Why does our own thing has to be different at all times? Last time i checked there was rules applied to the food context only those who follow the rules will be judged upon if they win or not. I participated in the food contest as well, the result came out and everything was fair. Nobody who participated in the food context complained that it was rigged or not. @Agbe you did not participated in the context or did you? It now seem obvious that you have been waiting for a time like this to see the outcome and lay your accusation.

Well, any accusation without solid evidence is disregarded. You might be right on what you are saying but there is no proof for others to see and back you up. If there is something you want to share with the LB that is troubling you please do. We are waiting. Thank you.

I saw all this dramas and the thread at midnight but I honestly don't know what to say even till now because am just surprised.

If I can remember properly, I ones participated in an art contest last year and I wasn't among the winnings but I was not bothered to ask or create any thread for it asking how they judge or finalize the winners because I know the judges didn't the right thing.
So new let's just focus on the future and not the past. Mia didn't the right thing, the winners deserves their rewards.

Honestly, all these drama no really Dey necessary, the contest don come and E don go, person wey host contest don choose how E Dey am good for body so I no see wetin come Dey bring all this ones. Assuming say E get where the forum don already slat how these kyn contests supposed be when it comes to deciding the winners and then the Organizer(s) come go do another thing, or if the accuser get solid evidence and fact to backup him claim, then we fit look into the matter and see whether na actually rigging or not, but in this case, nothing like that happen, so Abeg make we do the calms.

I think you are over reacting mate, you don't need to sound like this, I mean na you organize the contest and you get every jurisdiction to do whatever pleases or choose the winners but when someone ask question or feel you no do am well na to just reply as you been dey do wen the contest dey go on.

At the very least, I was pleased the locale had a contest, it was executed in the best possible way and results were drawn out. I see it to be a step towards the right direction. Though, the results would not always be satisfactory to a lot of users, there would always be those that wouldn’t be so pleased with some of the outcome as against others and for this I would say, it’s entirely by the judges which are not really known here. No one would judge with another user’s eyes or ideas. What is appealing to one in this regard might not be appealing to the other and I think how traditional your methods are with this being a display of our cultural heritage was something I admire of some contestants and this might not count for others.

Even then, the contest is the first of its kind, I’m sure going forward, we would find best means and approaches to our troubles and criticism. I beacon on the rest of you that would find fourth to present it in a respectful and suggestive manner for best means when we have the need for a contest. Kindly relax the provocation and congrats to the winners and team behind this.

I was very pleased at first when i found this thread in this naija local board and then i was still a newbie as of last year contest, then i was praying to meet up the requirements of the contest but before the contest could reach 25 of December i was able to reach the requirements but i can't still post a pictures of my dish but as time goes on i moved from newbie to junior member then that is when i started posting my dish, it was not that easy on me as newbie that time and I'm very happy to see that I'm moving gradually and i can't never stop to learn from all moderators here in this naija local board God will keep you as we await for the upcoming contest and i know that this upcoming contest will surely make a different from the previous ones.

This contest all started like an unrealistic task but I was baffled by the outcome. The organisers did a marvellous job and just like @Smartvirus pointed out, the judges are humans and if you place two humans to get their opinions about any event, each of them will judge based on individual perceptions. The outcome of the contest and its results were near perfect with little human errors.

This is just a novel contest and I believe it's second edition will be much better than this one.

I also indulge other well meaning members of this forum to key into this initiative to move this Local board higher.

If i should go accorde to what you are saying right now that voting could have been the best option in terms of knowing the true winners, i really support this motion but since the deal has already been done, them I'm still looking at the up coming contest that all the moderators that will be involved in hosting the contest should at line or write out how they are going to select the winners in this coming contest, if actually voting will be the best option then let us go for it, so that sentiment will not take place.

I don't want to put my mouth on local issues again unless I came to make comments to contribute what I know and left. But this your contest has dragged me to know some questionable characters. I saw some comments and I also personally checked the method of data analysis for the selection of the winners. It is not really transparent because I didn't see where it is mentioned that the judges brought the usernames for you to announce. I didn't even see the names of the judges. Please can you explain how it was done to douse some tensions. Things like this need 💯 transparency as we can see it in the forum. One thing about every contest is that only a specific number of people will win. Almost everyone did marvellously well and the judges did a lot of job in cross-examining those pictures to get 5 winners out of many good looking pictures. This is why we should applaud the judges for their decision on the winners because anyone else could find it difficult to decide which of the meals look better.

The co test is over and we should focus more on getting ready for the next edition which could be hope for those that couldn't win in this edition.
