I have been struggling with connecting my miner for while now. I connected to the Antminer just fine through an ethernet cable. I can't get it to connect to the internet though. I've done several factory resets, used different PCs, different internet routers/ISPs, and turned off my firewall. The person who sold it to me on eBay said they checked it before they shipped it. Any other suggestions? Here is an album with many of my settings and status: https://imgur.com/a/9EK94

If someone can help me through this, I will gladly tip them $10 worth of Bitcoin as a thank you.

Thanks!

Maybe try pressing the reset button on it? Reset to factory default settings.

Try making the DNS 8.8.8.8 and/or deleting the IPv4 broadcast.  I think it's the DNS server because of the ping fail..
Also make sure wifi is disabled, that one screwed with me for so long

I tried making DNS 8.8.8.8 and blank. Did work. I can connect to my miner just fine. I can't get the miner to connect to the internet to start mining. If I disable my wifi, how will I connect to the internet?

I already tried a factory reset. Didn't work.

Oh, do you have to go through your router? You can't connect directly to your PC?

There is a bug in the firmware that makes it have performance issues if wifi and hardwired are enabled at the same time, messed with me too.  Try plugging the ethernet into your laptop and configuring it that way, then plugging it into your router/switch/whatever when you're done and power cycle.

Connecting to your PC is just to set it correctly for your home network. Once it is on your home network (via ethernet or wifi) its independent of your computer.

If you have it connected to your pc and your pc is connected via wifi to the net, you could do it that way, its a bit of a dirty fix..

On Win7 Network and sharing center choose Change adapter setting select your network and right click on bridge connections.

That should work.. It really is a stupid way of doing it though.

search for dogies guide on here and read it again...

Mine at Jonny's Pool

You don't want to connect your miner directly to your computer.  The only time you will do that is when you are initially setting it up - and even then this isn't necessary.

Assuming your local network is 192.168.1.*, all you have to do is plug your miner into your router.  You can then connect to it wirelessly from your computer to do the setup.  If your network is not 192.168.1.*, then you've got a couple choices.  First, you can try plugging the miner directly into your computer via network cable.  Assuming you can see it, you can configure it.  If you can't see it, you can either change the IP configuration of your computer, or log into your router and change your IP configuration there to use the 192.168.1.*.

Hope this helps.

I had issues with my Airport Apple router... It wouldn't accept the miner as a connection of any sort... So I had to set up a second one, using an old Netgear router... So if you have an Airport, that might be a problem as well.
