knowledge in, I copy their bets and when they win, I win, and when they loose, well of course I lost too, but it's what it is, the good thing here is that, I perfectly understand the risk involved and always ready to bear the consequences of my action and not put blame on any one else, not even the person I copied his or her bet.

I do place bet before on random tennis matches when I’m still a newbie just because my favorite sports doesn’t have match for that time. I’m just betting randomly to earn profit but of course I’m using tipster website to choose my bet.

I’m not sure if this is applicable to everyone but I assume there’s always same case like especially newbie gambler that still betting on unknown sports due to the odds and vacation on some sports league after the season was over.

There are very few people who bet on gambling for fun and less so most people gamble with the intention of making money. But here those who once become addicted will keep betting and no reaction to losing or winning can stop them. But i always bet to win because whenever i win then i move on to new bets. The main reason for this is that i always allocate some part of my funds to gambling. Especially if i lose then i get discouraged to place the next bet because of the money crunch. I don't often bet on leagues because i know i can't make money from it because of the odds.

I love watching sports, especially my favorite game is cricket. I like to watch cricket matches more. I have favorite team in football, I watch football match if my favorite team is playing. To bet on football matches I look at the statistics of both the teams and the performance of the players and how they are currently performing. I am guessing that cricket is a thing in your country this is why you have high interest in it because in my country for example where cricket is not a national game there are a lot of us struggling to understand how the game really works. If personally you really don't enjoy those sports you are seeing on sportsbook then better not to bet on it. Since you are just wasting your time analyzing the past result and other things you think needed to help you win since the probabilities to win is low and for sure that you cannot enjoy or feel excited to see the result of your bets placed there.

Much better to place your bets only on sports you are watching since for sure that you will not have this feeling which you regret your decision why you spend your money on some team even if they lose since provably that you still enjoy watching them playing those sports you like.

Gamblers are funny and can do crazy things with their money. People bet on cock fight and some events which they know nothing about. Therefore, gamblers can bet on sports that they have zero knowledge on. I am a football fan, and I bet on football matches but that doesn't mean that I cannot bet on horse racing, because my friend loves horse race. He can analyze the game and I bet with his result. Luck is the key factor.

Everyone's mentality is different, so I would say that I bet the most on two sports, football and cricket. Because I like watching sports and I bet on sports based on my research, it gives me a lot of pleasure to watch. But I believe that I bet on the sports that I am most confident and trustful in, because it is never possible to win by betting blindly.
And even after repeated research and gaining experience, some bets have to be lost, so experience and research help in winning most bets.

There are sports that I don't dislike, I'm just not interested in. These are all kinds of skiing and swimming. I have nothing against these sports, but I'm not interested in it.
